Naturally, I don’t like sweets, I don’t consume too many carbohydrates, I don’t drink sodas, I don’t consume junk food, I don’t do drugs or alcohol.... but now even vegetables are bad to eat. The other day I saw a video saying how eating oatmeal is bad...that it causes cancer. I eat oatmeal often. I seriously just don’t know what to eat anymore.

      I agree. I've been with a diabetic nutritionist for 13 years. She ALWAYS said to eat fat free stuff. I was getting sick a few years later and a friend told me I should be eating healthy fats because my body needs them. That made a big difference. Due to the sugar free mantra, I had hyponatremia two summers in a row. I finally realized it was due to aspartame in my drinks. My PCP didn't believe me that aspartame was the cause. (I wasn't big on reading labels back then.) No problems since, though. Nothing has ever been said about spinach or beans. Nothing from any Drs re taking vitamin d with calcium. They either don't know or don't care because of the focus on big pharma as the cure to everything. 🤔

    Of course, I would love pinto beans (my mother made great beans and corn bread!) and I enjoy green peas, mushrooms and love tomatoes...geesh. And here I am thinking I am eating healthy! It's like everything one eats at one time or another becomes bad for ya...I put raw spinach in my smoothies, helps me be regular and I thought spinach was good for ya...I think what I will do, is keep these in my diet, I do think I eat in moderation but make sure I am eating enough or taking enough calcium in to offset any depletion that these foods may cause, as they offer so many other good things to my body...shall listen to my body and use common sense...thanks motivationaldoc for all you do in sharing with us the info you have obtained through lots of research. Shall take heed and mix it with my lifestyle and find the balance.

    • @chrissnyder8108
      @chrissnyder8108 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Stick with the plant foods in wide varities for moderation, and they will do you good, not harm, even legumes, though he is right about soaking and rinsing them before cooking them. Excessive quantities of animal proteins are bad for your bones, too; they can upset your body's PH to be too acidic at which point you may end up excreting calcium and pulling it from your bones in order to try to re-balance your PH (academic.oup.com/jn/article/128/6/1051/4722393). I once heard a 20 something year old male with full blown osteoporosis explain to a doctor how it was a mystery that he had osteoporosis because he got plenty of calcium in his diet by drinking a full gallon of milk each day. That much milk (and the meat he ate at every meal) was the reason he had osteoporosis, it was leaching the calcium from his bones rather than allowing it to be deposited. Plant proteins like grains and legumes make your body more alkaline, so the calcium you eat can be incorporated into your bones (though yes, soak beans overnight , then drain off the soaking water and rinse a couple of times and cook with fresh water).
      People drink the milk of dairy animals to get calcium, but the calcium in the milk of dairy animals (all vegetarians) does not come from eating animals, but from eating plants. So getting calcium by eating animal products is unnecessary, you can get it just as easily from plants, and without the risk of demineralizing your bones.

      From what all doctors and reading up on vitamins , the good thing to do is take D3 with K2 and take Magnesium. I like Doctors best Magnesium not the kind in Epsom salt. D3 is good for your lungs and immune system especially with covid out there. K2 keeps calcium from accumulating in your arteries and clogging them. And magnesium helps your bones absorb calcium as does d3. They work together. I understood spinach had calcium.

    • @sarahstrong7174
      @sarahstrong7174 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RepentfollowJesus You need K2 to route the calcium mobilised by the D3 into the bones, where you need it.

Didn't know beans interfere with absorption of calcium. I will eat low amounts. Eating lots green veges.gave up Swiss chard n spinach due to high histamine problem which is better now. Occasional beef only once week or less. But like kale n arugula romaine. Brocoli and other veges.

    For Dr Mandell: I've had very considerable issues with my spine over the years, starting with a diagnosis of quite advanced degenerative disc disease when I was 22. This progressed resulting in a number of open back surgeries and having to retire when I was 50. My question is that I have never really found a satisfactory answer as to why I developed this. I never had a particular injury I can remember and was an unsporty, quite sedentary teen. I was probably always between 10 -40 lbs overweight, until I finally addressed my eating habits. My mother had lupus and rheumatoid arthritis which makes me think there emay be a link between autoimmune diseases and degenerative backs. I was diagnosed with an underactive thyroid when I was 50. In a nutshell, what is the consesnus for the CAUSE of spondylosis, where does it come from and do you think there is an autoimmune link? Thanks, Roger

      hi there roger. I 'm also living with DDD and have found it vital to gently do stretching exercises every day which lessens my joint & muscle pain levels. As a 75 year old lady I've enjoyed learning all I can about preparing foods and eating 3-5 times a day ( small meals;sorta snacks); remaining cheerful & grateful that I so far have no 'organ issues' but like my doctor says I JUST have 'structure issues' for which prescribed medications are available to cope with both the ongoing joint & muscle pain plus neuropathy from sciatica pain down both legs into outer edges of both feed. Herniated discs at L4/L5 caused 24/7 unremitting high levels of nerve pain requiring spinal surgery @ 2001 done by a trauma surgeon. I became "Titanium Woman" ( my hubby says !) graduating after 9 months of recovery I felt very grateful to be able to go 'graduate into the outdoors using my brand-new purple walker with joy....(TOUCH WOOD !!!) No organ problems ; however seems all my joints are involved = Pain Patient= Invisable Disablities. Whenever any joints are affected I've found physical therapists to be of major supportive knowledgeable assistance. No doubt you also have your personal story to share. I was diagnosed in my early 50's ; deemed unable to work; applied for designation and later underwent both knees being replaced...right in 2008 and left in 2015/conscious throughout as is the way these surgeries are done now. Wishing you less pain and the ability to remain cheerful and outgoing. Smiles !

