I like to PvP, and PvE. Usually wearing an Exo Suit nowadays. Unlocking it is easy with no cheats needed anymore, and usually on a server, official or unofficial, I'm not fussed. Single Player is great though, certainly with a guide for any platform be it xbox, ps4, ps5, pc, it's great. Sometimes play MTS, and usually post patch/update. But a survival game needs some community news and that's what I do, giving you the latest on events, small tribes, maybe even fast flyers and primitive plus, usually covering all maps from Island to Genesis Part 2. And one day. ARK 2!

I think rock drake is so high because people dont have as many bad experiences with them as with wyverns and manas, I mean pvp experiences

Wow... the Velonasaur didn't even get a spot in the honourable mentions.
The bullet dinosaur doesn't get enough love.
Their sluggishness gives velonasaurs a steep learning curve so a lot of people never see the potential in them.
I reached this conclusion after 10 minutes in single player cheat mode.

Its actually the second best boss fighter period. He has 870 base health a bit less than the rex but with sweet veggie that just delete the 230less base health than the rex, he deals about 10 less damage as a lvl1 rex but he can ignore armor, so even if the opponent has 200 armor while the theri has 200armor , its gonna be an easy win for the theri.
But still the fact that the rex deals more damage makes it the best boss fighter because you will need less melee damage mutations

Sarcos are one of my favorite mounts. They were my first good tame beyond the basics of Parasaur and Carbonemys.
I'll always have a soft spot for em.
Plus they're easily one of the fastest swimmers in the game. The only downfall is not being able to swim directly up or down.
@@dillongage7628 IMO it’s the best water mount as it’s super fast and you can shoot off the back, i use Sarcos to tame mosas, also I have a little mutation stack, a fully leveled one Can have 16k hp and 1700% melee, dealing almost 1k damage
Same man. The Sarcos are the secret heroes of this game that no one talks about. They are probably the only beginner tames that are remains useful later on.

A lot of people acually don't know about this:
The drake can B-hop when pressing space in the right moment.
If you have a macro, you can hit it consistantly and be like REALLY fast.
There will surely be troodons and microraptors on the list...
I started playing again recently and posted up in the redwoods of valguero...needless to say, the past week has reminded me why I stopped playing

This is just my top 10 favourite dinos, Thylas are by far my favourites
The rock drake is truly excellent, I am glad to see it on this list.
I've been trying to decide what map to play on, and the Deinonychus really makes me want to do Valguero at least at first, I can always teleport to another map on singleplayer at any time I wish really but. I bred them before, absolutely loved them, never did mutation breeding as I wanted to stack base stats. My goal was to get one to as close to a lvl 180 Tek Perfect Tame level wise as possible which means goal was to get one bred to like lvl 260+ just from base stat stacking. Preferably Carry Weight, HP, Melee and Stamina were the ones I kept my eye open the most for. Sadly getting a VERY HIGH base stat roll on a dino is super rare which is sad face. I really wish they were knockout tames personally. It's cool they get a unique method, but they could of at least had higher base levels to make up for it. A lot of work to make a epic Deinonychus.
@Cannon Ball Honestly, Crystal Isles looses out in my book for the same reason I dislike the Center. Too Island based, not enough landmasses joined together that you can get around without a flier. It's why The Island, Ragnarok and Valguro are the best maps in my opinion to play on regardless of dino spawns. The Island is easily the best map in the game just from content quantity, number of caves, number of bosses, and almost everywhere on the map can be reached on foot or on the back of a walking dino.

@@turalquliyev843 Hate Fjourdur honestly. Mostly because of all the pre-made cities/castles, terrain that doesn't feel natural, and I really hate the drop redesigns... Doesn't feel like an ARK map.
@@Alte.Kameraden i just started to ark 1 month ago after the island i just picked one random map ( it is fjordur ) in my opinion this map is amazing especially because of pre build villages , castles and more . Finding pre build building and imagining some comunity lived there gives diffirent felling because of that i love this map , also it is able to build and make your own base in this villages and castles which is impossible to build this type of building with crafted structures. Especially it is impressive to teleport diffirent realms and tame uniqe creatures in there. Btw i am not pvp player , all i said is about pve.
My personal favorite is the ankylo just because it's such a workhorse. Easy to tame early on, can harvest about anything, good carry, great fighter, and never loses its usefulness.
Late but, it is still kinda sad not seeing the T Rex on here, since it is used a lot for bosses and personally tied for my all around favorite with the Giga and the Griffen.

As a PvE I believed the Bloodstalker deserved a spot. It’s one of the most versatile tames.

I personally loved the Spino. That TLC water buff made him feel just awesome in my opinion, and he was one of the first big Dinos I tamed. RIP Jurassic Park 3 ;-;

Basically, Wildcard looked at the Spino and reworked it to have a buff in the water and be able to stand on its hind legs.
They did the same with other dinos, people called them the TLC updates.
I use blood wyverns for egg farming. Fast for escaping as well as dealing a ton of damage which can heal you for another round.

In pvp Manas literally made the wyvs useless except for meat runs. They’re my favorite tame but they don’t really have a place anymore. Maybe poison

I've no idea what you're talking about 😂 some douche on a mana attacked me while I was grounded and typing (on blood wyv) and the moment I unthawed I bit and breathed him, he did maybe 10-15% of my hp and I must have done much more because that mana vanished. A good wyv shouldn't have any issue dealing with them

Why was the wyvern not on here it’s probably the most used creature in ark
The Equus is so underrated. We've used them to knock out every creature in the game to tame and yes even a level 130 giga and a Quetzal. That shit was funny

I just started playing ARK again after a long hiatus, not playing since shortly after Ragnarok was released. I'm a completionist so I wont move on to the next story map until I finish the bosses/lore on the previous. Finishing up The Island now and so excited to check out Abberation and the others! So many new creatures I've never had a chance to play around with
I think Shadowmane will be better than Rock Drake.

