The reaper I think is the the strongest tank in the game with a massive manage reduction the ability to down flyers and a aoe attack and power regular attack
I’m early game on The Island right now, and got lucky with an early Paracer tame. I don’t go anywhere without her now cause she helps me avoid *so many* of the hostile creatures just due to her size, and with her being almost level 200 now, she can easily take on even many of the mid level spinos I happen to stumble into.
We used to buy a base with turrets and walls on all sides of the megachelons shell and name it battleship, some of my favorite moments with the tame, it’s why I’ll always cherish it. Especially after the hours of failed taming attempts….

The Reaper is by far the best as the rider is immune to almost anything while on the back. It not only has the highest damage reduction but also extremely fast regen with just basic meat, yes light pets f them up but if you set up a fob with a few turrets light pets cant get close while you soak, and the massive spin tail knockback means your position is impossible to rush down with giga or other dino. Very few pvp bases have charge lanterns on stand by to project light, that is really the only way to do anything about a soaking reaper. Even flashbangs / Z fruit do not knock off the rider.
Would you mind making an updated video for this because there are nets now and you can for example, net a stego and it just lies on the ground, dismounting the rider, maybe new soakers have an advantage now? Long story short, what's the new "soaking" meta after genesis part 2 (except abusing noglins)
I still think the kentosaurus deserves a mention. It's smaller so can be brought into some caves and benefits from pack boosts similarly to raptors plus has the stego special ability AND reflects damage back at the attacker.
@@lcu_dark3317 by stego special I was referring to the bleed effect they can cause. And not every dino requires a saddle to be useful. I've had one of mine solo a roughly equally leveled alpha raptor.
Not that it is important but to further go into the mate bonus the first mate gives a 33% resistance, making it (unsaddled) take only 67% damage, but if there are 2 mates of the opposite sex, then you get a further 33% reduction on that 67% damage to bring it to 44.89%damage. Add a third mate and that goes down to 30.0763% damage. A fourth is 20.1511% damage. And finally the fifth and final mate boost lowers damage to 13.5012% of what would be normally done. That is a damage reduction of 86.5%. This can make big differences if you know how to manage the attacks right and why in open areas stuff to slow down rushes are still important. Mind you it has bee a long time since I was in a tribe setting up raid defences for large force attacks on a combative PVP server. This is a good reason that if you see a pack of saddled dinos of the same breed that is in numbers of 10 or higher that looks well organized it is a good idea to steer clear unless you have mate boosted dinos or massively more powerful attack squad yourself. Its also why I used to use a big pack of combat phiomias to guard my lower level brontos before the phiomia were nerfed to make people use parasaurs early game when the game was in late early access.
My List, 1. Tek Stego- EAsy to Breed, and disposal, High HP and can be ridden, 2. Turtle - Throw away soakers, easy to get, and mass production. small to fit in small spots. soaks very well still but can't really be ridden into battle 3. Pararacer - a tricky tame that is situational,. but can win you a raid in under 5 mins if used right, Shield walls, and to avoid death walls. but very large, and not really practical for all raids. 4. Rock golem - Dog shit. cant breed, too big, too slow, not practical, easy to get wrecked. but ok against soaking heavy in an open field. duh, who builds in open fields anyways. 5. nothing else really matters. really, the way to go is still to bring 100 Tek Steg and Turtles, with a few Pararacer in the pocket with mats to build a shield wall. and that's all you need. I mean most turreted bases I face have millions of ammo, with 200 turrets at the least. So reaper, and Rockies you would need like 30 to 50 of them. and I ant taming that many.
