Removing a few fences could help him finish the footbridge and end the series there. No white elephant projects in Orchid Bay

I'm really going to miss Orchid Bay. This is by far my favorite city you've built. It also has a special place in my heart as you took my suggestion with the cathedral in Old Heaven. Can't wait for the next one
Oh that’s the end. You can’t leave that bridge hanging! Surely there must be one node to save somewhere? This series has been such a joy to watch from start to finish, it just goes to show the versatility of a fully grown CS1 ❤
sounds of silence moment 😢 I cant believe this series lasted 93 episodes! Talk about the most complete city you've ever made. Im def down for a little farewell stream, and the final cinematic will be an emotional one for sure; end of an era. I know youre due for a much needed break but I do hope that a CS1 vanilla city does make an appearance again in the future. Amazing work as always OE
Some surprising assets have nodes: the ROJ parks and parking lots do, animal pastures do, the 3x2 tourism parks do, public transit builds use a bunch, the City Hotels use 20-per... plus ofc there's decorative fences and paths that could potentially be replaced with props/ploppable concrete/decals. I've had a city that's been 20 nodes away from the node cap for the past two or three thousand nodes, mostly through redeveloping some of my early builds with the new tools available now.
I’m really really going to miss this series, it was absolutely perfect - original, creative, great lore and engagement with viewers. You’ve nailed it Egg. It’s the only CS content I followed since the crap of CS2 was released. You probably need a break but would be gripped if you ventured on a “Noob” Guide 3 in CS1 Vanilla or Vanilla+ but perhaps with slightly less fencing so we can eek out a few more episodes 😂
This was my favourite series, going to miss it but congratulations on completing a extremely beautiful and inspiring city - I hope you start another CSL1 series in the future as its still superior to CSL2.
Orchid bay One of my favourite vanilla builds along side Verde beach . This really showed city skyline can be played vanilla and be enjoyable at the same time. Great job egg each episode you made was unique, different and enjoyable to watch.
Sucks to say goodbye to Orchid Bay, we've known it's been coming for a while now. The only thing I would suggest is try to get in the deluxe hotel, putting it in should give just enough nodes for it and possibly to finish the path. I only suggest that because it's been planned for a few episodes now, and it would make a good capstone.

Man, Egg, what a bittersweet feeling. All projects must end some day or another, but this one really felt eternal. Thank you for your work thus far, and I hope I'll see more vanilla (or lightly modded) CS1 from you, soon.
I remember when Orchid Bay started and I based my city off of. I thoroughly enjoyed this series and I can't wait for the next one
It's really sad to see Orchid Bay end after all of this time. But, I think in the end you were able to create by far the best Vanilla city on the channel, if not on all of TH-cam. This city is so vast with sooooo many unique and interesting builds. You definitely have a lot to be proud of.
Woah. I did not expect that ending. I had gotten back into CS with a bunch of mods a few years ago, and then that started to wear a bit thin. This series then got me to rethink how to approach playing CS and got me to dive back into playing (mostly) vanilla and I've been playing CS consistently again for the last year or two because of Orchid Bay. Thanks so much for all your hard work on this series, it really is one of the best CS builds/series out there. Congrats and I'm sad to say goodbye!

By far the best cities skylines 1 builds to date. There are a lot of great builds out there but I think this one edges them all out, fantastic work! I really enjoyed watching.
I'm surely going to miss Orchid Bay!! Such a beautiful city that is well loved by all of us!! Damn nodes 😖 You must give it recognition for making 93 episodes!! It's been brilliant🤩 We need a mod creator that can make nodes go to 2000 instead! If that's even possible.
What an anti-climax this is, far too early 😥I think finding at least 2 more nodes somewhere so this final path connection can be done is a must. I like the re-development in the area, looks absolutely awesome. It also kind of hilarious that you again hit the node-count with a path, instead of a fence or road, absolutely spot on OE😆I'm going to miss Orchid Bay, first series I fully followed from start to finish and even tried to build-along for a while. The farewell cinematics will be epic I'm sure.

