    I have a 9000 lbs Runwa winch on my T30 for almost 2 years and i have no problems with body structure, but i have a reinforced front and it didnt cost an insane amount of money, but every country and every shop is diferent. I use Xtrail for offroad "rally" racing and i dont have much time to dig myself out or other cars to pull me out so winch is great for me.

      T30 is the best to lift up (easiest) T31 you can but you it is a mix between body and frame lift. Also engine etc has to drop 3-4 inches, T32 yes you can, however after you spend tyhe 4-5,000 dollars you might as well grab a patrol tbh. However if you really want to keep it like most of us then find a fab shop to accomplish it.

      So I'm actually looking into this right now so I have the t31 and there's a company here in Japan that will only ship the kit if you're in Japan and they will only install it if you bring your vehicle there so I live on a different Island in Japan then this company is at so I'm trying to get them to ship it to me but they're real weird about who installs it which I understand.

      Thank you so much for your fast support . I contacted the seller and let him know my concerns . Here is his response. Would love to have your opinion on it
      "I will explain and you can make the choice. We have many of our 65mm kit our there without any problems so far. Because the car has independent suspension the spacer thickness results in more lift. On some cars with long control arms 30mm spacer gives 50mm of lift. In this case the spacers you will get are 50mm, but they will lift the car 65-70mm. The 50mm kit comes with 40mm spacers. I would not sell if not compatible. It is at the limit, but cars go down by them selves 20-40mm in 20 years. Please let me know if you want this kit or change it to the 50mm kit with 40mm spacers?"
      What should I replay ?

    • @ruggedlife
      @ruggedlife  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@nicolasbernal6802 No worries. So looks like you'll get 50mm spacers. That is the maximum I would personally go. I thought the spacer itself is 65mm. That would be too much.

    • @ruggedlife
      @ruggedlife  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Stock is ok mate but ideally you upgrade to better shocks as your springs are most likely stiffer than the oem which means your stock shocks will have to work harder.

    Hi mate, is it better to use 50mm block spacers or new suspension?in guessing the box option will eliminate the need to mess with any of the camber and shocks etc. Also if I wanted to go higher than 50mm, what else would need to be lengthened?

    • @ruggedlife
      @ruggedlife  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey mate. The spacer is a good option if you need maximum height as that is the heighest you can go. Beyond that the cv angles will be too much and youll be replacing them aften. You dont need longer struts etc if you use the spacers. I chose the lifted springs as it gives me higher load rating due to stiffer springs.

      I read in an artical [ X-TRAIL-UK] website about remapping the computer box, where they boost the 147kw diesel manual to 220kw and the diesel auto to a max of 180kw. Apparently this is the safest max for the 2lt diesel where as chipping or boosting the turbo will damage or shorten the life of the engine. Before remapping they also check the condition of the motor and vehicle and then custom remap accordingly.

    why not just buy a Patrol? I just bought a 2002 X-trail and its rubbish! you cant put bigger wheels on it because the rear wheel will hit the spring, and you can only lift it 2 Inches ?? .....

    • @ruggedlife
      @ruggedlife  6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      That is correct. You can lift it to 2 inches only. If you plan to use your vehicle to tackle terrain that requires more than 2 inches of lift then the Xtrail is definitely the wrong vehicle of choice. People like me who choose the Xtrail need a vehicle that will be used onroad most of the time but also want a vehicle that can be taken to those beautiful places that a standard softroader can't get to. I would love to have a full size 4x4 but I know that it will be used on tarmac most of it's life so there is no point paying the high running cost of such vehicle.

    • @benjimoomoo

    • @4WayFinSystem
      @4WayFinSystem 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      benjimoomoo not necessarily rubbish depends on how well maintained the car was. My xtrail has done over 300k and is in mint condition. I’m in the same camp as rugged life, mainly use the car on road but have spent many great trips to Fraser, Morton, Straddie etc and the car meets my needs. If I were to upgrade to a full off-road vehicle then an electric rivian or Tesla pickup would be my choice in the years ahead.

    • @ruggedlife
      @ruggedlife  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@23860 that may be correct. However, the pajero's running cost will be way more than the X-trail. If where you intend to take your vehicle offroad is way beyond the capabilities of a modified X-trail then you shouldn't even start modifying it and rather buy something more capable.
