The information broadcasted can be received by anyone with a cell phone using available free apps for both iOS and android. The information is available to anyone, not just the authorities. Thanks.
Thank you for sharing this information. I have the original DJI Mavic Air and am interested in this module. I'm a little unclear on a couple things; 1) Do you have to have the app running evertime you fly? 2) Can you just turn on the module for proper use without using the app after initial setup? Or does the app have to be running? I would sincerely appreciate your input. Thanks again! Great job!! 👍
Thanks for Watching! You do not need to use the app after have setup for said drone, you'll only need to use the app again if change drones, otherwise just turn it on and your good to go!
Paul...excellent video. But how do I confirm the RID module is actually broadcasting information...unless I own an expensive receiver or find someone that might have one, etc? The blinkng green light is captivating...but I would like confirmation of actual transmission of RID info...cause if it is not and I think I'm broadcastins...and an enforcement official sees me droning, but can't detect by RID signal...that would be awkward If I am inspected and find out the RID module is not transmitting info. I understand the rule is actually transmitting info and not just having a physcial RID module or built in RID function.
You can download the App Drone Scanner, and it will display some info from the RID to confirm it is Broadcasting! play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cz.dronetag.dronescanner Thanks for Watching!
Greetings : I have that same Holystone Module ID device and I followed the intrusions of programming it. And my doubt is When adding the that weighs eo Drone DJI Phantom 3 Professional 4k is 1,280 grams equivalent to 2.8 pounds and when I add it to the app and it leads me to acegur the information ls I give to save I see that it takes me out of the 1,280 grams and the C2 information. But before I fill the requirements I go down where it says drone models and choose another one. And there I write DJi Phantom 3 Professional 4k. What can I do. Thank you
Currently, I am returning the second module I have purchased. The first one functioned properly, broadcasting the required data. I then put it on charger and the unit would not charge. Returned it and ordered another. Took it out of the box and immediately put it on charger. It started charging properly. Programmed it and check the data being broadcast with "drone scanner" app. Broadcast light was flashing slowly, as it should. No data was being broadcast though. Just saying guys, before mounting, make sure it charges and broadcast properly.
You should have shown us the FAA registration step. Also, taking into consideration payload balancing when placing the drones and not blocking the UAV antennas.
@@nled Uh, better not. That could cause all sorts of trouble and be in violation of many FAA / CAA / EU rules. You don't want to end up having your plane met by certain people.
Thanks for a good explanation. However, I really wish you had set up the unit manually for a non Holy Stone drone. I set mine up for a DJI Phantom. I entered the model and weight and saved. When I go back into setup everything is correct but the weight shows 0 instead of 1280g, which is what I entered. I wrote to Holy Stone and am baffled by their response. This is what they wrote. "Based on what you mentioned, I'd like to further confirm that this RID module has a successful connection to the drone. Does it work properly? If it does then there is no problem." At no point in your video do you demonstrate connecting the module to the drone. Am I missing something, or is the support person wrong?
The module doesn't actually connect to the Drone, other than when you attach it to the Drone, i am not sure why it's not displaying the correct info that you added to the app, I have used on several different non Holy Stone Drones and it's worked, I would try resetting the module a couple of times and or uninstall the app and reinstall it.
This RID modules app doesn't show any broadcast info on a map, you'll need to down an additional app to see a map and the info that the RID module is broadcasting, here is a link to the Drone Scan App play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cz.dronetag.dronescanner
I see a lot of people worrying about these, but I think it’s a knee jerk overreaction. I heard somewhere that it will be required for part 107 pilots no matter the weight, what have you heard? It will be interesting to see what happens and what modules come out. I agree that something a little thinner would be nice. Good video!
Most drones now are starting to weigh under 249g anyway, because manufacturers can sell them easier because they don't need to be registered or ID'd hell even my mini 4 pro is 249g (if I don't use the plus batteries lol!) As far as part107 ya I can see that, the whole purpose of RID is to make the skies safer for everyone, to many dam "Drone Dummies " out there!!! Thanks for Watching!

500 or 600 ft... Not much range (that's fine with me...) but it makes you compliant.

Hi, can u do a review about the potensic atom se?
I am actually finishing up my review on the Potensic ATOM, I'll have to see what I can do about doing a review on the SE but they're pretty similar!
@@HubCityDrones Apreciate it thanks!

I wonder if I could use it 🤷🏻♂️ on my Freewing F-22 Raptor EDF plane ⁉️
i supose these modules could be used as a GPS Tracker. You could fasten to your Dog's collar and then track where he is in the woods.
LMAO! Ya that would probably work!!!
any thoughts on US legislation to ban DJI and other drone makes. It doesn't sound good for the public use of a drone.
I’m gonna stick it on my car and drive around. Just to see who follows me and if their looking up in the air😂
That would be frickin hilarious!!!
Better yet! Take it on a commercial flight!

yes, Part 107 drones will require a Remote ID Module for each drone.
