    The Buckingham-Nicks version of the Mac had only one album of new material in 1975. So they fleshed out their concerts with songs from earlier eras.

    I absolutely adore the original. It is brilliant. It is haunting. It's like nothing else I've ever heard. But holy fuck, I also love this version. Lindsey's guitar absolutely captured the battle with insanity and then Stevie, god, it was like she was trying to ward off the manalishi and I wish they had kept the song going another minute for her to really start belting it out. Just absolutely magical.

    • @Guitarpaul666
      @Guitarpaul666 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      you expressed my thoughts exactly , adding another minute at the end would have been incredible, and so unlike lyndsey to not pick up on that and keep it going, but holy shit what a version. I am a massive fan of most versions including of course the original. I have posted a link to this great version played on Peter's actual les Paul and mick on drums and some other people I am sure you wlll recognise ... musically it's phenomenal and the best I ever heard Kirk play anything, he is totally inspired.

    A classic. Although I was a teen in the 80s so the Judas Priest version is my favorite, the original stands the test of time. They're just different styles, neither better nor worse: acid rock era, vs the British metal era. Take your pick: eye of the beholder, & all that.

If you're more into pop/commercial music, then the later Mac is for you. I personally prefer the Peter Green/Bob Welch periods but the later Mac had good music too.

      He is one of the finest guitar players alive today and even the other contenders both alive and dead admitted they wished they had his skill. These people talking all the negativity are just seeing things with a romantic viewpoint and I get that. I just wish Lindsey could have added his own guitar technique to the song which would have made it a thousand times better. Back then though it wasn’t acceptable to do that as much as it is today or was, since real music is no longer created as often as it was back then. I think Stevie Nicks in 1975 had the voice (and the presence, because her beauty was at the zenith here) to make it the best version ever of this song, but she simply didn't sing it technically well as she could have done. I mean, she could have done much better, with her voice and talent. 100% agree on Lindsey's great technical performance, but lack of gravitas in the voice.
