@@RatchetstrapMedia yes Boss mine is 29" & the stock tier in the front is 2.20, & in rear 2.00 tiers are looking so thinner compared to the wheel size so I want to replace it with wider tires but can't get any advice regarding the maximum compatible tier width so I'm in a great confusion.
I've already emailed Trek team & they're advising the maximum tire width is 2.20 for rear!😔
Yeah. That’s about as wide as I would go on the stock rim. Any bigger and it’s going to make the tire contact patch weird.
@@RatchetstrapMedia but I've noticed the same 2.20" tier in Marlin 7 looking so wider while the Trek website declares the rim & the 2.20" tier both are same in Marlin 5 & 7 (2021)!
The 7 has a different rim
bro what is the width of your rims?
*I have a 2012 Trek Cobia, which is a hardtail similar to the Marlin. I’d say that the fork could be upgraded to a Bomber Z1 or Z2 or perhaps a Rockshox Reba. Whatever you do, I recommend servicing the fork. I didn’t and realized in hindsight that travel can be adjusted. My Recon Silver TK progressively became underwhelming.*
Same my bike before but now its monster in trail
Nice video, though the warp stabilizer-like effect really ruins some shots..
I have a question could you give me the information of the thing you have and price
Sure. What’s your question
John Ratchetstrap how much is the the set up shorthand and the names of things you bought
The whole build including the bike was around $3000.
John Ratchetstrap and what’s is the important thing about the parts
John Ratchetstrap for a marlin 5??
Did you use an adapter to fit the fork on there
Not this fork. I have since rebuilt the bike, which I had to use an adapter for. Watch my marlin 5 jump bike build!
@@RatchetstrapMedia which adapter did you use?
Ec44/40 bottom headset cup
@@RatchetstrapMedia thanks I've been trying to figure out if it would work with my bike and I never got a definitive answer till now. Thanks a lot!
No problem!
Why didn't use the internal cable routing?
He said there was no hole in the seat tube for the dropper cable to go through. So he wasn't able to route it internally.
@@saiーツ i was looking at the right holes for the shifter cable to go through that's what I wanted to know
My bottom bracket doesn’t allow it to pass through the bottom.
May I ask what bb size for marlin5 2021?tnx
Trek.com
Would a 2.50 assegai fit om the front?
Doubtful. Unless you put a boost fork on.
What is the color of this Marlin5?
Blue
What drive train would you recommend to install on a marlin 5 without having to replace the tyres and brakes? Also 1 x 12.
You should have to replace tires or brakes by installing a drivetrain. You just need a compatible rear hub. I recommend the sram nx 1x12 setup. Easily the best bang for buck in the industry.
Did you replace your back wheel or just change the hub?
I replaced my front and back wheels.
What size frame are u running I have the same mine is m/L bike feels so small
This is a m/l. A little big for me but when I got it, that’s literally all they had. I got this during the bike shortage.
I find mine small for me and I'm 5'8
What’s the wheels size to fit the 12 speed drivetrain?
29x2.3
What forks did you get
Its the rockshox judy silver.
Is your rear wheel stock qr or a thru axle please ?
Stock quick release.
@@RatchetstrapMedia thankyou do you know at all if you can put a thru all om the rear ?
They probably make adapters for it, but I wouldn’t. The bike wasn’t designed to have that type of axle, and you would end up snapping the qr ears off the frame if you went hard enough to use a through axle the proper way.
Thankyou again.
I would of modded my marlin 4 but the frame is so flexy and the geo was very XC so I decided to spend like 800$ on my specialized pitch in terms of upgrades and tools, very solid bike.
Sick!
I think there is a dropper post hole on the back of the botham bracket
Not on mine.

I just got a 2021 marling 5 and I want to upgrade to a 1-12 gear
Do it. It’s a great upgrade.
What did that 1-12 gear upgrade cost you If you don’t mind me asking. Love the bike and good vid. Thanx.
1:44 thank god you said it yourself because I didn't want to offend you bro
Good, I wouldn’t want to be offended by someone on the internet anyway
What size is this
