Gordie is an amazing man. I meet him at Sydney airport after the 2000 GF win and he spent time talking to us.. then got the CEO to come over and thank us for coming over from Perth to watch the game. He went from superstar to legend immediately in my eyes. Thank you Gordi!

As a NSW fan, nothing but respect and admiration for Gordon. A fearless intimidating human, loved watching him even when he was kicking our asses. But the guy is humble and kind and not afraid to show his emotions. Much respect from Newcastle

One of the most feared and respected men to ever touch a footy field, arguably the best second-rower in NRL history. It’s nice to see someone who was such a tough guy on the field shed some layers and show emotion

My favorite QLD forwards - the 2Gs. Gordie and Gary Larson. I wanted to be Gary then Gordie came along, so I was Gordie when attacking and Gary in defence. Proud Queenslander!
I'm a NSW supporter, but Tallis was one of my favourite players going up. So much power and anger and lover for the game. Thanks for the memory's mate

When Gordon spoke about Kevin Walters issues and was brought to tears, I knew this man is an incredible friend. What a legend
Gordon was talking about fit 50 year olds. We had guy who passed the commando test at 55.
I remember when Gordon first came to Sydney he had to 1- 2 games in the juniors, one Sunday we were playing at peakhurst Park and there was this skinny kid run on in the under 17s, fast forward 20 minutes he had scored 5 tries and doing serious damage in defence, I clearly remember the club boss yelling out _ get him off he's gonna kill someone. It was very funny at the time, the next time we see this young bloke was a couple of weeks later in the red V. Still not sure why he had to play for peakhurst hawks a great but now defunct junior club in the St George district.
