I always thought that as you aged, your voice aged with you……I now realize because of Tom, that if you keep your instrument (voice) in shape and strengthened, it will remain as when you were young. If you go back and listen to Tom in his prime, his voice remains the same! Remarkable!
That duet was one of the best ever moments on any talent show. Also, post the duel, Tom was heartbroken to send his pal's son home: he was trying to hold himself together emotionally. What an amazing and gentle "gentle"man. I tip my hat to you sir.
I think Tom should ask Peter to go on tour with him. Just imagine the memories they'd make, and how special it would be for Peter.
Tom's got a great voice. He was my favorite singer when I was young (single digits).

The smile Tom made when Peter sang his turn with “I’ll Never fall in love again”, it seemed like Tom seeing his friend again. A very familiar smile. Somewhat like proud uncle moment. ❤ Explains why the battle was so heartbreaking for him.
Did you see the slight emotional choke right when HE KNEW Tom turned around? He wasn't even looking up. He knew his chair!
The fact this wasn't rehearsed just blew my mind. It was too perfect.

If you believe that was not a planned moment than you haven't paid attention to these shows. How did he just instantly know what song to play? These are all fake and rehersed. They have many things they do. Like having a person sing a song they can't sing. Than they abruptly stop the song and suggest they try something more comfortable. Amazingly they suddenly sing like a heavenly voice. Its all fake. It's scripted. Nothing on TV is real. As much as it would be nice to believe that idea sadly behind the curtain they just touch kids. 😔
@@moonpie2637 You are 100% correct. Its even more rehearsed on Idol and X Factor. There are hundreds of testimonies on TH-cam of past contestants who speak of these set-ups.
I believe that Tom Jones's voice has gotten stronger with age! He's superhuman!
It hasn't, it's much weaker, but he has learned to alter how he sings to maintain a solid performance

Okay total honesty I have never been a fan of Tom Jones music. But to see him in a sitting position belting that song out as if it was the easiest thing in the world for him was truly epic to watch.
For someone of his age…it’s not unusual
The mans career has spanned decades has a wide audience covering generations and the Reload album in late 90’s with various duets great songs in my opinion created a bridge between adults growing up listening with their kids then building own connection and carrying on his music in to their own and beyond.
My parents always had the neighbours in and New year parties and i’m 44 grew up Mam n Dad listening to their stuff 50’s 60’s 70’s stuff and Tom was a regular and stood test of time ageless in his audience and will continue long into musical world without his physical presence as i’m sure world over somebody somewhere knows mans name and at very least 1 song.
I don’t envy the pressure on the man’s decision but I wholeheartedly believe Peter has his own path ahead in music in 1 form or another and look forward to seeing what that is. 👍🏼

I can certainly understand why it was so hard for Tom to choose between Peter and Deana-they were both so good and having to send one home was difficult,but Tom sent Peter home with class and memories that will last forever! To me, the duet with Tom & Peter is the greatest moment in Voice UK history!

That moment Peter and Tom just had is why music is truly magical. Wow the smile on Tom's face watching their battle says it all. Tough choice.
Sir Tom's voice is still as clear, strong & pitch perfect as ever and for him to sing that 100% cold gave me chills!
That's one of the major problems with music of today (mostly) they rely heavily on artificial pitch and time to make themselves sound better but many singers from Tom's generation didn't have this and had to rely on skill alone, this is why when you see some of these "chart" singers sing live or without anything behing them they sound shockingly bad while people like Tom could probably do this in their sleep simply from the amount of time and effort put it to be their best without enhancement, It's not like the older generation don't use any enhancements but it's far less common than it is today.
Tom Jones is and always will be a gentlemans gentleman. His zest for love and life is written all over his face. I pray Love and respect returns to peoples hearts.
No respect for him, to idolize someone who didn't want to own up that he's a father , denied a child...and boasting about more than 200 woman he slept with on tour and how his wife was not allowed to ask him about it...is that a gentleman?

There’s a time every now and again that two paths cross and something magical happens, this was one of these very few moments! For Tom to hear and recognise Lonnie’s sound through Peters singing was just, one of those things you can’t explain! I’ve watched this over and over again, I seen it Live on Tv, it’s always given me a tear in my eye! I think Tom did make the right decision, You don’t have to Win to be the Winner and I think Tom knew that Peter would be Ok and he’d make it! If you’re reading this Peter I Really hope you’re doing well and following your Dream! This was an absolutely ‘Magical moment’ and was Meant to be, Fate, Destiny, just Beautiful and chills watching it 💖
I saw Peter Donegan sing this as part of a show in Skegness a few years ago. It was there that I learned that it was Peter's father who wrote the song. A brilliant performance then and again here and from the master himself.
I repeated this about 6 times. Mr. Jones is one class act to do this with Mr. Donegan's son and he was just as Awesome.
Wow to say Tom Jones still has it is an understatement! Hopefully Peter will be able to make hs dream come true to support his family by singing like his father did. The Voice was his introduction to the world!

I think the only reason *Sir Tom* went with *Gina* is that he was afraid he'd be accused of favoritism if he went with *Peter.*

Peter was exceptional, but I do think Gina was a little bit better. I wanted Peter to continue on, but I think Tom made the right choice. Just because Peter didn't win the show doesn't mean he isn't headed towards greatness. He has music in his genes.
Gina's voice has a wider range. I too thought it might be seen as favoritism if he had picked Peter. But watching Tom's reactions during their singing, he was definitely in to Gina's voice. I think Peter can go places too. He has Tom Jones as a good reference! The song they sang was beautiful and they should do a single together and sell it.
Also would have made his choice so much harder, to let the son of an old friend miss out on that opportunity