      I know this video is old but I will take a stab at a possible answer. Your mom was possibly Vitamin D deficient when she was pregnant with you. Doctors did not test for it back then and it is actually a very common thing. They even suggest that babies are given drops now as infants and mothers are given it also. It can also affect your thyroid. Have you ever been tested? Anyone with bone issues needs to be tested at least once a year and supplement with D3,K2, vitamin C, and an excellent multi-vitamin (not Centrum). I would suggest you visit a functional health doctor or a naturalpathic doctor.

      If you have an Indian or Indian Pakistani Grocers near you you are in luck because NEEM oil is very cheap to buy.. please never eat it , never put it in your mouth .
      Put neem oil on at bedtime or when you're going to be staying in because it is a brownish color and it smells horrible like burnt onions... personally I would never wear it out in public since I have very fair skin .
      ASCORBYL PALMITATE which is a very specific type of vitamin C will actually make a difference in the appearance of your skin . I used to have brunette freckles and I used to have to wear foundation to cover them as well as sunblock every time I went out ... now I never wear those .
      And that was when I lived in a climate that is not as sunny and hot as where I am now .
      This is what I have found out from taking ascorbyl palmitate for about 14 years now.
      If you do at least a 1,000 mg a day and occasionally more sometimes you will notice first of all that there is less sun damage to your skin and that your face doesn't seem to Freckle ... your skin will tend to stay even-toned on your face and it helps get rid of blotchiness and redness .
      Ascorbyl palmitate is a must because it goes in the fatty tissue and helps tighten up the connective tissues.. all those other kinds of vitamin C are water soluble which means they come out in your urine but ascorbyl palmitate stays in the fatty tissue , which is really good for keeping you younger looking.. I no longer wear sunblock.. I don't need it.. and that's important because now it means my skin once again is absorbing vitamin D .
      Some people buy skin creams that have vitamin C.. I honestly don't know if it helped when I did it years ago simply because it was when I was getting great results from ingesting ascorbyl palmitate anyway... occasionally you can do DMAE which is also good for the skin as well as the brain..
      You probably could make your own vitamin C skin cream but remember : ascorbyl palmitate is fat soluble which means when you grind up the powder , it's NOT going to get absorbed in water ..it will only ABSORB itself into some kind of OIL OR FAT.
      Speaking of which , I heard all these women on TH-cam saying how great MARULA OIL is.. most of them you have to buy on the internet because a lot of stores don't sell it. If you watch the women who do the comparisons the two least expensive brands that they have gotten excellent results with our THE ORDINARY company and also ACUNA.. I have seen some by THE ORDINARY on the internet for as low as $10 .
      I was actually able to get one bottle by Acuna for $13 American dollars .. the stuff really is great because after two and a half days I was seeing some really nice results.. I even put it on my lips .
      There is a pricey brand by drunken elephant for $72 and one woman says she saw a little bit better results with it but not a lot .
      I still think eating certain kinds of fresh greens can make a difference... if you can get wheat grass ...the kind that is growing (if you can't afford the little machine that extracts the juice from it ) you are better off just using scissors and snipping off a little bit of the wheat grass ..may be enough to equal a teaspoon and just chewing and chewing it for about 10 or 15 minutes which is what I sometimes do several times a day .
      And the microgreens which usually are really good for so many other things if you look them up.. such as broccoli sprouts which you can grow from seeds within several days in your own kitchen and there are a number videos that show you how to do this .
      Do your research on why broccoli Sprouts is so healthy for you and also know that they claim it really does slow down or even help reverse the aging process and that they become more potent when you freeze them .
      Please go to an Indian Pakistani Grocers and buy black seed oil and try to take that regularly and it is a powerful healer but also will help keep you looking younger .

      Watch motivational doc's video about K2. The comments about milk I agree. You can get Ca in leafy greens, or supplements, you don't need dairy. Dairy products come with other bad things too. Also, any form of Ca needs to be paired with the other nutrients and minerals needed to absorb the Ca into the bones. Excess Ca in the system causes heart disease and other problems. Also, lots of dairy products also have lots of fat, which is hard on the liver. And the comment about hormones, etc is true. It's about type of Ca, amount, and whether those other elements are there to help the Ca go where it's needed and not where it hurts. Ca needs Mg, D, and K1 and K2 to be effective in the body.

    I would love a video focusing on examples of a bone friendly menu for one week. It's easier to choose from a list of "good to eat"......as opposed to "not good" to eat. For many of us, a restricted food list creates a sense of deprivation which can overwhelm. I thought I was already aware of foods to restrict....some surprises I wasn't aware of.....thank you.
