I think a lot of fans have a lot of misconceptions about the types but really it comes from the characters personality and interests but I think my little heart is probably the best example like think about it not only does hime give princess vibes to her as to oppose to the meaning of her name but her kind nature and spirit within her aikatsu and s4 activities but on stage is probably why she might be a popular choice amongst fans in her outfits you see keys locks and lots of pink like shes a princess from a fairytale , which also i think why so beautiful story is such and amazing song i know its not related to this topic but i wanted to point out how creative that was🌻
My Little Heart is probably one of y favourite brands
Vivid Kiss gives me vintage, 90s or 80s, disco vibes. Especially with psychedelic, denim and mixed patterned types of cloth being used.
It's got a lot of different subcultures in it as the major pop brand for the whole of Akari generation
Idol types really helps build up characters!
I agree with Anna and Mel having the celebrity and pop type respectively
Honestly Natural type deserve so much better and I really hope they will introduce a natural idol in Idol land or in a future pretty series

If I had to categorize the Primaji brands for each type, I’d categorize them like this:
Lovely Melody: Lovely
Vivid Star: Pop
Radiant Abyss: Cool
Eternal Revue: Celeb
Shining Diva: Celeb
Electro Remix: Pop
Cherry Sugar: Lovely
After recalling Auru's second Coord it could definitely be pop. I'd have to look into it more
I've always seen Star/Premium on Pretty Series more as an "wildcard" type:
-Generally speaking, this type doesn't have a consistent theme.
-In Pretty Rhythm, most of "Unit Coords" are Star, a good example of this are Bell Roses unit coords, while this coords represent each of the members aesthetics, they also have a cohesive style.
-Almost all of Legendary Coords are of this type, the exeption being Rainbow Lives, which are meant to represent each type.
-All of Godesses and messengers are Star/Premium, because they should represent all idols and styles.
It seems like their miscellaneous category. Technically, anything could be Star/Premium. It's a very nebulous type
I think, idols personality shouldn't determine what their type is, sure there's similarly among type but not always. This is what Kiratto try to remind, with Mel (Sexy with typical pop personality) and Anna (Cute with typical Sexy personality). Also i think ppl forgot that Mia (Pretty rhythm) is Sexy type
Note : I use Aikatsu type categorization.
After a year, I can appreciate Kiratto's approach to Mel and Anna a lot more.
With Anna, it feels like she dresses a sweet girl because she sees herself that way.
I love discussion vids like this! It's a really good breakdown of types that I haven't thought about before. The one thing I do have to add is that I really think the writers of these shows have been using types as a crutch for way too long. The lack of types really gives a variety to the Charcters we haven't seen before due to the archetypes either being deconstructed or mixed up to create something entirely new... Well for Pretty at least, because Planet did it just to make things "fresh" on a superficial level.
That's true. I think the Primagi cast is more unique than any cast prior. You really can't compare anyone
I actually like the prichan type choices, instead of based on personality it's based on their clothing preference which I think fits better
Mel has a bright and loud personality but like retro and cool clothing with darker colours
Anna wears a princess motif leaning into Victorian and lolita fashion which is often seen as lovely within this series. Characters like Aroma Lily and Lemon breaking from this with gothic lolita instead
Mirai is meant to give off "good girl next store" vibes with the Mary Janes and pony tail look. To bad her character was such a flop
Emo goes for sports or casual wear which IRL would be tracksuits and jerseys but with style added in. It's the furthest from the pop types inspiration of pop-kei but it's nice to see after Nino's Neon drip wasn't given much room
Prichan sucked but I appreciate the choices as an wearer alternative fashion.
If I had to pick a favourite brand I'd say Milky rainbow, it combines pastels and pop fashion with cute details and faux fur accents in its main pieces with more muted tones in it's more casual wear
This is a great perspective. I guess I should open up to idols who wear clothes that don't suit their personality
@@cureice another example would be Amari's Hysteric Bunny. Her cylune has bunny host inspiration with large polkadots all in black and white coming off as cool. the coord she wears on stage fits this too with studs, a huge grated belt and purple peonies to off set the look
Yet her her personality is completely off the walls and in her casual wear she dawn's an over sized hoodie, tutu and heavy deora-esc boots
Even with all of this, She's a lovely type. The combining features is they all feature white ruffles, splashes of color often being off set by black and or white and sweet details like the sailor collar, bunny ears or large over sized bow
If not milky Rainbow, Hysteric Bunny is definitely my second choice

Tbh I think the route they were going for in Pri chan was that a character’s personality doesn’t exactly equate to their fashion type like how it was in Pripara. Maybe they were doing something different.
What people forget is that things like Pop ethnic, and lovely are based off of real fashion styles like "pop-kei" "Ethnic-kei" and "lovely-kei"
Pri chan is simply the only series to embrace thus fact using the girls tastes instead of personality

@@cureice No just that because it's sometimes hard to tell the difrence between Cute and Pop they would fall under that type. I don't have that Problem with the other two.😊
Kirara from Aikatsu and Miruki from Primagi are pretty good examples of this.😊
Bruh forgot Koharu Nanakura is the only Sexy type Aikatsu idol who had short hair 😢
It's sad that they dressed her in RBF after season 1😔
