Silverchair was my favourite band in high school, and something of a gateway into more stuff. I recommend the following songs: Israel’s Son Pure Massacre The Door Anthem for the Year 2000 Abuse Me The Greatest View Slave Emotion Sickness Spawn Again Tomorrow Across the Night
Daniel Johns vocal from 1st two album to Diorama really change. I do love his voice in Diorama era. should check out Greastest View, such a good ballad song
They were playfully mocked for being "Nirvana in Pyjamas" ( a play on the Australian TV show Bananas in Pyjamas) early on in their careers. Something they dont deny, as its obvious their early work was copying Nirvana's style. My personal favourite is 'ana's song'. The song is written about the lead singers struggle with anorexia (ana)
Sliverchair started as sort of a grunge band but kept evolving their sound to be nothing like grunge. This is their second album. Their first album was recorded when they were 15 and still in high school in Australia. Their first single Tomorrow was one of the most played songs on US rock radio in 1995. Nearly 30 years ago now. Not bad for a bunch of 15 year olds from the other side of the world.
FYI listen to Helmet. Silverchair cited them as arguably their main influence. Once you listen to anything off of 'Meantime' or 'Betty', you'll hear it...
Oz rock 70 - 00’s is a rabbit hole worth a look. Silver Chair is a significant part of that picture but there are additional amazing acts that might interest your subscribers. Of course AC/DC, INXS, Wolf Mother, Jet, Thirsty Merc, Spiderbait, Choir Boys, Cold Chiesel, Regurgitator, Living End, Jimmy Barnes, Baby Animals, Screaming Jets, Hill Top Hoods, Eskimo Joe, Rat Cat too many to list. Too much fun to be had.
Just listen to their whole album "Frogstomp" because that is their debut album with so many bangers of a song. So, proud of them and what they accomplished at the young ages of around 16 to hit fame as a grunge band in Australia
One of my absolute favorite bands and one of the most underrated too. Their growth from Frogstomp to Young Modern is incredible. It's a shame they don't get along anymore and Daniel said he would never put Silverchair back together.
Silverchair came from Australia and debuted in 1995 w/ the album 'Frogstomp'... pretty much emulating Nirvana and the 90's grunge rock scene from Seattle. They were very young (15/ 16 yrs of age) when 'Frogstomp' sold 2 million copies in the US and scored the MTV hits - 'Tomorrow'... 'Pure massacre'... Silverchair is Daniel Johns (vocals/ guitar), Chris Joannou (bass) and Ben Gillies (drums) 2nd album 'Freakshow' was released in 1997 when they were only 17/ 18... sold half million copies in the US (#1 in Australia) w/ the singles - 'Abuse me'... 'Freak'... but the grunge rock era was coming to an end. 3rd album 'Neon Ballroom' in 1999 was a mature rock album w/ keyboards and strings... sold well - half million copies in the US w/ the singles - "Anthem for the year 2000"... "Ana's song (Open fire)" ... 4th album 'Diorama' was a rather mellow record in 2002 w/ ethereal song structures like Coldplay... However, the album failed commercially and Silverchair went on hiatus. Silverchair returned in 2007 w/ 'Young Modern'... and it sounded nothing like their early records. very electronic influenced... Daniel Johns ended the band a few years later in 2011 and quit the music business eventually.
Give a listen to pretty much any song from their later album "Diorama" to see how drastically they have changed their musicality (rather, Daniel Johns changed) with progressive structures and symphonic arrangements. I was a fan of them from their first album up until Diorama.
Yo' Ray, greetings from Argentina 🤘 It's cool to see your reaction to Silverchair and Avenged Sevwnfold 😅 I hope you can react to Bullet for My Valentine - Waking the Demon / Chiodos - Caves or A Perfect Circle - Weak and Powerless. Much love from the other side of the world.
Also dubbed “Nirvana in Pyjamas” by Oz Fans. Frog Stomp their debut album was a massive international release for the gents. Given their age 15/16 this was an unprecedented achievement for a high school age garage band which I don’t know 🤷 has ever been achieved since
Silverchair - Straight Lines is my favorite song of theirs. I grew up listening to them and when Young Modern came out, I was in college. It just hit different to me. Probably their most unpopular album too. I'm a weirdo like that. Lady Gaga's Artpop is my favorite album she has... and I heard that was not very popular as well.
Cool to see you do an old school Aussie band. And good to see the old good stuff and not when they completely changed their sound. Their newer stuff had nothing on their early albums.
Great band. This is from the second album they made at about 17 years old. Look up the singer Daniel Johns solo work. It will shock u at how different it is lol it’s like elevator music 😂 so weird
Silverchair is so damn underrated. Glad you reacted to this. Love your channel
These guys were around 14 yrs old when they started. “Tomorrow” is their biggest hit. That should be your next reaction.
Silverchair was my favourite band in high school, and something of a gateway into more stuff. I recommend the following songs:
Israel’s Son
Pure Massacre
The Door
Anthem for the Year 2000
Abuse Me
The Greatest View
Slave
Emotion Sickness
Spawn Again
Tomorrow
Across the Night
All of Diorama is a masterpiece.
yup, fyi im from south east asia, diorama really huge back than in this region.
Daniel Johns vocal from 1st two album to Diorama really change. I do love his voice in Diorama era. should check out Greastest View, such a good ballad song

Saw them live in 1997 at the Oregon State Fair.
Wow, that was a throwback, haven't heard these guys in decades.

You should really watch their 2008 live version of this song , it’s so epic and way more creative than the badass original
"hello my cutie patooties and welcome the frick back" is my favorite open to any video
Silverchair! Daniel Johns, great singer.
Give a listen to pretty much any song from their later album "Diorama" to see how drastically they have changed their musicality (rather, Daniel Johns changed) with progressive structures and symphonic arrangements. I was a fan of them from their first album up until Diorama.
Pls react to their song ‘Ana’s Song’ 🙏🏼
Avenged Sevenfold God Hates Us
Live 2011 Rock Am
Their song Emotion Sickness is so good, and so different from this song.

Would love to see some more Silverchair besides the big hit Tomorrow.

Avenged Sevenfold - M.I.A
thank you, from ur indonesian subscriber🙌
Cool to see you do an old school Aussie band. And good to see the old good stuff and not when they completely changed their sound. Their newer stuff had nothing on their early albums.
Another cool one (with a funny video) would be Bodyjar - One In A Million. More punk rock then grunge that one though.
Silver-Woods of Ypres
Great doom metal band with amazing lyrics. Not many great poets around these days
SILVERCHAIR ARE Freak show!!!
You should try ana’s song or miss you love..😊
damn you got to see them old live shows
You should listen to Nobody's Fool by Cinderella!
Have to react to Rock in Rio (2003) I think....songs like Emotion Sickness etc.....
Blood Sweat & Tears | League Of Legends don't miss this masterpiece.
one of the songs from the album Neon ballroom should be your next reaction 👍

Silverchair, aka the other Nirvana, or Baby Nirvana - they are just schoolboys, trying to be as them. 😂🎉
