So deeply human ! As if a powerful voice full of strong emotions managed to transcend the years during which she had remained silent for multiple good priority reasons that deprived her of her life, putting her in the backgroundjust for a moment, time to settle everything and get back to his passion !!
She had me in tears from her audition to her final song. Very few singers have done that to me. I know at least one of those songs she sang for her late husband. Tom knows a great voice when he hears one that's for sure.
Sally your sons were so proud of you and I very much hope you're back on the stage now.

She didn’t lose. Yes , she lost the contest but look at what the show did for her- she got a ton of exposure and I bet many offers to perform etc. It revived her career.

For at least the past 35 years, my most favorite, emotional, inspirational, listened-to song has been 'Another Train'. I pulled it from an anthology because the haunting voice of the singer, unknown to me, Sally Barker, wouldn't leave my head. I never thought I'd ever hear from that voice again. It's hard not to sound overly dramatic trying to say what is true, but I wish I could thank her for the many many times that song rescued me over my lifetime.
As Tom Jones said, Sally can bring so much emotion in her singing. Such a gift she has. I wish she had won.
She did win not the fixed voice but A Classy GODLY Lady Artist.

I'm a 60 year old man, home alone watching a TH-cam video today and for some reason out of the blue this salty liquid appeared from my eyes and my nose started to run. For 22 minutes and 17 seconds! You laid it down Ms. Sally. Your beautiful and deserve the second chance to show the world your God given talent.
She's Tom's equal in every way. Such a perfect pairing of voice and experience. I'd love to see them tour together.

I'm ashamed to say that today I saw and heared Sally for the first time. And she touched me so hard that I was completely swept of my feet. What a voice and what a beautiful Lady she is. Her voice is the result of the life she had and the things she had to go through. For me, she was the winner of that contest. She's great in every way and Sir Tom Jones made one of the best choices he ever made on The Voice. ❤❤❤

I think some of the younger contestants were amazed to hear/see her incredible ability.
I could listen to her all morning long. Most others, yeah, a song or two is plenty but Ms Barker is real, real easy on the ears!!!

Wow! Totally agree!! It definitely is a master class! Her range and dynamics (when to do "forte" or "pianissimo") are superb! I've listened to her rendition a million times, and I still cry. The other contestants are completely transfixed and paralyzed by her performance. Why she didn't win is beyond me! It just shows that the common ear can not listen to the articulations of great music! Just do a beat loop and a couple of stupid lyrics, and you make millions these days! We've lost the meaning of it!

Sally Barker has a perfect voice, vibrato, intonation, diction, emotion, pitch and life in her voice. Music is at home in her voice. She compliments the music and the words. @Sister Jay, your comments about Sally took me, as an Aussie, straight to Judith Durham's voice (The Seekers). When Sally sang " To Love Somebody", I believe she was singing of the love she would always have for her lost husband when they were she was so young.

She is one of the few true voices. Many people think they can sing but this one really has it.
A pure, angelic, heartfelt rendition of everything she sings. Her singing transcends your soul into anothother heartfelt dimension.
Sir Tom Jones is a true gentleman, I believe all he says and shows, and having him showing such emotion, I think, is the highest honour for anyone who can be on the voice UK.

The Song wasn't a big succes in it's first releasing in 1985.
Later after re-release in 1991 the Song became a signature song of the Band Waterboys.
I guess this woman adapt the meaning of this brilliant song like no one before.

Her phrasing is just perfection - I feel like young vocalists should take a course in her... she never seems as if she’s trying, she’s just truly there in the memory and the moment, making music. What a pure voice.
