Great video! Are you able to confirm whether the new wider screen stretches the factory Lexus software? Or does the software adjust its screen ratio? The font looked a little stretched when you weren’t in Apple CarPlay
Great video man, what I wanted to know is on 10:27 in the video when u exited car play and went into the TH-cam app in the screen, how are you using the internet, do you have your phone hotspot on or is the screen receiving date from your phone through the lightning cable? Also is there a way u can continue using the track pad that come with the car already or no? Thanks 👍👍
Hi Kevin. Yeah i did hotspot off my phone. You can use the trackpad while youtube app and all but the accuracy is not as sharp or spot on as the mouse in the video.
Would be great if you can make a custom plastic cover to push the screen forward 3" + to make the touch feature practical. I believe the new IS brought it forward.
@@thehuangbros It would not be hard. Have a metal bracket made to push out the screen but to also keep it locked in place connecting screw holes on the screen to the dash tabs. Then have a interior resto shop make a cover connecting to the metal bracket and wrap it in leather. It would look very OEM and cost $300 tops.
Thanks for this video bro.. Been looking to update the screen of my RC. Just one qstn though; did you get the screen from alibaba or Korean version. I heard the Korean one doesn't have any heating issues.
Hi Joe, No problem, just trying to entertain and educate everyone in the RC platform. I got the screen from Alibaba. The link is in the description. If you go this route, make sure you contact Iric Tan on the site to ensure you get the correct one for the RC350. There is a unit specific for whether you have navi or no navi in the car. I watched the video well and solved many questions. thanks you I'm riding the 2014 IS250 model. Connecting bluetooth will go to the oem bluetooth not the screen bluetooth. Plugging cable in will activate carplay which will have great sound quality

Hey nice review. I have a question when you use carplay and play some music or put in a destination does the noise come out of your cars oem speakers or the android systems speakers
Very helpful video I have couple of questions how do you get rid of the music that came on the radio also did you have a problem of no sound from the radio when phone is connected. Also under automobile settings it's asking for a password
The demo music you can go to file manager and delete from there. When you say radio, are you referring to the stock oem factory radio system? You can download iheart radio and use that with carplay to access radio stations. If it is asking for a password, no need to do it unless youre trying to reset something like the displayed vehicle

Great video I've been looking at this screen and trying to see if it worth a buy. This helped a lot but now I'm thinking of movie from the 350F Sport to an F first, hhmmm. Thanks!
Hi Erick. Good question. I repositioned my mic to a spot under and hidden from the android speaker. If you go to my channel and look for the bezel trim install video, it will show that i repositioned it next to the climate slide control. The mic however, is only used when i use the speech function for waze or google maps. When i answer phone calls, i use the phone answer button on steering wheel to use oem factory mic

@@thehuangbros yes I plug it but because you use carplay I think you use the mic from your phone for perform address no? Because for me it will.be a lil expensive for only use it for carplay no? :)
If you use the voice to text function from the screen for the app, then it uses the android mic. If you use your phone to input the address, it will use the phone mic. Typically the mic that is used is dependent on which device you choose to activate the mic feature.
@@oloc2737 the only gps apps i use again are waze, google maps, and apple maps. That comes from the phone and just gets displayed on screen. So i havent gad issues

Hi what's up man. 1. My TH-cam app from Android Auto(AA) works only when I have a wifi or hotspot connection from my phone connected to the AA. 2. I used the built in app on the screen to go on TH-cam itself. However, I can play music on my phone's TH-cam app and it will play through the factory speakers as I am connected through CarPlay but will not display the TH-cam media. 3. I have tried to use a wifi from a home wireless modem but no luck. I have been able to connect to a restaurant's wifi to test some features since it was in range.
