@@notyourtypicalgirl9802 I feel that’s only case for cooking not baking. You should always measure when baking especially for cakes and pastries. The slightest difference in flour can completely ruin what you are making. Not worth wasting all your time an energy for you to be left with a disaster.

Yeah I noticed that too, but it looks delish anyways! In Little Italy in the US I notice they put pistachios on their version of tres leche too, so maybe it’s just caught on?? I’m not sure, but the cakes looked really good!

What I got from this is that you should definitely get one of those silicone spatulas. The thin bendy ones. They clean my bowls of batter so well none of stuff is stuck there.

The ability to guess measure proportions for food is something I saw my Somali mum do growing up and I have inherited lol. It doesn't really affect main meals but it's risky with baked desserts where accuracy is make or break. The same dessert always tastes different in my house lol

Just some tips from how we do in eastern europe. Egg whites: add the salt at this step and whisk the snow until it is really firm. To egg yolk mixture add the flour with baking powder together, it will help to spread the powder more evenly, and just then add the snow to the whole mixture as it is easy to "break" it. (You also whisk the snow at the end just before adding it to the mixture or it starts liquidifying if it is left alone for few minutes. You want it to be as fluffy as possible haha)
@@neomawzz idk how it is in english so I just literally translated it 😀 "snow" is what we call the product of when you whisk egg whites. And "break" the snow is when you are not carefull when adding it to the mixture and it looses the bubbles

tip: if the top of the cake is browning too fast you can put tin foil over it so it wont burn (this also works with pie crusts)

You should use a metal tray to bake the cake. It's a better heat conducter. The cake will cook more evenly
