That avid armor is amazing!!! Thank you for sharing your ideas. I try and stay prepared as much as possible.
You are so welcome!
I love the idea of freeze dried leftovers. Thank you for sharing how easy it is to use them!
You are so welcome!
Love having freeze dried soups/stews on hand. Thank you for showing us what it’s like to use these amazing foods in a power outage situation.
You are so welcome!
Thank you for joining the collaboration. You gave a lot of very helpful information. I really like the idea of being able to adjust the thickness of the soup for each person's preference.
You’re welcome! Yes, we have very different views of the perfect soup in our house, haha!
Freeze-drying leftovers is such a wonderful idea! Those would be great on our "fend for yourself" nights. Everyone can eat whatever they want! Thank you for sharing these ideas and participating in this collaboration!
Exactly! It really makes it easy to grab whatever sounds good!
Having a freeze dryer for leftovers is amazing, especially when your a family of 2 and are used to cooking a pot of soup for a large family! I loved seeing your power outage night… all you needed was a pot of boiling water and you had everyone covered for dinner! The 4 legged furry babies and yourself!
Thank you! It was kind of fun...
You know most people don't think about freeze drying prep for their animals. That's a fantastic idea! I know that cute little dog appreciated you thinking of her. Thanks for all the great ideas.
Oh, yes. They see "their" bowls, and it is game time, lol! It's a game-changer for feeding your pets. You just have to research to make sure that they only get what they can have, as well as experimenting with what they actually like. We always keep a couple of bowls of kibble around for free-feeding, as well.
Thank you for sharing this idea for the leftovers! It definitely helps those of us who tend to make enough for an army when we're only feeding one small group instead.
YES! I see that I'm definitely not the only one, haha!
I hadn't thought of packaging up soups in single serving food saver bags. Love this tip. Thank you for sharing.
You’re welcome! *Note: Use 5-mil bags for anything with rice or noodles!*
Thank you for the ideas and showing how you use the freeze dried soups. Great way to have options in a disaster.
You’re welcome. I can’t believe that right after I made the soup, we lost power. It sure is handy!
I love that the freeze dryer is so versatile in preparing! We love our pets and I love that you can do treats and food for them as well.
Honestly, if we weren’t wanting to FD food for ourselves, I would make our dogs’ food and make a cottage business for tigers.
Great ideas of using your freeze dried foods especially your soups, leftovers and dog food. Thanks for sharing in this collaboration.
You're very welcome! Thank you for watching. I wanted to be sure to try and inspire how we use it Tilly in different ways.
Love the variety of ingredients you can use to make freeze dried soups. So many possibilities. Thank you for sharing
Yes, it is amazing!
soups are a wonderful thing to have on hand for the sick season or for even quick meals.
Yes! In my opinion, every day is a good day for soup!
I like the idea of just rehydrating lunch on the go at work. Thank you for sharing
Yes! In fact, I have my pea soup ready for tomorrow!
Soups are so convenient freeze-dried thank you for participating in this wonderful collaboration
You are so welcome!
Thank you for the great information! With every video I watch makes me want a freeze dryer even more. Great information! I really love how you showed us to use the freeze dried food. Thank you!
You are so welcome! We looked at them for over two years before taking the plunge. I would never go back.
So many great ideas for using the freeze dryers! Thank you!! I still cook like I have a houseful, so I love the idea of freeze drying the leftovers. The dog’s face while watching you work was so adorable ❤
I love saving the leftovers! I’ll tell Miss Daisy Belle (my dog) that you complimented her. 😊
Watch the food come back to life makes me so grateful that I have started this journey for my family. I cook big, so having it be more than just be several days of leftovers is a win! Thank you for sharing how you use your Freeze Dried foods.
YES! I didn't mind leftovers for days, but after decades of it, I sure like this option. I agree with you - watching the food rehydrate is a blast! If you know, you know. You know? 😉🤣
I don't have a freeze drier but I sure am learning alot about what to do with one. I'm really liking the idea of freeze drying left overs. Great idea Michelle.
Glad you like them!
Having freeze dried meals in jars or bags is awesome. I gifted my widowed mom a basket if beautiful meals in jars because she would not cook for herself. She either snacked or went for fast food. She loves these.
That is so sweet! Yes, for someone who doesn't want the hassle of cooking, this is such a healthy alternative. You're a good daughter! God bless you.
Love your doggie and I hope you shared. Thanks for showing the many ways you have been using the freeze dryer this year.
