    I appreciate Mr Leong for his honest inquiry to spendings/statistical figures from Gov. It is this counter checking n inquiry that make Singapore better.
    It is just common sense ~ if u want tax amount, u just need to squeeze the biggest segment and that would be the middle income. Whether is over stretched or not = only the common people knows. Statistics can be manipulated n comparison to other countries is silly, because they do not represent Singapore middle income.

    He call outright falsehood, I agree with Leong Mun Wai. He is literally the only MP now addressing the middle class issues. Our taxation in the form of the slew of stamp duty, GST. I don't even eat out these days because of the sheer cost it imposes. Boils down just cut cost.
    You can call the statement falsehood, anyone who read that title on the Straits Times nodding away at how ridiculous the taxes imposed on the middle class are.

      If they only gone through Urban Poverty instead of sitting on ivory tower & commenting we are paying low tax as compared with other countries. Why need to compare to other countries when we do not have natural resources & yet we got 1 of the highest paid cabinet ministers in the entire world.
      Makes me wonder is our life getting better or worst. CPF ordinary account interest rate did not revise for past 20 over yrs till when it was debated. Just act blurr like nothing happen. OMG. HDB system is not perfect. If not perfect makes it perfect when paid million $$$. If our education system derived fr lousy school then get the right person to make it world best institution. Low fertility rate is the result of high cost of living. Cannot just based on percentage taxed. GST is a tax paid by all. The higher your expenses, the more tax you pay. This applies to middle income family with young children.

      hmmm, let me state my 2 cents. i am a married singaporean chinese household. Dont mind my nickname, anyhow create one.
      i dont side PAP nor side the opposition. Even in elections, i vote opposition not because i support them, but just wanna give them a fighting chance at least to get back their deposits haha. Jokes aside, lets go back to topic. In regards to middle income tax. I am married with 2 young kids, have a maid. We fall under the middle income group, household income just slightly above the median income of SG. talking about tax, i dont need to pay income tax, because i get tax relief from including my retired parents, my NS liabilities etc. So i dont need pay income tax. For my wife, i transferred to her the parenthood tax rebate and cant remember what else in regards to parenthood, she also dont need pay income tax. For property tax, my 5 room resale hdb..about $100 to $145 per year depending. Maid levy i think its $60 per month.
      As i say i not siding anyone, just speaking the truth, talking about tax for me married with kids. I pay minimal to be honest. As i mention my household earns higher than the current median income of SG, above 10k per month combined for sure. With all the tax reliefs i get and benefits of having children, i pay minimal. So....i am not sure why lotsa Singaporeans are whining about in terms of middle in come tax? The facts do speak out. See the statistics rather than hearsay and just because its online, lotsa people like to keep saying SG is expensive bla bla. Yes u cant control external factors like imported food cost, oil cost, electricity cost, we have to earn a living on our own to pay for it. The govt dont owes us a living, we do. Take responsibility in our lives to earn our keep, not whine or bitch about it and blame the govt.
      As i say earlier, i even voted for opposition just because i want to give them a fair chance, but no doubt, i am thankful for the PAP for their just and commitment to Singapore to improve our economy. We are so much better off than other countries, but we still have whiney Singaporeans bitching about. I really wonder is it just plain biaseness haha..

But also make life a lot more unsustainable in the long run - we will not only end up with more society problems that the government will have to face, but in turn create other more societal issues.

    狐狸尾巴露出来了。The fox tail is showing. "What Mr said is an outright falsehood."
    This statement will in no time
    be taken back by Lawrence Wong.
    SGs just have to calculate :
    the utilities tariffs -- water borne fee & electricity tariffs
    road tax
    ERP
    GST
    COE
    Vehicle import tax (150% of vehicle value)
    excise tax
    stamp duty
    development charge
    property tax
    income tax
    Can the DPM clarify what falsehood has LMW claimed?

    Singapore under the pap has seen 9% gst, 30% water and electricity taxes, 2-3 casinos and a ton of Foreigners. Its time for singaporeans to wake up and it's time for the pap to get kicked out! Its time to kick out the pap.

    • @avijeet1670
      @avijeet1670 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Foreigners have always been an integral part of Singapore though and has helped to expand the economy. If we kick out the foreign talent, we will not have any cheap labour and cost of living will also exponentially rise. Overseas companies will also leave as they will have no incentive to set up office here- SG got nothing to offer one in the end. The idea that PSP promotes seems very attractive to many Singaporeans who want to blame foreigners for taking their jobs, but in reality if we practice such policies Singapore will be ruined.

  • @leongyet9896
    @leongyet9896 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yes,we need to kick out all the foreigners and MNC out and only promote and work in SMC or local boss.
    If China and North Korea can survive,I don't see why Singapore can't.
    Also make sure all trades or positions no matter how high you are,including doctors or lawyers,salaries kept at 8 thousands and minimum wage set at 3 thousand dollars.

    I think after Singapore increased its GST from 3-7 %, businesses prices in Singapore market kept increases more that 10%, thereafter when Singapore increases one percent of GST, the businesses increased about 5 percents to 20 percents. So , opposition parties may have been trying to do good intention but may be manipulated by some walks of life for their personal, family and clan gain
