Running from 1993-2009, Late Night with Conan O’Brien is one of the most beloved late night shows in television history. Known for its absurdist humor, hilarious celebrity interviews and featuring the best stand-up comedians and musical acts of the 90’s and early 2000s. Can you guys tell me what he was actually (non) promoting? It sounded like a standup at first, then like a special episode of curb? I watched all of Curb i think but wouldn't know what episode would qualify as a special. If it was a standup, i'd do my dangest to try and find it somewhere!
@@AkiroKiro It's a 1,5 hour long mocklumentary about Larry returning to standup and filming a show with that. It's on HBO with the rest I think.

@@Nekotaku_TV Jeff confirmed last month on Instagram they were to start filming in November! and a couple of images of them filming have surfaced on a Curb Facebook group I'm in, which you can see is recent due to crew members wearing masks lol. so it's happening!
I thought I've seen all Conan and LD interviews, but I guess they pulled this one out of the old vault. Great stuff. I hope this means that LD will be making an appearance on the show sometime soon. Can never get enough of these two.
Curb is such an amazing gift, this man is one of the greatest comedic writers in modern history! Great interactions with Conan and Andy.
Larry David it’s always strangely constrained with Conan. He told once that he think Conan it’s too much smart to be with, and I think in some way, he’s intimidated by Conan wittiness. Pretty, pretty, interesting.
I agree! Though I love Larry David, I prefer Conan’s charm and wit over his.

The interesting thing is that Larry David being a really intelligent person it's overwhelmed by, I don't know if this is the right description, Conan's intellectual status? Because they have a great chemistry but I think Larry feels overwhelmed with Conan in some way. He's more habituated to listen people laughing at his observations but not generating dialogue and going deeper on them.
I get the feeling that his winning time was about twenty minutes.
@@felipeiglesias I think it may be that Larry is more used to being the wacky guy to other people's straight guy. And yet Conan is almost always the wacky one on his show. I could see how it would be awkward for him.

This is crazy because no one knew in the audience who this guy was and didn't understand his comedy. He was just some random writer during this. Conan said "good luck." I think he succeeded lol
FanVault He was the co creator, co writer and co producer of the most critically acclaimed, popular and commercially successful sitcom of the 90's. He was not some "random writer". They did not know him completely visually but we all had seen his name in the credits for many years and had seen him in interviews with him and Jerry. Slightly anonymous is more like it. Fans of the show knew that Larry David was the inspiration for George Costanza. When Larry left Seinfeld after season 7 it was news material widely printed.

It's really fascinating seeing Larry be so uncomfortable with fame back in 99. He seems much more comfortable doing interviews now.

It's the end of an era, man. But he knows what he's doing, and I can only wish him the best and that he and his people are happy. He's been on TV for 28 years when people initially gave him only months and he's got the respect of all the greats. You go, Glen Coco!

I agree with Larry. I don't like celebrity interviews, because I'm bored by, and just don't like a lot of celebrities. I prefer their characters

I'm thinking how different the audience reaction would be to everything Larry said if they had "known" Larry (well, at least his Curb character) at the time ('99, before Curb).
Note: Please remember that although George stated in the Hand Model episode that he had won the contest, he later revealed in the finale that he had cheated and lied.

Not true. For example, "The Soup Nazi" is based on ideas and experiences from Spike Feresten, and so are many other Seinfeld episodes.
