For all of those persons that own a Nissan X-Trail, and you need to replace CV Boots on the front Drive Shafts, please do not tug and pull on the Drive Shaft, following the removal of the Brake Back plate, disc rotor and all other peripherals. Many have said "that they cannot get the Drive Shaft out of the Transmission Housing". Pulling and tugging the Drive Shaft won't remove it - if you have a Drive Shaft Bearing (as support). This Drive Shaft Bearing is located within a separate Bracket, and you will need to also remove 3 x 14mm A/F Bolts. So - take a tip from me. Take a look along the complete length of your Drive Shaft. Drive Shaft will either be clear - all the way through to the Transmission Casing, or you will find a Bracket (which is closer to the Transmission Casing). If you see a Bracket attached, then you must (first) undo and remove the three x 14mm A/F Bolts. Another bit of advice: Remove completely, the plastic guard which partly covers this area. It is much easier then. The most difficult part is getting to just one of these Bracket Bolts, all done by feel, not from underneath (impossible) and not much room for radial movement of your spanner. One that these three 14mm A/F bolts have been removed, you will be surprised just how easy your Drive Shaft comes out. Don't forget to place an Oil Catch Tray under the vehicle, to catch the oil as the Drive Shaft is removed. Not all X-Trails are the same. Best of luck, and I hope that this helps. Only left side has the bracket? The right just pulls out, two different shafts.
@@aussiefarmboy I only did ONE side of my T30. If you are sat behind the Steering Wheel, then I did the RIGHT side. Hope that this helps.
