- I STILL DON’T KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO BARB?!?! Look man, I love this show - watching Stranger Things for the first time is like the first time I went to the circus. I didn’t know people could do such amazing cool sh*t!! This show is so good, has such intrigue, and such twisty-turns, there’s no way to hide my enthusiasm for it all. We’ve learned more about Eleven, we’re getting deeper into the mystery of what the DOE is doing in its research lab, and now poor Winona has someone who believes in her! React with me to Stranger Things, season 1 part 2!

I know everone says how amazing actors the kids are in this, and they totally are, but can we please give a hell yeah to winona ryder, she plays the distraught out of her mind mom so well !!
It makes sense for eleven to get nosebleed (and bloody ears) if you think about it. One of the main symptoms of a TBI is bleeding from the ears nose and mouth. She’s constantly causing massive strain on her brain when she does it.

And to answer your question at 22 minutes : yes, the references to DnD all exists in the game.

Yep! By all accounts, Matthew Modine is a lovely man in real life.
In fact Millie's family put Matthew Modine while they were filming and he is super protective of Millie.

Stranger Things, although it did use some real D&D references, The Vale of Shadows was something the creators of the show invented. I don't play D&D, although my son does.
Matthew Modine is the actor for papa and he’s actually really nice in real life and he’s a great actor yall should watch more stuff with him

The best description of Stranger Things i ever heard was the adults are in a Stephen King novel, the teenagers are in a John Carpenter film and the kids are in a Steven Spielberg movie.
I just cannot get over the set up-pay off of Hopper and one of the other cops in an early episode (maybe even episode 1? Can't remember for sure) at that cliff, and Hopper explains that jumping off will kill you bc at that height water is like concrete. Then this episode, Mike jumps to his death for his friends (though none of them seem to know that bit)
I do play D&D, it might of been called the Vale of Shadows in first edition DnD, but I think it refers to the Shadowfell (aka Plane of Shadow, Demi plane of shadow, Shadowland, Shadow or Shadow Deep).

IMO, the least realistic thing of the ENTIRE series is Nancy climbing into the tree, without checking in with Jonathan or anything. Like... whaaaa
Me watching Hopper in his first few scenes: "Can we hurry up and kill this douchebag?"
Me watching Hopper in the 5th episode: "I swear to God, if they kill off Hopper I will burn Netflix to the ground!"
Such great character writing in this series.
The Vale of Shadows is just a name of a valley taken from the Forgotten Realms canon; the Upside-down is very similar to the Shadowfell, a parallel dimension of death and shadow. So yes, they definitely took the idea from D&D. Be prepared for a lot of that in this show ;)
U guys should watch Fringe, it's all this nerdy, freaky weird science stuff! U'll totally love it, and u'll fall in love with Walter immediately.
I'm a year late here but I need to rep team Stoncy! Aka Steve x Jonathan x Nancy. OT3 for real. The three of them together just bring a balance to their dynamic that is lacking with any separate pair of them.

There is nothing more satisfying than watching a skeptical fictional character realize that the other "crazy" character was right all along. I feel like the entirety of The X-Files was based on this premise. 😂