I got my new PC running the week you started Orchid Bay so for the first 4 or 5 months I built along - life eventually got in the way but this series helped take my playstyle to a whole new level; away from min-maxing into the joys of detailing - THANK YOU SO MUCH - I'm going to miss this city.
As someone who's following the build guide and is only around part 40 it's making me a bit sad to see the 'old' be replaced by the 'new' as those builds are still so fresh for me. Great work as always. Impossible to adequately tell you how much your build guides have both improved my city building and increased my enjoyment from playing

NO!!!!! This pains me. I have really enjoyed building along with you. Orchid Bay was my first real build along from the very beginning (not counting Noveria because my computer lacked ram but have since upgraded) I have enjoyed countless nights and weekends as I worked my way through your videos, and I'm going to miss it a ton. I hope you will consider starting another vanilla CS1 series please :)

Farewell orchid bay, been a good friend over a such a long time.
If you plan on keeping part of that abandoned rail line, maybe consider converting into a tram line, or a pathway known as a "rail trail" - A former rail line that has been converted into a shared pedestrian and cylcing pathway.
Even with the foreshadowing @ 0:45 ....I was not prepared. (Where the Tyrell hotel ended up in this build was so good! I went from 'nah that asset isn't for me' to 'YES!'...This episode was quite the emotional rollercoaster lol)
Fantastic editing when you were doing that final path...I laughed and cried at the same time. OB has been a delight to watch 🥰

Thanks for an amazing build with Orchid Bay. I love this city. I love working on the map for this city. I wish we could get the same map in CS:2. It has been a super fun watching this city grow and evolve. Hard to believe it's been almost a year and a half of Orchid Bay.
Oh, to add. Will there be a final save file on Steam? I wouldn't mind looking around one final time.

I really hate when this happens...it seems to happen when I'm right in the middle of a great build project. There should be a way to stop it from happening or to make more nodes or something like that. Your city looks truly amazing and I have really enjoyed watching you do your magic..👍

What an amazing city! Take some well deserved time off and take care of yourself. Hopefully this isn't the end of CS1, I personally am not a fan of CS2, it just feels souless to me. CS1 is my comfort.

Oh my! What an epic episode. The only thing better is if it happened on a live stream. 😥it is over. 😃it was such a great run. This has been so much fun. You have to recover at least a couple of nodes so you can finish the last bit of that pedestrian path, otherwise my OCD is going to be the end of me. It probably doesn't get said enough, but excellent editing. Editing Egg is the best! Loved the Sounds of Silence bit. Take a well deserved break, then I hope you consider a new CS1 series. What ever you do, we are here to support you.
Let it be known that the (unofficial) Old Trafford Redevelopment Project brought about the end of Orchid Bay 😅 but this genuinely was a good series. Perhaps CO and Paradox should have dealt with the Node Count issue rather than give us CS2? Would it have been possible?
Future livestream idea (again): after you finish orchid bay, you can install mods and make an overall cleanup (tmpe, node controller etc). Kind of adding a finishing touch to the city

It's really a shame to end on that sore thumb hotel, not that it couldn't look good in the proper context but that just wasn't a good place for it in my opinion (better than the first placement though for sure). Turning the canal into quays probably cost you at the end there. You could also retire the old fake baseball diamond and I'd bet there's dozens more oddities like that around if you wanted to look for them, but it sounds like this Egg is overdone at last. Sad but inevitable!

Although i have already installed all the subscribed contents on the saved game through steam workshop, (and enabled all of them)
Still i cannot properly open the game. The messege keeps popping up, can I ask what am I missing?
That error appears when you are missing a network, which will stop a city from being able to load.
Custom assets aren't the issue, networks are. You need to own any dlc that adds a network that has been used in this city, which by this point, is pretty much all of them
CS1 has some very annoying limits. You can only get a bit over a million population but it can only show less than 50,000 entities at once so many people are just teleporting, trucks/services are not spawning, and it feels empty because those avaliable entities are spread around.