You are so welcome! And thank you. She is the best dog EVER!
Such great and convenient soups to have on your shelves. Easy meals on the go or as back ups. Thank you for participating.
Any time! Thank you for your kind words!
What a fantastic video on how to reconstitute freeze dried soups and chili. Thank you for being a part of #freezedriedfebruary. Have a blessed week.
Glad you enjoyed it!
These are such great ideas for easy, ready-to-go meals or emergency preparedness! Thank you so much for sharing :)
You're super welcome! I had the "preparedness" part in the back of my mind, but convenience was the driver. Then we lost power for two days...BAM! Problem solved.
So many really great ideas in your video-thank you!! Freeze drying left over soups and chili makes so much sense!!
Thank you so much!
Freeze drying your own instant soup with ingredients you want. This would be great to keep in my desk for a quick lunch. Thank you sharing 😊
YES! These are perfect for lunch, and take little to no planning. Half the time, I don't even choose a soup until the morning of...I like choices!
Thank you for your participation. So much good information about preserving home made foods that taste so good. Saves on waste and tastes great. Yum
It's my pleasure
This is a great idea for camping and using up leftover foods that would otherwise go to waste. Thank you!
It is just so handy. And with limited pantry space, it is really nice for preserving fresh veggies and soups of any kind.
What an absolutely wonderful use of your freeze dryer…. Favorite meals at the ready in an instant! And as you said, perfect for emergencies! Appreciate the share! ♥️
You are so welcome!
I can not wait to get a freeze dryer! There have been so many good ideas in these videos. I love the idea for soups.
I'm so glad you like the collaboration AND our ideas. Good luck!
Cant wait to try recipes for soups on my rv trips! Thanks for your contribution to this years collaboration.
We love them when camping!
All the different ideas! Freeze drying chili I'm just floored how many different meals you showed! Thanks for sharing the leak proof lids!😊
Thank you, and you’re welcome! Those leak-proof kids are a game changer!
This is an awesome way to use the freeze dried food! Thank you for all the ideas!
You are so welcome!
I LOVE your ideas for freeze drying leftover meals! This is exactly what we had talked about using a freeze dryer for. Thank you for demonstratimg how to rehydrate these foods, as well..
You are so welcome!
Love the idea of freeze dried soups in the thermos. Thanks for the video.
Thank you! It makes life so easy!
Thank you. I've seen people put random leftovers on the different trays, seperate meals of course and freeze dried all of them. I never would've thought to do that.
That would work well, too! We usually have a try or two for leftovers. I don’t know if I would be diligent enough to do a bowl here and a bowl there. I wish I had that kind of dedication, haha!
These soups look awesome and appreciate you sharing how you use your freeze dryer! 😊👍❤️
Thank you! It is a game-changer!
Thank you for all the great ideas. I love being able too use my leftovers wisely.
You are so welcome! We all spend time preparing food. No need to waste it!
I love freeze drying, it's great to preserve the things that you cannot pressure can. Chili and soups/stews are my favorite. I'm going to make a big batch of lasagna and freeze dry that too. Thanks, this collaboration has been wonderful!
So true!
That is such a great economical idea for work or camping lunches. Any meal you want convenience for. Thank you for sharing your process.
You’re very welcome. It is definitely a game-changer!!!
Thank you so much for all the good ideas to save left overs.
You are so welcome!
Thank you for all those ideas how to use the freeze-dried foods.
You're welcome!
We always have leftovers, too. I am seeing the major benefits to a freeze drier. Thank you for sharing!
It really is helpful. I wouldn’t do burritos. I have learned from other freeze dry channels. Tortillas apparently don’t rehydrate well.
@@BigValleyLiving thank you for the heads up!
I love all soups and it is so handy to have freeze dried soups on hand! 😊
YES! I never met a soup I didn't love.
Thank you for sharing some wonderful quick meal ideas by using freeze-dried leftovers.
You're very welcome!
Thank you Michelle learning is fun when retired 😂❤thank you
You are so welcome!
Prepared for anything!!! I just got a freeze dryer--I'm excited to get it all set up and start preserving. Thank you so much fir sharing.
YAY! You’re going to love it!!!
Great ideas for leftover soups and chilis. I really liked the idea of bring freeze dried soup and a thermos of hot water to make a hot meal on the go.
It really makes life easy. I hope you try (and line) this plan.