Ye rockdrakes kinda suck now cuz they dont have any abilitis that make them good. Once tzey glide thry are heared around half the map and when he goes invisibil you can still easilly see them

When I play the island I always use baryonyx because of their speed and because with three or four high level baryonyx I can kill most animals I come across including alphas
It's also a practical water mount too

another one could have been the moschops, sure they are weak and wimpy but are one of the best at gathering and you can even customize what it can gather better
i can agree almost agree with the top ten:
10. Giga-only because of stats
9. Megalosaurus-most Meele damage, can Grab, but regulary Not that good at all
8. Argentavis- has His own Smithy and is perfect For Metal tours, but dies fast to other creatures
7. Every wyvern-especially lightning and fire wyvern are extremely Strong, can Grab, but theyre offen horrible to Ride because they are so slow
6. Thylacoleo-can climb, good stats, but it isnt String when you live in hard biomes Like Tundra or snow biome
5. Yutyrannus-can buff Others by roaring, perfect For bossfights, the only Point is that its hard to tame because you Need to kill the carnos at first
3. Managarmr-good riding dino, when its breeded or skills it can Beat Up with almost Every creature in ARK
2. Rock Drake-super fast, the best riding creature and has the ability to be invisible, No minus in that creature
1. Reaper King-has plenty of attacks Like spitting Shooting Spikes and so on, it has been 1. In my list since it came out because of the amazing damage and the Generally amazing Stats, clearly its very hard to get but If its tamed its unstopabble

Drake is just my preferred travel mount.i got good with them and they pack alot of utility for transit.maewing has a slightly better control on gliding,but can't climb or rocket to ledges so drake's can still get to more places faster than the maewing.not throwing shade on maewings,in a hatchery they reign king but think they tryed to make the maewing way to multiuse.if I got a dino dedicated for breeding why am I going to also use it to gather and travel? Cryo a theri,and grab that drake and you can gather more than the maewing lol.
I think the pelagornis is one of the best basic flyers in ARK
When I was still playing Ark, I typically skipped the pteranadon and waited a couple levels for the Pelagornis instead. Being able to land in water without being ejected to recover stamina is a really underrated ability.

Rock drake can be found in the rad zone in valguero there are eggs aswell
Disappointed that Rex wasn’t even a mention, but glad my Rock Drake made it. Spent days farming and grinding before finally getting a gliding suit, exposure suit, and gear ready. But made the descent into the rock drakes nest from my home in the green zone. Was a hell of a time, but came back with a few rock drakes eggs, and lived life in luxury for the remaining time I spent in aberration. Love those beautiful bastards
Rockdrake is my most favorite Dino in ark and I was pleasantly surprised to see it at number 1

Elemental Stego, and have 3 different attack ability's, only downside is its lack of speed, but certainly the best low level companion

Rock drakes are Personally my favorite,The way you tame them is hard and Unique,Because with the Wyverns you just need fast flyers,Plus They have cool Abilties,They are so Unique and Cool!One of a kind.
I wouldn't call it unique because you can just use a strong or fast mount, but it's my favorite aswell. It hurt me that Wyverns got the breed but not rock drakes
there’s actually a really easy way to tame them but you need a blood stalker. blood stalkers are very easy to tame btw u just need genesis. once u get a blood stalker go to the top of the trench and hook on with the tentacles and just go down once u get the egg u can just escalate back up just like a grappling hook. and the tentacles reach a long way. you can literally hook on to the ceiling of aberration and still be able to go down to the trench

I’m surprised the rhino wasn’t here
You would think that people wouldn’t pick megalosaurus but instead a basilisk or wyvern, poison wyverns are the best hands down, well that is for PVP because there spit does about 10 damage per second you are standing in the cloud of smoke unless you have a gas mask then their spit is useless, but I also use reapers over gigas, because gigas can kill you anytime in pvp. Also reapers can slow gigas and spin them off the cliff if there is one near by giving you time to escape, so overall my favorite creatures are from abberation because all abberation creatures are underused. Rock drake is good for stealth, reaper is GREAT for close and far combat. Karkinos is good for soaking and you can knock them with about 1 cannon ball. Basilisks have good weight and their spit balls are amazing for pvp. Light pets are good begginer ways to know enemies are nearby. But the seekers are useless, but Phoenix is also very good because it will light opponents on fire that are nearby If using its special attack

Any update on the ps5 update? Think they might bundle it in with gen 2 or think it will be months after? Already 2 months behind schedule and it seemed to be pretty straightforward and quick with xbox.

Surprised Rex didn't make the list, it's the most used dino for boss fights I think
The only functionality of rexes is for boss fights and tek saddles. Excluding tek, I would say they are a terrible tame because they are only marginally better than the yuty and spino at being a combat tame
yuty have pretty similar stats, but consume more stamina per bite, and run slightly faster, but obviously make up for this by having their roars
spinos have either the same, if not higher dps (lower damage per hit, but attack faster, adding up to about the same value) WITHOUT the hydration buff, but are worse at boss fights because they aren't as tanky (they obviously make up for this downside with hydration buff)
Not to mention that the whole appeal of the rex is it being a massive ball of stats, which is quite boring in and of itself
The fact that the ankysaurus and the T-Rex were not there isn't atrocity the T-Rex is literally the face of the game and I don't think I've ever heard of someone who hasn't had 100 T-Rexes in their pen
