There seemed to be a theme here about "perceptions" (looking at every side). We enjoy constantly stepping outside of our "body shell", so to speak, and finding another person's perception highly interesting and intellectually stimulating. So much enjoyed watching/listening to u all speak!

This is so fascinating seeing all the different versions next to each other 💖👏 I'm also 3w4 ENFP and people find my Te directness quite confronting at times 😂 also have NFI who I am but when I find something I relate to i just BURY MYSELF Into it in quite an obsessive way until I'm no longer interested in that part of me anymore and I'm back to square one hustling again 😂 🥳

It's interesting because even as an ENFP 4w5, I actually have quite a developed Te(Thanks to my INTJ mom) and I find myself overwhelming people with my Te Assertiveness. I realised that after friend of mine stopped talking to me completely🤣 But my Te do help other friends of mine like INFJs. Sometimes when I feel like using Fi and sugar coating doesn't work anymore and they're wasting their time, I just slammed them with Te, and they would get shocked, but it's a harsh truth they can't deny. Even when my INFJ bestfriend was in depression, I had to constantly use a lil sugar coating, until I feel like it's not going through him, I start being direct and blunt. At that moment he finally stop his negativity and think straight. After making him realise it, I gave him just a lil sugar coat again to make him feel comfortable and supported. I'm just interchangeably using Fi-Te😅

Oh my god I related to every single thing Michelle said so much... I’ve always typed as a 9w1 but I never really looked into what that meant. But thanks to Michelle i now know that is definitely my type lol! The stressy over-rumination, and the shutting-down/retreating... The sloth/reclusive part is a direct response to overworking my brain. After ruminating so much I just need to be away from everyone and everything to self-care.

As a 3w4 I cannot express how life giving it was to realize I was an enfp. I was miss typed as a 1 and entj as well. I conformed my life to gain what the world defined as success; what my parents said was success. My entire life turned upside down when I turned inward because of a deep depression and rewrote what would be my definition of success. I literally do not live to shine bright in others eyes. I know who I am and refuse to live for climbing the socioeconomic ladder. Lots of family fights later and friendship changes and I am more myself and alive despite not choosing to climb the corporate ladder. My education will not secure me financially, but there is nothing else that could be more fulfilling than the path I have found.

Also, I am an INFP, so there is alot of overlap in the thinking and communication style that I found super helpful. I used "enneaapp" to give me a starting place to go from. Another great panel, Joyce! Thank you for hosting this conversation - it was so insightful. Thank you, all, for sharing yourselves this way. It was beautiful.
Hearing Caitlin's perspective was particularly interesting, seeing similarities and differences between her and myself with the 2w1 in common, but being different kinds of NFs. If you read this, Caitlin, I'm curious to know if you know your instinctual stack (maybe you mentioned it in the panel and I missed it).
It was also very interesting to hear from Deb, as I'm married to a 3w4 ENFP. I had typed him as an ENTJ, also, until last year. I think the type 3 brings out the Te in a more prominent way in ENFPs. And, I think his having self-pres as his first instinct gives him more grounding in Si, and also more of a "J" feel. I'm thinking, him being a type 3 and growing up in a heavy ST household, he learned to value ST more than ENFPs may typically do so at his age, in order to succeed in that particular environment. It's a powerful combination. I think the valuing of Fi can help this version of type 3 to recognize the self- and others- deception earlier in life than many 3s do, and they may be more naturally equipped to get to know who they truly are on the inside, and bring the inside them and the outside presentation of themselves into alignment. It's so beautiful, seeing a 3 going through that growth process.

On the manipulative discussion toward the end - this is absolutely true. As an ENFP 8w3, I can be super manipulative whenever I want but usually choose not to. I think it’s bc we have the ability to read every angle. Whenever I’m doing it, I always feel like I’m doing it for the greater good or for some kind of justice. Complete rationalization 😂

I tested as a 4 the need for individuality and authenticity along with artistry really describes what I feel makes my life meaningful. At the same time lots of the descriptions for type 4 is very depressing and negative which doesn't resonate with me and makes it look like our lifes are ment to look dreadful and I refuse to take this as a part of my identity :-D
I feel different then most people and I'm totally fine with it. I wouldn't want it to be any different! I can still connect and dive into and explore the uniqueness of others. No need to be lonely. I'm just not willing to be a little wheel in the machine of the goals of someone else. You don't have get lost in others in order to be connected.

