  • Well I should have listened to all of your comments from back in October when I picked up my 2020 Dodge Challenger Hellcat Widebody. You warned me about rock chips on the doors, fenders, and fender flares but I didn't listen. In today's video I finally listen to your comments and show you how to install the ZL1 Addons Challenger 18-21 Widebody Deluxe Rock Guards. I think these will help prevent most large rocks and debris from flying up and hitting my doors and fenders. As an added plus I think they look pretty good as well! Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.
    .
    I purchased this product from ZL1 addons but there are other great retailers that sell similar products. Here is the product I purchased:
    zl1addons.com/...
    .
    They also have a less expensive variant:

    I have a 2021 widebody. I had my husband install the same rock guards. He did not want to use the bottom screw but in the end he felt it was just more secure and did so. I feel that they are adding additional protection. Enjoying all your videos! 🙂

      Great idea! Yeah I think it's worth doing the rock guards even though they are pit pricey for what they are. Hope you're enjoying your 21 widebody! And thank you for watching the videos🙏🙌

    I have used these rock guards on all of my Challengers. I purchased a 22 Challenger Hellcat widebody and the rock chips are terrible with the rock guards. My Hellcat only had 121 miles and rock damage. I am going to install PPFF asap. Thanks for the great video.

    IS IT NECESSARY TO ALSO ADD EXPEL PPF TO ALL 4 WHEEL FLARES🤔?? AND FRONT END ON TOP OF BUMPER AND BELOW??🤔🤔

    • @SchwayZ
      @SchwayZ  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      So I added paint protection to the whole front end of the car. I didn't add it to the rear fender flares because the price was a little steep. If you want the most coverage then I would recommend it. Otherwise the rockguards should be pretty good and are less expensive than the paint protection film

  • @pbrdoug4962
    @pbrdoug4962 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yes they are worth it. I've had mine on for 1 year this month. No rock chips on the sides. I put the screw on and glad I did. Twice I've ran over road hazards that should have broken the guards. They are fine after a year of use

      @@SchwayZ I KNOW!!!! I SOOOO torn to do it IF I had the money!! I kinda like the exclusivity of the SRT392 possibly being a limited edition trim later down the line since they were only made for 3 years but then again the look will make it look SICK like you said!! @SchwayZ  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@toddwatkins9666 that's so true man! It would look so awesome!!! Not sure on value either. One comment I have is that the cost of doing the widebody is probably going to cost more than the 6k for the widebody option. I talk about it in my next video. BUT there's no widebody SRT 392s

    I have a jailbreak on order. Nice video I definitely will do something to protect the paint. I am having the car get PPF right from delivery and planned to do the whole front end, hood, front fenders, mirrors, and all 4 flares. Do you think it is also necessary to PPF the bottom of the doors? How much chipping did you notice on those areas? Trying to run the car without the guards and let the PPF take all the hits. Thanks.

    • @SchwayZ
      @SchwayZ  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good question. I would say PPF on the rear widebody fender is necessary. I'm noticing rock chips that shoot out from the front tires and cause little chips in the rear widebody fenders. As for the doors, you could probably get by without PPF but if you want the best protection I'd get it there as well. There are some smaller scratches in those areas. You could possibly buff them out later but still something to keep in mind

    What I find ridiculous is how long the widebody has been available and still this is the only thing that I have been able to find. I feel it was severely important that dodge or someone else could have made something more than this thin piece of plastic.
    Has anyone found something other than this. Would really appreciate if anyone would let me know if you did .

    • @briangribbins
      @briangribbins 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I actually ordered spashguards from MOPAR that said they would fit a 2021 widebody. Unfortunately they do not actually fit the widebody. I even took them to my dealer and they said the same thing. Dodge claims they fit but they do not.
      So I returned them and ordered the ZL1s.
      Pretty lame. Honestly splash guards should be a factory option IMHO.
