Dude this is wild!!! Thanks for the video! I just purchased an RC350 two days ago… i hate the screen. I want to do this mod. Couple of concerns: (1) this is an android product.. i use an iPhone, will that still be okay to connect with? (2) is CarPlay available with this system? (3) what did you end up doing with the restart button and the USB that was dangling?
THIS IS A1 INSTRUCTION! Takes me back to my audio install days. A lot of cues from a 1996 ES300 (in true Toyota fashion). How much real estate is behind the headunit? I have had to jam cables in the past, but looks like it may be pretty roomy back there (even with the huge connectors). Again, GREAT JOB!
So behind the screen, the amount of space is about 11in wide x 3in deep x 4in height of space. Plenty to tuck it all back there with no pressure on any wires. There are lots of crevices which is great. Thanks for the kind words.
Sure thing. So the reset button is it rebooting the system completely. So for example, if the screen freezes or something says is loading but you know its not. You click it and it reboots/restarts the android. The usb port labeled usb2 is the only connection for carplay. Usb1 will not link you to carplay.
Hi, yes you can use the OEM factory mic. Everything OEM will still work since all OEM functions are stored in the factory CD Player unit. So no loss of function at all. However if you were to lets say use the Android Auto screen for bluetooth phone calls, the provided speaker and mic will be needed. But, if you choose to not use those 2 items, I was informed the factory stuff would work since the factory bluetooth will be used and not through Android Auto.
Hey great video! 2 questions: How is the sound quality with this unit? Does it match the quality of the stock Bluetooth? Someone else mentioned it was flat sounding. Any work arounds? Where can I find one? Thank you!

@TheJMedia apparently there is an aux cord that you need to feed through into the center console where your usb and aux plug is. Plug it in and make sure aux is selected then everything should be fine.

The steering wheel functions exactly the same. The OEM navigation and all those features are built into the CD player so there was no loss of function removing the OEM screen. When placing a phone call, it depends on which system you are connected to, whether android or OEM screen. The bluetooth can be either or. The OEM mic and such works only for the OEM unit. Hopefully this answers the question.
Great video! I have a question though - we have a 2017 RC300h which does not have navigation. We bought the car two weeks ago and Lexus sold it to us as a navigation model, so they are fitting standard navigation in for us at their cost. Would installing standard navigation involve the same process of removing the centre console etc or is standard navigation simply a box that fits in the glove compartment? Just curious what Lexus will actually be doing to our car! Cheers!
Great question. So i do know and had experience with trying to hook one of the screens in this video to a non navi lexus IS200t. Hi Barry, after seeing your video I decided to upgrade my Lexus IS300h 2014, with the same Android Auto, your instructions was very helpful. I installed it since 2 days ago and I have some questions. I have some videos on a stick ( mp4, music and podcast) and when I play them, video stops and replay every 10-15 sec bey itself. Can you give me an advice! Thank you in advance!
Hi. Thanks for using my video and giving me feedback. So I have another video on my channel about the features. Search Huang Bros Android screen features. I show how to transfer the files to the android screen. Do that and it wont lag anymore. But for short, go to file manager and copy the file and not move the file.
Im very happy that I was able to give you confidence. This was something that I needed when I got this screen. I didn't want anyone to feel helpless the way I did because no instructions came with it.
How’s this holding up a year later? 1k is a lot for a 2017 car that should’ve come with this standard. Lexion appears to be one of two manufacturers for this and I want to know it’s worth it before I pull the trigger!
First question: I found same this screen but mentioned it’s for IS model, is it same size of RC ? Second question: did you found solution for losing that screen ? Waiting your answers
Hi Myra. Here is the link. Just type in Android Auto 9.0 Lexus and search for your model.m.alibaba.com/trade/search?SearchText=android%20auto%209.0%20Lexus%20&from=header&&
Hi Boonthai, the screen has been great. I recently traveled across US with it and no issues, im always on CarPlay, never back to oem factory screen. However, im still trying to find a touchpad trackpad.
I tried to install this screen on a IS200T before, just make sure you get the navi option IS200T for the one I have in link. But if you dont get the Navi option IS200T, you can order this screen for the non navi lexus also, just gotta contact the seller.
Hi Trung. So far it has been 4 weeks and no issues that you may have read or heard. If there were issues, you can bet I would make a post to follow on this video as I would not want others to experience that hardship.
