Joker Knives are made for Spanish hard wood like olive trees, pines, etc.. We think a knife price can't be more than 100 or 120 euros. This is our market. We use bohler N695, Sandvik 14c28N which are good steels, they work well, resist the corrosion well too and keep the edge so good. This a beast knife, not very heavy and their lines are made to work, this is not a tactical knife. I recommend 2 u, the Joker Bushcrafter and the Joker Ember to do fine works. The Joker Montañero is a good option too. I'm a huge fan of this channel. Greetings from Spain

I bought the Joker Nomad last year (walnut handle/ play liner + fire stick) You know when you're searching for a knife and you have a certain look, feel and function in mind but don't know where to get it - then I saw the Nomad and it was like a vision "That is THEE knife I am looking for".. and the first time I took it out in the wilds I was not disappointed. Made fire with it, made dinner with it and ate dinner with it. On my own in a forest thinking of all the worst forest-based horror movies but then thinking "if anyone was to sneak up on me and see me eating by campfire with this BEAST of a knife they'd be more likely to spin right around and take off" Ha ha... Great review as always brother.

@@tigerpisces5506 manufacturers in general don't do convex edge because it's far easier to put a normal bevel.
But a convex edge will stand up to abuse better than a normal edge.
As far as keeping them sharp , it's usually done on a leather strop loaded with cutting compond .
Sharpening on a sharpening stone if blunt, is not hard , is a done with a slight rocking motion. Plenty of utube sites will show you how it's done.

Just received my nomad. Ordered it after seeing your review. I gotta say it is a lovely knife. Living in the uk it’s great to have a option for knives a bit closer to home instead of ordering from the US all the time. The only problem I now have is I’m eyeing up another 3 joker knifes. Absolutely love the thing. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Keep up the good honest reviews. God bless

I bought the joker nomad and the joker bushcrafter. I have many knives ranging from tops, esee, coldsteel knives with 3v steel about 4, kabar, Benchmade, lion steel etc etc. I've seen dark timbers and used them and used sooo many knives. I own quite a collection. But seriously hands down I've never had a knife cut and produce work like my joker knives. The nomad cuts like a mora and so does the smaller bushcrafter. It came razor sharp out of the box a and its simple as pie to resharpen. My jokers r my favorite knives. And I never saw it coming.

Nice video, in regards to the pop studs you could remove them with flush cut snips and insert a couple of leather work copper hose rivets through the old holes washers on the out side. A Block of metal will need to be slipped into the sheath to back up the rivers and then trim and Pein them on the out side.

My first impressions.... a small beast of a knife! My grind is a bit off at the tip, but because it's hand made at a good price, I'll accept that. Stainless is wonderful, as lately I gravitate away from anything non-stainless. Wicked sharp edge. The green micarta handle is a good length and thickness however is a bit slick. They fill my hand nicely. The leather sheath is first class and my loop button snaps are on so tight, it takes a deliberate effort to un-snap them, let alone re-snap them. So they must have made a button change. I'm very picky with my knives and I sure like this Nomad. Now if only they made the exact same knife with a 7 inch blade, I'd be stoked!

Another option is to remove the snaps and replace them with 2 chicago screws which will solve the problem quick and easy. You can get them at tandy leather. I personally do not like snaps at all just for these reasons as they can get caught on things and get unsnapped so I always try to avoid them or replace them when ever I can with something better.

That is a really sweet knife. The prices seem reasonable too. I live in Pennsylvania and the North Central PA woods is the place to get lost with a knife like that. Great video. Thanks.

I'd choose an area directly outside of Gatlinburg, Tennessee, near the foothills of Smokey mountains. Though there's bears, I believe such a knife would be useful for debarking tree limbs that'll make for firewood, stakes, starting holes, the fat belly of the knife would be more ideal for food prep, and with its sheer size, it could ultimately be used as a defensive tool towards wildlife.
I've personally never done any form of camp knives as I've always stuck to folders. I believe the girth of the knife would be much more ideal than a skinnier handle for a majority of the tasks you're showcasing, which is the reality when it comes to hand strength, and having a good gripping knife that'll relieve and preserve energy.
Thanks for the review, and good luck to everyone in the giveaway.

Excellent review - that blade shape (and overall size) is intriguing. Would love to get lost while hiking the MA section of the AT with that knife.

Before glueing the buttons, maybe try fixing them. Get a flat punch and mushroom out the male side a little. That will increase the tension.
Another excellent review of an excellent knife. I will be getting it once they have it in stock again.
