    Love the banking analogy. It will stick in my mind and remind me to take care after the next large withdrawal.

    Thanks for all the insights Jeff. It's insanely helpful!! I couldn't train for several years because of a bigger health issue. Since January I am back on the trails and are just heading towards the 10k. Your videos and especially the training diaries are sooo helpful. I've been implementing the RPE System, the three-week-training one week off and other of your ideas in my training. Plus the joy and awesome feelings when you talk about running and being on the trails. Thanks!!

    Thanks again for sharing your process in such details. It has been a constant go to during my preparation to the QMT50. Looking forward to the Hardrock footage and UTMB recap. Keep it up!

    Really enjoying this series. I’m not a runner but I am preparing for a long distance event. I’ll be doing one of the Susan G Komen breast cancer 3 day walks in a few months. (Walking 60 miles over 3 days)
    Even though it’s not as intense as running a lot of your tips still apply.

    • @JeffPelletier
      @JeffPelletier  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Amazing! That’s a solid distance for waking or running. You’ll be spending more ‘time on feet’ which is taxing on the body in its own way

    Hey Jeff, which of the Salomon poles do you use?
    Absolutely loved this series. Excited to see how the training changes leading up to a more mountainous race!

    Jeff, first of all, there’s a lot of great content on your channel! I’ve gotten super inspired to go for longer runs myself and I Aim to do my first trail marathon next summer.
    I actually wanted to ask about your audio, you have such a crisp sound, any special mic setup, sound proofing or just perfect mixing?
    Take care 🤩

    Hi Jeff! When will you be arriving to Chamonix and when are you planning to do the TMB? I will be in Chamonix from july the 9th to August the 9th. I was wondering if I might see you guys there on the trails ;) (I might do the TMB too in 5 days between the 31 st of july and the 4 th of August)

    Hi Jeff, really enjoying your training series, thanks a lot! Re your fastpacking plans: Will you be staying in the refuges on the TMB? I just finished fastpacking the same route 2 weeks ago, and unfortunately picked up SARS-CoV-2 along the way, likely in the dormitories, which knocked me out good the week after. Would be a shame if sth like that affected your UTMB plans, so stay safe!

    • @JeffPelletier
      @JeffPelletier  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We will be staying in the refuges, yes. Sorry to hear that and thanks for the heads-up - we’ll be sure to take extra precautions!

    Excited that your training will shift to a more vert-focus. I just finished my first 50K last Saturday and will next be training for a 50 miler w/ 12,600 ft. Definitely not a UTMB, but hope to continue to learn and apply ideas from your training diaries. I’ve tried increasing my weekly vert about 10% but ended up a little injured but could still run. Is 10% too much?

    • @JeffPelletier
      @JeffPelletier  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      10% is a good rule of thumb for distance, but harder to say for vert. Probably not too far off though.

    Hey Jeff. Huge fan of your series, but for some reason, the past couple of episodes haven't had the YT auto-captioning. Do you have any idea why, or how I can activate it? Keep up the great work! These are always very enjoyable. Thank you.

    • @JeffPelletier
      @JeffPelletier  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry about that! I actually do the captioning manually, but I’ve just been too busy the last couple of weeks.

      @@JeffPelletier thanks so much, man! Pretty severe hearing loss is my excuse! 😅 While you're super clear with your speech, I rely on lip reading a lot, which can be challenging in parts. I really appreciate you going out your way for a (very) small minority. Thank you 🙏

    • @JeffPelletier
      @JeffPelletier  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s actually a large portion of my audience who uses them, according to my analytics, about 25%! I think that English is a second language for many of them. I’m a big proponent of captions for accessibility either way 💪
