I would say this channel is the very best of TH-cam or any other site you can think off. Dr Feltons research, production and narration are second to none,
You can not do better then listen to what Mark Felton has to say, this is really Mr. Credibility himself with his clear concise narration etc, etc. He doesn't prattle on like so may others do but just gets into the subject after so obviously doing the important research first & then gives you the information etc what you are looking for!! Well done indeed thank you Mark Felton.

Though fictional, one of the most watchable movies about resistance on the railroads is The Train, a 1964 production set in 1944 France. The movie is widely available for streaming, but I have my own VHS copy.
It's based on truth. A train full of stolen art was re-routed back into France. The scene where the railroad maintenance sheds and shunting yard get bombed is very convincing - I doubt that modern CGI would be better - or even as good And the train collisions are spectacular

Very refreshing, and welcome, to have an historian and narrator who, unlike too many TV historians, doesnt feel the NEED to emphasise random words in HIS narration, giving every DETAIL equal importance, or who emphasises the wrong WORD. Nor who thinks he needs to finish every sentence with 3 exclamation marks.
It's rare that a great writer is also a great narrator. I'm glad you're finally getting wide recognition for your work 😁. I hope Netflix signs you for a show in the future. Anyway, time for me to listen!

Awesome work Mark. And a good bit of escapism during these wierd times. Spoke to my son today who works with the blood sampling machines in hospitals and in one hospital alone there where 64 confirmed cases in one day...only problem was the machine count showed in excess of 200 confirmed results... Who to belief? The official figures or the figures of a front line technician who wouldn't lie to me. I love your work because I'm exmilitary, from my military knowledge I know this is a very real threat, as does my son who is reading the true numbers at various hospitals daily. He organised his whole extended family into total no contact lock down a week ago. I don't think that the picture of a DRB 52 class locomotive in Serbia with coal wagons in a coliery is the best picture for the video... but at least it is a WWII german locomotive... still in service for over 75 years...

Where is part 2? Mechelen in English is called - like in French - Malines. The camp there still exists as a war museum, the Dossin Kazerne. Nearby is another war camp museum, Fort Breendonk.
Hi Mark, thanks for all your great content! I just thought I'd let you know that TH-cam unsubscribed me from your channel. I have no idea why, I'm just glad I noticed so I could resubscribe.
There's a an old but excellent black and white movie called: The Train. It's about the Nazi's confiscating art of the masters from a French museum. Even more so, it shows the tenacity of resistance to thwart tyranny and facism at every step. It also has increadible cinematic production and has plenty of train scenes. Watch it. Mark Felton is by far my most favorite narrator & unfolds his war stories so skillfully with in depth details. Do yourselves a favor & listen to Kill Hitler! The July Bomb Plot. The suspense was truly entertaining.
I think it had a delay on it as well, so the train would be well into the tunnel. The housings had been painted to match official devices, and was marked with official looking lettering to the effect of do not remove by order of the ministry of transportation. Supposedly worked well.

Took me a while to realise you were talking about Mechelen. It's a Flemish town, and the pronunciation isn't anything like Michelin. The first "e" is pronounced like in "bet", the "ch" is very similar to the German pronunciation, and the remaining "e"s are pronounced more or less like the "u" in "bun".
