I like the option of the smaller bottle - I wish more brands would offer those. They'd sell more of the pricey stuff. The color looks light for Lagavulin. Could this one be naturally colored? (I highly doubt it, but one can always hope).
@@steveno7058no, that's why you add the water in the first place, to bring down the abv to get the full taste profile. if you just want the 'burning' taste there are a lot cheaper whiskeys to get that from.
Mr Leuning is of the opinion (stated in other videos) that watering it down from cask strength to ~48 is almost always preferred. There is nothing offered at the cask strength that isn’t also present, if not improved, at the lower ABV. Leaving at cask strength is not experiencing it at “full flavor.” It’s actually the opposite; the booze numbs the ability to taste and smell and the whisky is worse for it. Whether one agrees or disagrees is another discussion.

I absolutely love the special releases from Lagavulin. I have 2022, 2023 and 2024 and I'll definitely be picking up their annual releases.
Tasted it among the other special releases of this year. As always Laga 12 is a really good dram but not these crazy Diageo prices good.
Excelent vídeo!!
Thank you!
... tasting or On Sale ?
why not drink the whisky as is before watering it down?
what would be the point of that??
@@gooner_loomer full flavor

Hahahaha, try it and let us know😉
Very good whisky, but $170? No buy. The ‘21 version was better and was $127!
