Personally I would recommend taming a scorpion, they are super easy to tame since they are super slow snd have good health to torpor ratio. I tamed a 168 scorpion with a slingshot and that scorpion allowed me to knock out 174 ravagers with a simple wood trap and no tranqs. Scorpions are super underrated imo...

@Lusira I dont like putting my taming speed that high because it kinda feels like cheating to me. Play however you want to though :)
@@disfurosa9982 the way I see it the setting are there to accommodate for any experience you wish my taming is on 5x with single player settings on

Wonderful guide! Some additional tips for resource gathering:
-The surface entrances are great places for early metal runs before you have a tame that can survive the bluezone, no arthros or megalos to worry about and the NE cave doesnt even have nameless.
-There is a TON of element in the red zone in the cave with the huge skeleton, and as long as you have your light pet on there are literally no enemies so you can mine to your hearts content. You still have to get past rock drakes on your way in and out but I think its a better place for element ore than the surface

Skip drakes and go get a blood stalker and you can do everything you can do with a drake day 1 besides getting reapers if you want eggs use mushroom brew it very op then make cactus broth for rock well and good pump make sure to carry bolas and parachute incase some one jumps you
STEP 1: Get cementing paste from other maps
Keratin from surface entrances, or better yet chitin from crabs with chainsaw = big profit

@@matoman69 you get Experience crafting the paste after you poop on your toilet for the infinite supply of fertilizer while your character is constipated ;) the fert Is for you Z plant crops and veggies and refertilzer if you are like me and lazy inside your shadow cave lol
@@matoman69 Then just get some snails, they give tons and tons of achita paste (basically cementing paste)

I feel like this is either common knowledge or just unknown cuz no one talks about it but in the Blue zone all of the boulders with the small blue lights in them are all metal rocks
Nice summary. Just forgot one thing: The red zone has poisonous shrooms as well, element spores. But since you'll have a hazard suit on 99% of the time there anyways, unless you use lampreys a lot, it can be hard to notice. They are "countered" with ascerbic shrooms though, which sucks because they increase your torpor.
Good note! I opted to leave it out of this video because I assumed no one went there without the proper protection.
If you start tripping on mushrooms STOP IMMEDIATELY and start harvesting the mushrooms. The antidote is always next to the poison 👍

@@thefisherman0074 Sadly, the Abberant variant of the Stego isn't immune to radiation. They are REALLY good at harvesting wood and berries, they have a decently high weight and health stat, they are immune to the Abberant raptor pounce, and they take reduced damage from all attacks. All of these things make them pretty decent exploration mounts, besides the fact that they move a little bit slow.
Abberation is basically a massive LSD Map
This map is actually really cool looking when you get over everything dangerous

Honestly man I've watched quite a few of your videos and your videos are by far the most helpful out of any other videos I've seen. Not only do you explain everything you need to know to survive and do well, but you do so in a concise and entertaining manner that other channels don't do which is really appreciated. I would say you've gained a subscriber but I already was one so

Edit: Another thing I forgot to say, I recommend turning on advanced inventory or whatever it is called. It gives you exact hunger values and a ton of other helpful stuff.

I just got back to ark from a long break from the game and now I don’t understand any of the new maps. Love the video but I wish I could find one on extinction
This was very helpful I was struggling and I I lost some progress and got put back a ridiculous amount of times but now your vid has really helped out a ton thank you and I must say your survival handbook is so useful for noobs like me
Me and buddies are playing through all the maps right now on a boosted server. We completed the island and scorched earth recently and we are struggling with aberration. Not so much the resources but the blue zone is very unforgiving. Not to mention the map itself is hard to navigate through & easy to get lost in. We are really enjoying the challenge tho. For this map, we have decided to transfer only our characters over without dinos and materials/armor.
Ill say this right now, Amazing work here! Flat out your best video yet! Quick and easy to understand while giving the biggest points for the map. The only two thing I have is I think you severally underplayed how dangerous the surface is when day hits. Regardless of your tame and gear, you and your dino will die in seconds so don't go up until 18:00 and get out by 4:30 and when it turns the next day at 0:00 ALWAYS check to be sure it didn't switch day cycles. And also the fact you didn't mention seekers at all. While nowhere near as annoying as nameless are it's important to know that seekers get a damage bonus, damage reduction, and health regen while in charge light so while in red zone, the surface, and caves manage your charge light accordingly!
Use Stegos on the Red Mushrooms or the Scythe , to make Mushrooms Brews with Gas Balls en masse so your tames can survive the radiation areas =D

