I'm so grateful for The Thompson Method videos, as well as others on TH-cam. I watched, visualized, and learned as much as I could. I worked with a hospital midwife and told her I would not be induced before 42 weeks unless I was seriously ill. I did my best to walk a mile each day, even up to the last day of my pregnancy (although I had to stop every 5 minutes to catch my breath and was passed by those who were in their 70's frequently on the track). I'm so grateful that I had the knowledge to have a powerful birth. I woke up at 5:00 AM, labored at home, alone, until 9:00 AM, woke my husband and then we made it to the hospital by 10:30. I had my darling daughter at 1:00 that afternoon alone with two nurses, my midwife, and just me and the baby. I asked my husband to stay out so I could focus solely without any type of concern over my image or body. It was a very powerful experience, no intervention, although I did give in and lay on my back, and for that I am sorry. This ended up with a 2nd degree tear. If I were to do it all over again, I'd refuse to lay on my back while pushing. I knew better, but did not have the energy to advocate for myself after and during the transition phase. All of this to say, for those who want this experience, work hard for it, advocate for yourself, and the Thompson Method is wonderful.
I had a hospital textbook birth. Induced and full of interventions.... The nurses said it was perfect. I felt traumatized! My second baby is being born in a birthing center with midwives and this video is so empowering, thank you
nurses are just there because nursing school was the last stop before a lifetime of "would you like fries with that?" they really tend to be quite dense. they are often drawn to the job to satisfy their own sadism, as well. and to be voyeurs. same with physicians, especially male ones who get into OB. very creepy. i stay far away and my babies are doing great.

Great video, thanks for the share!
Great questions!
Invaluable information! Wow thank you!
wonderful advice!
thank you
What do i do if its unavoidable? Unfortunate case of gestational diabetes and high bp.
do your research and be informed which interventions are necessary and which ones aren't. Always ask why