Thanks so much for sharing your experience with using your leftover soups for the #freezedriedfebruary collab!
Any time! Thanks for the invitation!!!
This has been so informative…. Thanks for being a part…. Always love soups, so this wil be fun to try
Hope you enjoy!
You are very creative with your ideas. Thank you for sharing so many ways to use what you freeze dry. I agree with you making and taking your lunch is the way to go.
Thanks! Yeah - we are doing a lot more gardening as well as exploring on weekends. Easy meals are key.
Our freeze dryer is ordered. My husband is looking forward to taking hot lunches to work for a change. Thanks for the step by step.
Congratulations! You’re both going to love it!
Oh my gosh!!!! That looks fabulous!!! Split pea! CHILI! Stew!!!! And Sterno idea is terrific!!!!!
Thank you. I hope I inspired you!
Thank you for sharing. I really appreciate learning about rehydrating the freeze dried foods. I haven’t tried freeze drying the left overs for that very reason but that will be next to try. Thank you so much.
You are so welcome! We are just getting into the leftovers, and I’m already hooked!
TY for sharing such awesome ideas of soups to freeze dry. I plan to try your ideas as I too make large batches of soups and get tired of eating it until itis gone. This collaboration has been great to watch and learn new ideas!
Love this! You can do it.
Hi Michelle! There are some wonderful prizes 🎉 I love the idea of making a variety of soups to freeze for a quick easy meal or yes, to take camping! Thanks for participating, appreciate your input/information!
You’re welcome!
Love the idea of freeze drying leftovers and making single size meals for work. No waste and save money on either take out or store bought frozen from the store. Also, made me think about the weight between canning food and freeze drying which has become a little bit of an issue for me. Thanks for a great video!
Thanks for watching! I’m a mostly ingredient canner and freeze dryer. After making the soups and FD the stew, it has made a difference. There are times when you just do t have the time or energy for all of the work it takes to “whip up” a home-cooked meal.
Thank you for all of these wonderful ideas.
You are so welcome!
That was some great information! especially for power outages and to just do little single servings ! Brilliant! I can't wait till i get a freeze dryer one day!
Excellent! It is worth it if you can get one!
Love the idea of freeze dry leftovers. I live alone now and I can’t seem to help but cook big most meals. I share a lot!
Same here! Thank you for watching!
Thank you for your great ideas of FD left overs! Nice variety too!
You’re so welcome! Thank you for watching!
I LOVE soups, stews, chilis… no matter the season or weather. What a great idea to bring along on trips (I get hangry very easily 😂). And a much better option than drive throughs and fast food!! Thank you so much for sharing!!😊
There is not a bad season for soups. You can quote me on that, haha! Yeah, for the last 9 months or so, it seems like even the simplest of drive-thru meals are $20-$35, and we are left feeling disappointed. So - we use this beautiful machine that increasingly pays for itself every month.
So much great info!!! Thanks for you participation:) Soups and chilli are now on my list.
AWESOME!!!
Love your use of preserving leftovers.
I just can’t cook small batches of soups…I have tried, though. Haha!
I have been canning to have soups on the shelf ready to go but I think freeze drying would be a great addition to my food storage.
It will. And I ran out of shelf space for jars, so this is also a space-saving solution.
It was one of the hardest things for me to learn was to cook smaller after spending so many years making big meals.... But I love your examples of ways to use those leftover meals after freeze drying them. And showing so many ways to use them. Thank you for sharing your awesome knowledge.
Thanks! Space was a driving force for us!
Enjoying all the information innthese videos. I am 7 months into owning my freeze dryer and I am really beginning to see the many benefits it can/could provide.
It took us a while to realize the benefits of preserving leftovers. Total game changer!
Thanks for sharing your experience. I love soups and chili and love the idea of having it especially with power outages.
You’re welcome! It really is handy when the power goes out.
Thanks for sharing how you freeze dry your leftovers. I also freeze dry leftovers and anything else in the refrigerator that is getting old,
Great tip! We have to save where we can!
I love this. I`m still learning. And I`m old !! lol
😊
Can't tell you how many times I've taken heat over the years about preparing meals for my dogs! Recently that has changed but Good For You! I love the plan!
I’m so glad I’m not the only one. Those freeze dried subscription-type dog foods are $pendy. And we know what our babies are getting!
Thank you so much for taking your time to post for us
You’re welcome!