I’m starting to play ark mods like pf and eternal fear but you still one of my best ark yt channels
This is my first crafting game and it’s been kicking my ass for weeks. I tried playing without guides because of my ego, but the game is just too layered, and all I was doing was crafting narcos. Thank you to the pioneers for building guides and roadmaps!
Actually for a long time (more than an year) I also played, explored, and learned the game without wanting to watch any guides. Guides are very useful and we should used them when we reach a point where we can't figure out how to advance more in the game. But until then, the best, most intense and most immersive game experience, is really to discover on your own. Besides Being a great, and intense experience, it will also keep you enterteined for a long time.
I see many players just doing things copying the ways they see in videos, and they don't learn a lot of fantastic stuff about the game, and other fun ways to advance and do things (and many times they will get bored of the game after reachign a certain point). The best way to advance, is the one that fits you and the point you are in every moment,. The ways and methods other players use, will work, but it will probably not be the best fun experience for the point of evolution in game where you are. Eeventually, when you reach a certain more advanced point, those methods will be the best for you also because they are usually more effective, and time saving, but until then, just discover, test your solutions, live your experience, enjoy the game a lot more, and keep the fun a lot longer :D

Don’t forget you can tweak your settings to suit you! dont feel bad about having higher taming speeds if thats what you want to do, people shouldnt judge you for it!
Having 1x taming speed isn’t fun at all, it takes hours to tame something decent and most people don’t have that kind of spare time

Love your videos dude! Dung beetles are a great way to get oil on this map as well! The oil rocks are in red dangerville or the surface so the beetles make it a lot safer to gather oil I have found so far. If anyone has another spot for oil I am all ears!
It’s worth noting that to craft hazard gear you will need congealed has balls, and to get congealed gas balls you will need to place a gas collector on a gas vein.Although, the problem comes with crafting the gas collector, as it requires red gems, which can only be harvested in bulk in the red zone.So, the only way to get red gems (without the use of mushroom brews) before you get a hazard suit is from roll rats.When they burrow underground, they will emerge after a few seconds with a random assortment of gems, either blue, green, or red gems which is what we are looking for.They may even come up with a combination of green and blue, or red and green, etc.It is a rather slow process to get red gems pre-hazard suit, but once you get a few red gems, you will be able to craft the gas collector and get gas balls, and then craft the hazard clothes, and then go down into the red zone to get an ass-load of red gems.
Well since you posted months ago I'm guessing you already use gen 2 for the gems

This is my new favourite channel
Well I fell over a water fall and I just built a base near some gas veins. After about a frustrating week I decided to dedicate my time to figuring out how to get out of that area. It was so simple, from the waterfall that I fell over I just followed the wall on my right until I walked right back up into the regular more safe area. Now mind you down there before you go into the radioactive area metal is abundant, I mean far beyond what she will ever imagine. Once you figure out how to get to an Obelisk and transfer stuff out of there it’s going to be amazing. The only sad part is I never crafted a radioactive suit or a flyer or a glider to go down into the radioactive zone, well shall I say I didn’t prepare myself to go down into the radioactive zone

Are,you ever going to do a genesis guide? I just bought it today and I am confused and did a lot and I mean a lot.
I got stuck in the blue zone and died to the freezing mushrooms, and then died trying to get it back, and then almost died while trying to get back up because me and my ravager got stun locked by a baryonix and then attacked by 2 karkinos and a high level sarco, and for some reason I kept getting flung around in the water, but did eventually get away because the sarco started fighting the crabs, I also ran out of zip lines trying to get back up the very steep path I took down, but at least I have a bunch of metal that I can’t take back to my base because I’m stuck on a cliff with no resources

Great tip I been playing aberration and steel I'm scared of the nameless. I was in the blue zone getting some obiurs and then they came out of the ground and im just scared to go in the blue zone by my self but when my friend joins I'm not scared 2 people is better then 1.

@@noahpurcell6038 oh ok. Dont be scared of the nameless. Just tame a Bulbdog and keep it on your shoulder with its light on, and nameless cant spawn

Also, probly the best tame you coul get is a Karkinos, they are very strong and can easily kill Nameless, Rock Drakes, and pretty much everything else. And they can jump high so they pretty good at mobility, unless you already have one?

Aberration is my favorite map
It's one of the best for sure
I don't think aberration so bad,all you need to do is tame a turtle and make arrows and you can kill almost everything early game (excluding basilisks), turtles are very tanky,they can get 20k health pretty easily

You should tame a light pet before you enter the blue zone, such as a glow tail.
You should also have a strong creature, such as a spinosaurus, to help deal with the nameless.

My freind and I have been in the green zone for about a month, we need gas balls for a hazard suit but literally all the gas veins in the green zone are taken.

Can I go to the surface with a group of 10 Ravagers mutated? With like 400%+ damage and 5k health as kids? If yes, how should level up them? damage and healh or something or stamina too?
Yes, but they'll probably die. You need a way to get off the ground, rock drakes are the way to go. Reapers will almost certainly overwhelm you but id go for speed and health if you're gonna do it
