Ginger, yes! You and I love those great deals! I’ll be doing more canning, too. At least once or twice a month. The best deal on green beans this year was $1.25/can. That doesn’t work for me!

It would be cool to see what you are seeing and saving. It would also be a timeline to look back on at this time next year to compare. Great idea 😊

Thank you! I’m making a compilation of different things we are freeze drying as well as using the Avid Armor for sealing jars of dry goods to save money. It should come out in a couple of weeks.

Same price here. We buy the biggest whole ones we can get. We each get the limit. My son cuts them and every bit gets used. The fat usually ends in a pot of beans but making lard might be good. It can also be saved to mix in when grinding venison.

Thank you, Rena! We haven’t rendered fat before. I like your ideas! Happy holidays!

I’d love to see that, Michelle. Those are beautiful steaks. We haven’t had ANY beef steaks, or any cuts of beef on sale in a very long time. Just keeps going up! Thanks so much! 🥰

Nanny Tam, I so understand. Beef has gone sky high. This ribeye was less than the price of ground beef lately. I couldn’t resist. Thanks for watching. I’m going be turning the camera/phone on more often when I do some of these things. They cost money and time up front, but we end up having better food and don’t have to pay a waiter to serve it.

@@BigValleyLiving Absolutely! I’m keeping my eye on sales. My granddaughter and I may be taking a trip to Nashville soon. It’s a couple of hours, but they actually have a lot of beef cuts on sale. Weighing the pros and cons. Gas money, and time spent on the road. Is it really going to save money in the long run, versus paying full price? Anyway, those steaks are absolutely beautiful 🥰

Im trying to add a bit more red meat to my diet. Rib eye takes a while to cook but its easy to seasoj and eat and can be used with just about anything.
For the record i would love to see it. Im trying to switch over to cooking 95% of all my meals and only doing take out when necessariy.
The fact that you also vaccum seal tells me you have alot to show that i would be interested in.

Glad to hear it. We just freeze-dried some stew and vacuum sealed it with an oxygen absorber. First time ever. It was fun and interesting to watch the bag "deflate" over the period of an afternoon.