Is this the Lexion screen? I want to do this upgrade, but honestly am waiting for a screen option that is close to flawless. I heard good and bad things about the Lexion screen. Some people have issues.
Hey thanks for the vid! I wanted to place the order on the website alibaba but i tried putting quantity to only 1 but it says minimum of 2 only. Did you have the same issue ? Or know how to change it?
I just tried the site also. That is truly weird that it says minimum order 2. Try ordering a lexion screen. Ive heard great things about them and that the touchpad works with it no issues.
It is compatible. You would just need to contact the seller and specify that it is a IS250 and not a RCXXX or RCF so that they can send you the unit with the proper vehicle displayed
Are there any nice aftermarket parts to replace the CD/Radio console area? I like this screen, but not sure if I should just rip out the entire mid section and get a giant screen (then remove the stock top screen). Thanks!
I think I know the answer to this, but are there any after market parts that can make the screen closer to the driver? That's a big reach and I don't want to always have to use the controller
The final mic position i placed it next to the left temperature slide feature. Look for my video instrument bezel trim replacement. Or look up my 3 month review video of this screen. I show the final spot. Kinda hard to describe to you in words. I use waze on carplay more than the navi app the android screen came with so I wouldnt be able to tell you. Sorry
Hi, yes it will actually. This model is for RC models specifically so you would fit right in. You can also contact their customer service to check but I can tell you right now it will.
Hey, it seems like this is single piece unit. While Lexion is advertising it product as two pieces unit (screen seperate from the motherboard), which they claim is the only unit not suffering from overheating. Is the link from aliexpress really for a lexion product?
Hey, my head unit is stuck on the lexus start up logo. I have tried many times to hard reset using the button with no luck. Do you have any advice. Thanks
I dont have any suggestions for this since Ive never dealt with it. I would suggest unplugging everything behind the screen and replug since it is easy access.
First, thanks for the easy install video! Second, I am having issues with the audio, and I didn't know if you could help: when I listen through the factory screen on bluetooth, it's fine. When I change the settings to AUX and go to the CarPlay, it sounds really bad and muffled and almost like the speakers were blown. Could this be a loose connection somewhere or maybe a bad fuse? I have never used the AUX prior to this, so I cannot tell if it were bad before. Just really want to figure it out because I love the new system, but not being able to listen to music or Waze properly ruins it. Thanks again for the help!
Hi. Do you still have the aux insert that came with your unit? Try plugging that in. I set all of my aux settings on the android screen to the highest.
@@thehuangbros Yes, forgot to mention that. I plugged it in. I will try playing with the settings on the Android screen itself. I just did not see settings for the aux there. I will check again
@@thehuangbros Well, update: I tried everything to fix it, and now, I am removing the screen and putting the old one back. Not trying to be that person, but it's not worth $600-$700 for crappy sound quality. :/
Hi Manabu, did I not connect it? I connected the round black module that has the gold ending. At 11:48, it is connected or is that not it? Please let me know.
Yeap the screen still works with oem camera. If you saw the stuff behind the screen, that was the android unit. The wiring is piggybacking off of the oem wiring and only adds functions and doesnt take away. If you watch all the way til the end, i demonstrate the oem camera feature
Thanks for posting the vid, it helped me a lot on my install. Question though, when I fired up the system the car graphic on the right side is an IS not RC (i have a RC350), also the volume & track buttons on the steering wheel no longer works. But everything else works. Any suggestions?
Hi Ian, so I had the same icon issue too where it displayed a NX lol. Go to Automobile Settings then click automobile settings again. It'll ask for a PIN number. 217456. I hope this code works for your unit. Afterwards, scroll down to confirm it to save the icon change. If the code doesn't work, you may need a different code from Iric. So for the volume and track button, that part would require you to pull your screen back, check all of the pins and ensure they are not bent, I found one slightly bent on mine. If that does not work, you may need to contact Iric Tan on WhatsApp. Hope this helps.
@@thehuangbros so the code did not work, do you know of any other? Also how do you connect the unit to the internet so you can use Maps, TH-cam, etc. (sorry for all the questions)

@@andyburnett8012 thats awesome, glad it worked out. They figured out the oem stuff?
Thanks for the video. Really gave me confidence to buy one and install myself...
