Technically 'The Wheel' is a natural/metaphysical process that has always existed in the world, and the soon-to-be-gods machinery seized control of the process. This machinery took control of the process for so long that if said machinery was destroyed 'The Wheel' would never be able to return to working on it's own. So it's easy to refer to the machinery the gods made as The Wheel itself, even if that is technically incorrect.

Maybe you should remind folks this video exists since we're looking at an avowed release this year 🤙 was happy to see this is here and that it was you!

I think it's because you said you didn't play the first game, bot PoE 1 was set in the Eastern Reach, not in Aedyr. I remember there were ruins of Aedyr colonization and a lot of Engwithans ruins also, since it was the home of the Engwithan empire. PoE 2 is a better game than PoE 1, but PoE1 deserves a playthrough.
I'm really hyped about Avowed, the setting Obsidian have for this game is awesome, so much potential. What worries me is that the studio lost some of their talents in the last years...

I was under the impression that PoE 1 took place in dyrwood and surrounding areas instead of aedyr?

Dyrwood was an Aedyran colony, probably could have been clearer there

DUDE. The Wheel has always existed. It existed independently of the Engwithans. All they did was refine it. The Wheel always was. The gods also did not create the Wheel. They refined it. Woedica literally tells you that in POE2.

I don't tolerate people being rude in my comments which is why I deleted your other one. This one however is correct and is a valid criticism of the video. Josh Sawyer even weighed in that there was a lot of confusion about the wheel being a physical thing in the universe caused by PoE2. There is also a conversation with Berath you can have that specifically says the wheel has been regulated by the gods machinery for so long that it will never be able to return to its natural state. But yes, the wheel is a natural/metaphysical process that did exist before them.
