  • This video is about Fog Light Install of Electrical Connections for 2018 and above Honda Goldwing. It is a easy install. Removing the center dashboard is a breeze. All parts reviewed are bought by me.
    I got them at wingstuff.zinr...

    Wow I was confused half the video seeing your process of removing the center console vs. another guy taking half the entire bike apart. I'm awaiting my fog lights to arrive and I'm surely gonna follow this advice. Much appreciated. 🎉

    Hi Peter, I like to thank you for your effort in making this video. Especially your tip of short cut without taking off the side panels is absolutely a time safer. I did all the installation in one evening's time. Thank you!!!! Fred-2018 GL-1800B.

    Installed them a few months ago. Real easy. Plug and play. Quality and well made.

    I am not impressed with the Honda's LED Fog. In fact, i think they are useless. I am tempted to order the Revco kit and wire the lights directly without the relay and switch. I saw a GW with a set at night and boy, he was bright !!!!!

    I will ask you the same questions as I've asked others who have posted similar videos. Are the fog lights connected in line with the headlights? In other words, the only reason to install the switch is if you want to turn them off? Without the switch installed wouldn't these lights be on all the time? That would save having to install the switch button...

    • @Petesmotoadventure
      @Petesmotoadventure  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It sure about that. I’m sure you can hot wire them to be on all the time. The switch does control the power, before I put the button on after plug all the lower wires in the lights did not come on until I installed the on/off button. It’s not hard to move the center console, with the short cut.

      They are electrical connections lights, not the OEM. Bought them at Wingstuff. wingstuff.com/products/38200-ec-foglight-kit-for-2018-gold-wing

    hey pete. any reason why you chose this particular brand instead of the pathfinder one? I found the pathfinder ones gives you the option of using DRL only, if you wish, and also has a strobe function. Keep safe buddy.
    Also is the button backlit?

    • @Petesmotoadventure
      @Petesmotoadventure  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I did look at the pathfinders, I have had good success with Electrical Connection products in the past so I stuck with them. The strobe function doesn’t appeal to me, and in some states I’m sure it’s a way to get pulled over. Even though they aren’t technically illegal. EC has released a wire harness for the lights that will allow them to stay on with the high beams on.
      And yes the button is illuminated.

    hey pete another question, i noticed you have the rivco foot pegs installed, what is your take on the review on those pegs. It is pricey, are they worth the top dollar they command?

    • @jimtaucher791
      @jimtaucher791 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Zunaid Kajee i cant speak for Pete but i love mine on my 2016 gl1800. I have had them for about 5000 miles very comfortable. And i like that they seem concealed when put away. Worth the extra money to me

    • @zunaidkajee4540
      @zunaidkajee4540 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@jimtaucher791 thank you for the response Jim. I also like the design that it can be tucked away, and looks factory fitted

    • @Petesmotoadventure
      @Petesmotoadventure  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Are they worth the price, yes. Could they be a little cheaper yes. Before I put the Rivco pegs on I made my own attached to the crash bars. While they worked well, they would drag on the ground with heavy corners. I went with the Rivco due to the clean look and adjustability. Worth having especially for those long trips.

    Great video, but after seeing the price on this unremarkable light kit, I'll pass. At that price I'd expect at least a reeach-around with a happy ending. Maybe I can find them on eBay or Amazon for less. Great vid, though.

    After watching your video, I easily installed the EC fog lights on my 2018 Goldwing Tour. I installed the Gold Strike tie-down brackets at the same time. Very easy to do following your instructions. I still need to play a little with aiming them but that will get resolved in due time. Glad I saw you use the shortcut for button install.

    Do these really light up the road ahead or just a small forward and sides? I find the headlights are awful at night and you need the high beams on if you are travelling at speed. The regular lights barely give you a second of light. I'd be interested if they lit the road farther than the regular headlights without being in the way for oncoming traffic

    • @Petesmotoadventure
      @Petesmotoadventure  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I haven’t been out at night yet. One thing I had to do with the headlights was adjust them. They were aimed high from the factory. The led lights when aimed correctly are bright compared to my 2007.

    • @michaelbayliss1794
      @michaelbayliss1794 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      My head lights where aimed into the ground , all that was lit up was about 10ft . Two round dials in your faring that adjust your lights .

    Pete, any thoughts on Path Finder, or Show Chrome fog lights. Is the install pretty much the same from brand to brand?

    • @Petesmotoadventure
      @Petesmotoadventure  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      They are all about the same. There is one brand that doesn’t use the center button, it uses it own switch. Either way it’s a straight forward install.