Damn, I am halfway through and just caught myself thinking how very wise everyone in this round is, beyond what I expect on first sight. And now it makes so much more sense that people tend to think I am many years younger then I am on first encounter but estimate many years older after we talked one on one - or if they meet me in a professional surrounding. I guess thats the childish ENFP energy that attracts people but make them underestimate us as well? Now i am curious about my enneagram, can not wait to find out - any hints for good sources on that?

Vulnerability is the lost SUPERPOWER in human civilisation and it opens a door to true connection, true understanding, more collaboration and so much beauty and creativity can be birthed from it. I salute all individuals courageous enough to bring this superpower to humanity because it can be very painful and it can be disregarded, abused and repelled by many others who have built walls and protection to evade it at all cost.

Okay. After deleting all my previous post, I concluded to keeping this simple. It is so amazing to know others are thinking like me too!! Just became a healthier version of myself about a year ago so it was very difficult to figure out my true type. With Sara 100% 🙌. I’m 6 w 7 tritype 649 sx/sp/so. So nice to have finally figured this out. And I absolutely became interested in personality types in order to relax a lot more around people and stop worrying about every interaction etc. But even after all this growth, it’s so strange to notice the nervous energy still kind of comes out when I interact with people. But I’ve been learning to accept myself as I am and realized it’s perfectly okay to have arguments with myself about things im figuring out! 🙊 It’s not a bad thing at all especially as they don’t stress me out anymore! (Usually lol)

39:36 this part is so interesting to think about through an intersectionnal lens. As a child of a Haitian immigrant growing up in a predominantly white school, I would use mirroring for my peer to accept me. I feel like this concept of mirroring is at the core of code-switching. A facade to better relate to other but also to protect oneself from being a social priya. It's so sad 😥. I wonder if any BIPOC struggles with this ?

Without the enneagram types, you guys manifest so differently as people. I was wondering if you’re able to identify other ENFPs out in the wild, when you encounter someone like Deb, with her strong Te.
I’m an INTJ, and I feel like it’s a very distinct type, so it’s hard to mistake someone as being it, most of the time. Of course, there are other types that have similar fxns, so if they’ve developed their lower ones, then I might think that they’re possibly INTJ.

Ne recognizes Ne by how we/they respond to questions and/or how we/they tack onto answers. There's a pretty clear like recignizing like by about the 3rd iteration of questions. You just feel it & trust it in a manner that's encountered so infrequently, it's magic.
Of course, all the usual caveats about how to properly type still apply. The above is more of an explanation of how it feels as an experience.

"Certified" is very Te driven statement, Jungian structure is based on Ti (because he's INTP), a person learns it and observes it (usually through Ne), then makes judgement with Ti/Fi. Te isn't really about his work. It will never be a tribe subject.

ENFP 6w7, I've struggled a lot with accepting I am a 6 for a long time lol. I can go from social happy butterfly talking about banana bread 🍞 to hyper skeptical, assertive, direct, confrontational real quick 🤨. As if I'm a loaded gun ready to blast with 100 questions if you come in between the crossfire. I take feelings of betrayal seriously, It's my most hated value 2nd to putting on face (I wouldn't do well in Japan). I cut friends off as soon as that feeling of betrayal appears, if they dont value the friendship the way I do I will just block and ghost them without saying anything because I get so hurt by it. ENFP with 6 in general feels pretty polarizing to be honest 😅. I questioned if I was ISTJ many times because of this reason.

My apologies but as an INTP, I could not watch past ten minutes of this video. I tried several times but there was an overload of emotion and fuzzyness that I cannot compute and that make me feel odd. This is not a criticism of the fine guests. But it was too much of something weird and I had to get out / shut down. I can't proces nine ENFPs emoting at once! Is this a normal reaction for an INTP?

    • @Kutthroatkawaii