I really enjoyed your video. My husband and I have talked about ways to use our freeze dried food if there is no power. You used items that most people have in their home. Thanks for the ideas. Thank you for sharing and your time.
You’re very welcome! I called Angela @TheInquisitiveFarmwife the night we lost power, and she encouraged me to make something. So glad I did!
I have freeze dried some soups and they always turn out great....thanks for sharing...
So glad! Thanks for watching!
We love having freeze dried soup on hand. Such a quick easy meal. I freeze dry most of our leftovers. Just save them in the freezer and when there is enough, in the freeze dryer they go.
Perfect!
These are great ideas for quick meals. Thanks so very much.
You are so welcome! Thanks for watching!
Those machines are Awesome with freeze drying ideas
Thank you!
Love the video and the different ideas. The soup in the baggies was so smart.
Thanks so much! 😊
I love these ideas! I really do need to step up my game on freeze drying meals. I usually just do fruits & individual ingredients. Thanks for the ideas!!❤
You are so welcome! We are generally ingredient canners and FD, too. I’m trying to step
out of my comfort zone this year.
Thank you! I’m loving freeze dried February!
You’re welcome, and thank you!
I love that you can freeze dry all of these soups and chilis. I had my husband and 2 boys that could eat like an army. We are older and boys have grown and now just us. I have been working on trying to make smaller amounts but i still end up with too much. I have one son that has been in an accident that struggles with making his own food and two set of elders. Those all being able to just add boiling water to a homegrown and shelf stable meal would be awesome. Thank you for such inspiration!!!
I haven’t had to cook for a crowd for the longest time, but I can’t help it. Now, it is ore-cooking, so the meals make life easier on busy days, or days when I just want to finish a project or a good book!
Thank you for participating in this collaboration. Your recipes are fabulous!! ❤
You are so welcome! And thank you for the compliment!
Great use of leftovers. Thanks for sharing Michelle.
You are so welcome!
Thank you for all of the ideas.
You are very welcome!
Thank you for all the ideas. We are planning a Road Trip later this year and we had talked about wanting to take food rather than buying at restaurants along the way. I was pondering what to take, and you've given me some great ideas.
Awesome! Heck, yes. Save that money and eat food that you know you like! I wish we would have had this when cross-country trucking. Truckstop food wasn't that great when it was your only choice.
Oh yum! Love having something that is that easy to make. Thank you
Me, too. Especially as spring is coming, and we spend more time in the garden.
Great ideas, thanks for showing the dog food as well.
Our pleasure!
Your videos are always so wonderful. Thank you!
Awww, thank you so much!
I love that you make freeze dried foods that your dog can eats. That's so awesome and I love chili. I should make some to go on my shelf. Thank you for the ideas.
You’re very welcome. Our dogs love the food we make. Plus, everything in their food is human safe. If a catastrophe happened, we could ALL eat the ingredients!
We are big soup/stew eaters during the cold months. When I cook, I make large batches of soup 15 quarts at a time. I am very interested in learning how to freeze dry soups to add another way to store food in addition to pressure canning. Thank you for your inspiring video!
Thank you for the kind words! 15 quarts of soup? That is AWESOME!
Soups and chilis are some items I really want to learn to freeze dry! Thanks for sharing ❤️
Hope you enjoy. They’re some of the easiest things to do, in my experience.
Great idea for a small meal.Thank you for the video.
You’re welcome.
Love all these ideas! Thank you for sharing!
Glad you like them!
Love the thermos soup idea. Your puppy is so cute too!
Thank you!! 😊 She is such a sweet girl!
I just got our freeze dryer a couple of weeks ago. We have experimented with fruits and milk so now it is time to try some meals. Thank you for showing the different types of soups that you do.
Congratulations! You're very welcome. I love freeze dried blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries. YUM!
I’m so glad I found you Chanel , you have inspired me! I have only freeze dried ingredients not meals, now I’m excited to start!
We did ingredients the first 9 months, then started at looking at what we “thought” we would eat within a few days. After a month of throwing delicious food in the trash, we discovered this plan. I’ll never look back.
Thank you for so many ideas! I enjoyed the video! Pea soup is a favorite of mine also!
Awesome!
Looking forward to FD leftovers, this all soooo new to me. Think I'll find containers to fit several in a tray & freeze portions in them that when there's enough to fill the machine we'll run them.
Great plan!
I’m so excited to start freeze drying. Thanks for the inspiration.
You are so welcome!
