5 mins per 20 ft puts his pace at ~0.05 mph so he will make it to his meeting 8 mi away in about a week. (If he doesn't take breaks. Which - let's be honest - Kevin Nealon never takes a break! 😂)
I just found out about him today by randomly clicking his podcast interview with Conan where Conan had to throw out the notes because dude was so random. Always knew of the guy but couldn't really tell you about his work. Anyways, the interview left me intrigued, and here I am cracking up at this surprisingly hilarious and creative bit or appearance.

Yeah its great, I watched it for the fisrt time about a month ago and I thought it was just gonna be some bit, but its not, and its awesome... there just so funny, and warm and interesting, I love them lol
A lot of talk of Steve Martin doing something like this on Carson. I think it's safe to say that Nealon admired the bit, and saw the opportunity to evolve it, and in my opinion, was very successful in doing so. Either that, or it was just parallel thinking, but it seems likely that Nealon would be familiar with Martin's bit. Steve Martin's bit on Carson: th-cam.com/video/YpOGB4SkcM4/w-d-xo.html
I love when conans guests do what Carson’s guests do, like when norm McDonald did a Rodney Dangerfield type thing, Conan feels like a modern version of Johnny Carson
In my humble opinion this is one of the most classic comedy bits ever it will go down in my history along with who's on first from Abbott and Costello and the like. Love this dude
If I were Conan, I would love when guests carry their comedic weight like this. Some just sit their expecting Conan to do it all. Nelson is a class act.
Steve Martin did a similar bit on the Johnny Carson show. He sounded very sincere about having to attend a very important meeting and had to leave right away. Johnny’s reaction was genuine as he said his goodbyes. Steve exits the stage, but to everyone’s surprise, he returns, sits back down, and sheepishly apologizes to Johnny about making up the whole thing. He really didn’t have anywhere else to go. It was hilarious. Kevin’s take was slightly different, and equally as funny. I think that maybe he returned one too many times, but it was a good bit.
I saw that when it first aired. As a huge Steve Martin fan I never missed his appearances on the Tonight Show. They were all great but that one was near the top. My favorite was one where Johnny introduced him and said what a down to Earth guy Steve was, even with all his success. Then Steve comes out wearing outrageous attire, doing crazy stuff like drinking from a champaign bottle and tipping Tommy Newsome from a wad of cash. It was great. Can't find it on TH-cam.

Steve Martin did a similar bit on Carson where he said he had to go early but came back crying saying he was lying because everyone else always says they have to go early. So funny
This is a twist on Steve Martin - Johnny Carson Tonight Show bit. It's not easy to better their bit, not at all, but Nealon - Conan pulls it off. Shows the talent.
Not until Nealon was on Conan’s podcast, which was a real tear-jerker (I was laughing that hard), did I realize how funny and inscrutable is Kevin Nealon. He is Conan’s kryptonite.
This is why Conan is the best talkshow host. No other host would allow a guest to do that to that extent. If Kevin did that on the Late Show, Stephen Colbert would probably get annoyed and try to stop the bit. Thank goodness, Conan has a sense of humor and allows his comedic guests to be comedians.

I just can't see this working on another talk show.

One of a couple signs that Conan is genuinely laughing, when he puts his face in hand hahaha.
he is always genuinely laughing. he isn’t fallon
I'm disappointed that I only recently discovered the comedic genius of Kevin Nealon.
He had Conan ready to burst a lung laughing. Norm and Kevin both knew how to make Conan lose his composure. Good stuff.
I love how Nealon used the actual talk show format to get creative and do comedy.
What made Conan so great was that he gave these folks a space to stretch their comedy that wouldn't of gone over as well on another show.
