1:34 I camped at that spot hiking to Whitney, from Cottonwood Lakes, a couple of years ago! Words can never do that place justice, nor pictures or video. The experience is one of a kind... One day I will thru hike the PTC. Thanks for sharing, David
Thank you so much for these wonderful thru-hike videos. It's really helpful for those of us who don't have the stamina to do this. You are one tough dude. I pat myself on the back for a 15-mile day hikes at sea level in the shade and need days to recuperate.
completed a thru hike of the JMT in 2013 and we spent our last night on top of mount Whitney before heading down to Whitney portal. It wa SO cold and windy and we stayed inside the hut. There was no door on the hut that season so we had to rig up a fly to try to keep out some wind. Awesome experience and nice to see there's a door again now!
Sharing means loving. We love you too Will :) Totally mind blowing views. Thanks so much for you taking us along, to such marvelous places!!! Happy trails!!
Just beautiful and breath taking!!! Might be the best view you posted to date. Love the new camera, seems like I could climb right through and join you all. First part of the hike down seemed a little crazy, glad the safety sallies haven't blocked it. Thanks again for all your effort and sharing the wonderful slices of creation. God bless my friend.
The perspective from your wide-angle camera lens certainly gives this particular viewer a bit of the willies as you thread your way along those narrow, rocky, precipitous trails, especially as you had your trekking poles in one hand and the camera in the other. I kept thinking, "Will, put down the camera and focus on your footing!" lol
This is the most amazing videos I've seen on youtube.... Your videos of the PCT is making me rethink my 2016 AT through hike plans.... Thanks for such a beautiful video.. Stay safe and can't wait on your next video...
Love the videos, if you feel like it could you do a general gear rundown about what you have, what's working, why you like what you have left ect. That would be awesome! Looks like your having a ton of fun on your adventure, thanks for sharing.
What's not "fair"? Not many of us get the luxury to not work to hike 760 miles to get there. What's important is getting out there and enjoying nature. Day hiker, section hiker, or thru hiker. We're all out there for the same reason.
great shots off the edges, felt a little scared watching it. normally don't have a fear of heights but those trails look tight and narrow especially with the snow.
Been watching your amazing PCT videos and wish I had the time and stamina to do such a hike. In the meantime, thank you for sharing your incredible journey! One question: "WHAT trail?!" So crazy!
That part made me jump in my PC chair and made my heart pound. I always play TH-cam through a stereo, for better sound quality. And that sounded like you fell to your doom there. 8:04
typically you are suppose to be about 200ft from the trail. But on the PCT you often see thru hikers sleeping in their sleeping pads about 3ft from the trail. I would never do so but people do it.
Is there a way to find out how Will and Daniel are doing? It appears to be 210 miles from Mt. Whitney to Nevada Falls and its been 2-1/2 weeks. I always was a worrier! Thanks
Does anyone know what camera he used to film? I can see in the shadows that it is small but I don't remember him ever saying or if I missed it sometime in the series.
As a kid In Scouts I had to turn back because of altitude (yea I woosed). But that does it,if that 80 yr old John Wayne type can climb it so can I. Great narration and ascent by you and Daniel. Are you going to go for triple crown on CDT or hiked it already?
Perfect day to climb Whitney! No wind, very little ice, plentiful wildlife, wonderful views. Awesome. Thank you.

Another awesome video! I will be doing the John Muir Trail from Yosemite to Whitney in 31 days!
Luke Shook Wish I was....but maybe next summer for me.....
Amazing scenery. Thanks for sharing! I've heard that area described as the moon. Sure looks like it to me.
Those views, whoa! Look amazing out there.
Absolutely stunning! Looks like a bunch of fun times man!

Hey Will, how often do you get recognized from your videos here on TH-cam while out on the trails?
On the Appalachian Trail it was pretty crazy out here on the PCT people recognize me from time to time especially on the JMT.
Wow, So nice to see this video, I was going to skip Mount Whitney in 2016. not now, bringing extra food just for that. Thanks Will
Awesome video bro. Excellent views and just an amazing thing to watch your journey. Keep it up buddy and safe trails!

Awesome... Simply Awesome. Thanks for sharing and enjoy you journey!

4k over 8 miles isn't too bad of climb, but the elevation that high is a Bi7ch. I always love the how the air pressure changes when heading down.

Red Beard that was a awesome hike, I gotta do that brother.
Did you know Daniel before this trip? Love these videos, very inspiring.
Im Brad Ya, doesn't Daniel have a trail name????
Man, Redbeard, I thought for sure you were locked in the hut on Mt. Whitney. :)
Awesome! Great job and well done Thanks for the videos**********
That was a huge marmot! Unbelievable views...my stomach was in my throat watching the sheer drop next to the trail. Was it as sketchy as it looked?
loving these videos.Thanks man.

Stunningly beautiful.
Loving the videos bro
Will your video's are incredible. Did you go up Whitney one way and come down another?
great video the trail looked awesome. how far do you need to be from the trail to stealth camp?
typically you are suppose to be about 200ft from the trail. But on the PCT you often see thru hikers sleeping in their sleeping pads about 3ft from the trail. I would never do so but people do it.
You can really see the effect of the 14-15 winter. One of the driest ever.
awesome video, made me dizzy looking at it.

Can confirm. 99 painful switchbacks. My legs remembers that day very well.
Curious, what water filter system did you use? Also, what were the temperature swings for you, especially on the summit?
How are you able to fund your trips? Do you work for a year and save money up and do the trail? I'm very curious, any feedback would be great!
Is it possible to leave pack somewhere safe (ranger station, base camp, bear box, etc.)for the day, then summit and back down same day?
Stunning!
Not gonna lie. This part of the trail scares me. Even watching the video I'm nervous. I don't even see the trail you are walking on.
Great video
Apologies if this was asked before, but what's the *new camera* Will?
Those marmots at the junction chewed up my pack two years ago. My fault - I left some bars in my hip belt pocket.
HamishMackenzie7 bummer.....plus they just love salty stuff so they'll chew up anything with your sweat on it
Will, what shoes were you wearing for your hike?
Does anyone know what camera he used to film? I can see in the shadows that it is small but I don't remember him ever saying or if I missed it sometime in the series.
Gabe Byers Sony hdr-as100v.
How many hours did you spend on this hike?
+Amanda Tripp I came for the PCT hike and it took all day 8-6
Your badass thanks for sharing
6:19 very true

8:00 'Not to difficult, I see ;)
You are going to wish you had brought a fishing pole for the next 200 miles.
That was so scary looking. I kept thinking... Don't fall... i would of never have made that hike without getting down on all four and crawling.
Beware, the evil marmot!!
Brian Mowers True. They will chew up your equipment and eat your food.
Sean M Ya, a mountain biker had the seat chewed off his bike way up in the Rockies in Colorado. He did not have a fun trip back down the trail.