If you search the channel, I have a 1 year experience video. I would go lexion if I did it again.
First question: I found same this screen but mentioned it’s for IS model, is it same size of RC ?
Second question: did you found solution for losing that screen ? Waiting your answers
whats the link to the one you got?
Hi Myra. Here is the link. Just type in Android Auto 9.0 Lexus and search for your model.m.alibaba.com/trade/search?SearchText=android%20auto%209.0%20Lexus%20&from=header&&
Hi, thanks for the video! But just wanted to make sure if this same process works on a 17 IS350?
yeap same process.
is there a newer screen available- the one in this video seems unavailable?
So how this unit holding up? Any issue with it so far?
Hi Boonthai, the screen has been great. I recently traveled across US with it and no issues, im always on CarPlay, never back to oem factory screen. However, im still trying to find a touchpad trackpad.
Thanks for posting!
Did u ever have any issues with oem nav screen not turning on after replacing the batterry? If so what did u do to fix.
what do i buy for my 2017 Lexus RC200t
Nice video man 👌👌👌
much appreciated =)
Crossing my fingers I can still get the 200t model for under 30 during tax time🙏🏽😂 the radio was my onlyyy down about that car.
I tried to install this screen on a IS200T before, just make sure you get the navi option IS200T for the one I have in link. But if you dont get the Navi option IS200T, you can order this screen for the non navi lexus also, just gotta contact the seller.
Does the oem trackpad work with the screen ??
Hi Huang, I am interested of buying for my RCF. Before I buy, I need know if it's reliable according to your experience.
Hi Trung. So far it has been 4 weeks and no issues that you may have read or heard. If there were issues, you can bet I would make a post to follow on this video as I would not want others to experience that hardship.
So far is has been no issues other than the common issue of having to press steering wheel next button twice to place next song.
Is this the Lexion screen? I want to do this upgrade, but honestly am waiting for a screen option that is close to flawless. I heard good and bad things about the Lexion screen. Some people have issues.
This is not Lexion and I havent had issues yet.
Excellent video...
Thank you. I hope I put enough detail that everyone can follow and not be confused.
Does this replace the factory headunit?
Hey thanks for the vid! I wanted to place the order on the website alibaba but i tried putting quantity to only 1 but it says minimum of 2 only. Did you have the same issue ? Or know how to change it?
I just tried the site also. That is truly weird that it says minimum order 2. Try ordering a lexion screen. Ive heard great things about them and that the touchpad works with it no issues.
Thanks for this installation video, much appreciated.
No problem. my pain and suffering is your education lol.
So the product in alibaba is same one from lexion?
No. Lexion products are only thru lexion website.
How has this screen held up over the years? Any big issues to look out for?
So far so good. Still using it and im in Germany now still using it
Where do I get one? How much is it?
great vid! made it really ez
Does this work for 2017 RFC and Does it have apple car play?
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it
Can the screen fit on other models such as the IS250?
It is compatible. You would just need to contact the seller and specify that it is a IS250 and not a RCXXX or RCF so that they can send you the unit with the proper vehicle displayed
Are there any nice aftermarket parts to replace the CD/Radio console area? I like this screen, but not sure if I should just rip out the entire mid section and get a giant screen (then remove the stock top screen). Thanks!
Unfortunately there isnt anything out currently. No company has invested.
I think I know the answer to this, but are there any after market parts that can make the screen closer to the driver? That's a big reach and I don't want to always have to use the controller
After having this installed for a while, do you still reccomend
upgrading?
This thing works great for me. I just upgraded it to do more than what I expected from it. Video dropping this weekend after I edit it
so how did the gps antenna function after driving? Does it work without issues hidden in the dash? also what was the final spot you placed your mic?
The final mic position i placed it next to the left temperature slide feature. Look for my video instrument bezel trim replacement. Or look up my 3 month review video of this screen. I show the final spot. Kinda hard to describe to you in words. I use waze on carplay more than the navi app the android screen came with so I wouldnt be able to tell you. Sorry
Where you get that screen from?
This would work in a RC350 F Sport right?
Hi, yes it will actually. This model is for RC models specifically so you would fit right in. You can also contact their customer service to check but I can tell you right now it will.
