You have such a good take on trans youth oml. as a trans youth who has medically transitioned (I'm 15 and I'm on T and have had top) I have been so incredibly lucky to have these opportunities, however having these opportunities made me further realize that its not for everyone. very few people are in my situation and that's just the reality of it. even if more people wanted to transition young, which many do, they simply can't. this whole panic around trans youth is ridiculous, for most of us its more beneficial to wait. there is no reason to pressure people to transition young (which doesnt happen lol) and there is no reason to shame people for waiting or not transitioning medically at all. side note but i wish there wasnt such a competitive nature to medical transition, especially in transmasc spaces it sucks

Yeah absolutely! At the end of the day, ideally, each person should just be able to do what's right for them. And yup... I think sometimes we have healthy curiosity as trans men/mascs about other people's progress but then it can escalate into us just comparing beards/heights/voices and it's so obviously unnecessary lol.

Hey, I love your TH-cam channel. I wanna start my transition to FTM but unfortunately, my parents are so transphobic, and currently, I’m living in a transphobic country as well so I think it is impossible yet but I decided to move abroad and still trying to convince my parents to let my go abroad. Hope one day I will achieve my dream but honestly, time is hard for me currently and I cry every night and think about whether I will ever fulfill my ambition or not.

I have faith that you will be able to achieve your dreams! Moving abroad can be challenging/scary for people whether they're cis or trans, but it's something that people do succeed in. Many of my friends are international students who came to the US for college or graduate school. Life is also long and it is possible the political climate and transphobia in your country might change in ways that surprise you. The US is a very Christian country and just a decade or two ago, the attitudes around transition were very negative. But with activism and visibility, this changed.

I love your channel. I followed you since the first video and i relate to you so much, i was incosistent with my gender for all my life. When i was 3 i was super sure, i told my parents "I'm a boy, i'm like my brother please call me Alex!". They took me to therapy to change this "jealousy for my brother to make me a girl". It wasn't great and i'm sure this influenced how i see my gender. I came out again 1 year ago to them, i'm an adult and i want to transition but they made a mess and i felt in a very bad mental space. I'm fighting depression and dysphoria and your channel makes me feel so much better. I relate so much about the attraction problem, i want to look hot and i'm sure i won't look that way if i totally transition but at the same time i can't stand it anymore. This body isn't mine, i can't recognize myself in the mirror and finally i'm finding the courage to transition! Thank you for your work, you're helping more people that you imagine :)

I'm sure you will be! Regardless of whether those words/label specifically continue to speak to you or not. (Even cis people go from being boys to men or girls to women... So kind of natural gender labels change with age, I think!)

Just another comment saying I appreciate your content. I was confused by your detransition essay where I thought you were saying that you had detransition but then realised you were just showing empathy for those who do. I love that you'd make a video like that despite having no vested interest (or even a negative vested interest if you really want to push a singular narrative to the world).
It's also just great to see you so happy, you seem like a legend, so your happiness just makes us all happy :)

Hello, I've been binge watching your videos and they inspire me so so so much. I'm in a self discovery journey of trying to figure out if I'm trans or non binary. I have huge dysphoria, always had, specially with my chest and waist since they are quite defined. I've been living alone because I'm studying abroad, and this time alone had given me the opportunity to enjoy te growth and the learning, cause now I can learn how to be myself, where at home I couldn't dress how I wanted to because parents. I really love your videos and I'll keep watching. I love you

Do we really know there are more trans youth, or can it be merely an appearance of an increase in absolute incidence, due to increased awareness, acceptance, and access to care, such that more people are coming out?

16:00 min, Once again a thoughtful and reasoned set of responses. The trans youth question is a really serious concern. If more people were as thoughtful as you we wouldn't have a trans crisis. I think we can disagree when it comes to the transgender youth - you are my evidence why a pause makes sense given the impact of blockers and hormone therapy for a minor - let along the surgeries. Blocker effects are obvious but it is the socio-emotional implications and even stifled cognitive development that all seems to lock in immaturity which we don't seem to understand. We shouldn't medicalize puberty. Let alone a life with a micro penis (ala Jazz Jennings). Wait... and make a mature decision once you have developed and have the capacity. Arthur you put way to much faith in the medical establishment. I sense if you enter a gender clinic for services the path is going to be affirmed. As evidence I would offer up de-trans horror stories.

How do you define something as “paying off” (eg. education certificates) when the dynamic it exists in is completely coercive? ie. employers automatically filtering out people without expensive qualifications regardless of actual skills. It’s just weird (cough propagandistic) because it reframes a coercive situation as if it were an autonomous, free choice within an array of options.