Hey, it seems like this is single piece unit. While Lexion is advertising it product as two pieces unit (screen seperate from the motherboard), which they claim is the only unit not suffering from overheating. Is the link from aliexpress really for a lexion product?
I provided 2 links, 1 for lexion which this video isnt even about and 1 ink for yzg from aliexpress.
Having issues connecting to my IS. Plugs are completely different.
What company did you buy
@@dillondas2598 Are all of the pins inserted all the way without a bent? One of my pins were bent. Its just how I received it.
@@thehuangbros Yeah I checked. I saw you comment that to some others so I made sure to check. I may try to play around with it again tomorrow.
Pretty helpful info 👍
Glad it was helpful!
Hey Barry, was there a reason that you didn't connect the GPS antenna?
Hi Manabu, did I not connect it? I connected the round black module that has the gold ending. At 11:48, it is connected or is that not it? Please let me know.
Well, I stand corrected. I never saw you do it!
Do you know if they sell this product for the GS line ?
They do. If you go to the link i have in description just type in lexus gs android screen
Does the oem camera still works with that screen console and where did u get it from?
Yeap the screen still works with oem camera. If you saw the stuff behind the screen, that was the android unit. The wiring is piggybacking off of the oem wiring and only adds functions and doesnt take away. If you watch all the way til the end, i demonstrate the oem camera feature
Do the factory USB's work with this new screen or just the ones that come with the screen itself? Thanks in advance for your help!
Factory usb works with the oem side of the screen. The new usb works with the android side of the screen.
I'm not receiving audio when I use Apple Carplay
Huang Bros thanks bro!
@@ianmonteyro3825 No problem. please let me know if that code worked for you.
@@thehuangbros so the code did not work, do you know of any other? Also how do you connect the unit to the internet so you can use Maps, TH-cam, etc. (sorry for all the questions)
@@ianmonteyro3825 oh no worries man. So there is a follow up video that shows how to connect to TH-cam and such. It is my video on all of the features. It should be a clickable link at the end of the video. I think you are going to need to contact Iric because all of the screens are different in their own way.
New screen baaaaybee
what it do baybeeeeeeeee
Do the buttons on the steering wheel still work with this? Like the volume on next song
Yeap they do. Just have to go to the carplay awaiting connection screen and go to setup and set it correctly to make the buttons useful.
Whats the speaker n mic for that screen for?
they are for the screen to use for voice for CarPlay if you use that feature. But the screen uses the oem speakers and mic.
Any updates after all these years on any wear and tear, corruption or issues arising?
Hey man how reliable is the car stereo any issues with it at all?
I havent had any issues with car stereo.
@@thehuangbros ok but how long have u had for though?
@@jimmycrickets4467 since this install video I made to help out those that participated in the group buy for this screen.
What Did you do to secure the top of the screen to keep it from falling down?
Its in my other video talking about the features. Remove the oem yellow tabs or blue tabs and transfer to new screen
Please where can i buy the screen and can I install it in IS
Link in the description and you can install this into a 3rd gen IS if screen is not the 10.25in one from factory
Hey bro, doing this install now.. almost done but the new screen doesn’t fit. There’s these plastic pieces that are obstructing the back metal panel from the screen to click in. Have you heard of this problem?
Is it the 4 plastic clips that gets inserted on the 4 corners?
Does it have the capability to install Apple car play?
Hi, great question. In this video that I made, I demonstrate how to use Qlink which is Apple CarPlay. th-cam.com/video/-Y6AEgfrSV0/w-d-xo.html
where can I purchase that unit. is there a web-site I can go to?
Try buying the lexion screen. The one I have in this video has a link in description.
Where can I get that carbon fiber shift knob from?
You can get it from Elvin on ig or fb or from DCTMS.
I ordered the Infotainment screen, and I'm missing the Car? Does the car come a little later in shipping?
🤣🤣🤣 you must of missed out on their new years sale with car then haha
Do you think the Beatsonic Front Camera can be added? Is there an option for a 2nd camera on the settings besides back-up camera?
Many have asked but i haven’t seen a way to do it. But I hear the Lexion one possibly can
@@thehuangbros thanks! I’ll check it out.
I have a base 2016 rc200t because I'm broke poor. Would I be able to do this upgrade?
Hahah. There are headunits for the RC200T also.
Does the touch pad still work?
Yes it does. But need to use it slowly to make it accurate
