    I had wanted to try intermittent fasting for a long time but didn't because I heard I'd have to drink my coffee black. But 6 weeks ago I started, and have been allowing myself 1 Tablespoon of half and half. I'm happy to say that I've lost 20 pounds in just 6 weeks and feel great! For me, the half and half in my coffee did not cause me to not lose weight.

      @@QandolukI drink 2 cups of coffee in the morning, lunch at noon (salad with tuna and cheese) nice sized dinner at 5:00, ending with some cheese to hold my appetite, and in the evening, just decaf coffee and some decaf tea with lemon. Works for me!

      @@suzannecarrier287 No I do NOT count calories, but I am naturally eating less because of the appetite control that intermittent fasting provides. I am now down 28 pounds in less than 3 months and feel great! I found Dr. Eric Berg's TH-cam videos to be VERY helpful, especially his intermittent fasting videos for beginners!

      1 1/2 tablespoons of real cream (not half/half since that has carbs AND sugar) is exactly what I do and it’s awesome! Way to go! 🙌🏻I’ve lost 10.7 pounds in 8 1/2 weeks and have 18.6 more pounds to go! 👍🏻

    I like to add a cinnamon stick to my coffee and let it sit for a few minutes. No powdery residue, but lots of flavor. Then, I rinse it off and use it over again.

      I like to put the cinnamon right in with the coffee grinds so it brews with it. It makes the house smells so good too!

      I do this with the cinnamon stick as well but I stir it into my green tea. What a a great splash of flavor

    Matcha Green Tea is also another natural source of L-theanine(& other great antioxidants)! I drink it instead of coffee bc anxiety. With nutpods and a couple drops of stevia! Yum!💚

      Same here, I haven't drank coffee for 2 weeks now because of anxiety. I ordered matcha with almond milk but it did have a little guava juice to sweetened it. I also been drinking a coffee alternative called Roma plain black.

    The explanation I heard for the whole salt making coffee taste sweeter is that your tongue picks up on saltiness more strongly than bitterness. The big reason for adding sugar to coffee is to make it less bitter as opposed to more sweet.

      Exactly. When I make a pot of coffee I sprinkle salt on the grounds. . . . takes away the bitterness. Sometimes I add the cinnamon for flavor.

    Try adding black pepper esp if you already adding cinnamon. Gives it a little more umph and has a number of health benefits.

    I always add in my coffee cup cinnamon, couple drops of vanilla and unsweetwned almond milk. You might be careful with any artificial sweetners, no matter how safe or natural, they can still spike insulin

    I hired a nutritionist a year ago after trying EVERYTHING to lose diet-resistant fat. She cost me a fortune but I never lost any weight.     Tips Autumn! You have saved my morning coffee situation. I was not getting very much pleasure from black coffee now I sprinkle a bit of salt, cinnamon, and heavy whipping cream. It’s delightful. Also, I have been using your vanilla and chocolate protein powder. I love it I really like how easy it is to blend into things like Greek yogurt. The vanilla is probably my favorite. Thank you if anyone’s reading this and uses protein powder, I would highly recommend Autumns. I’ve been using protein powder for 20 years, so I have tried a lot of different types and I would put hers at the top of my list.

    Thanks! I'm excited because I just got heavy whipping cream Friday and since then its really kickstarted my Ketosis into high gear and my weight is no longer stagnant, even with the IF 16:8 I'd been doing for a few days in a row (I am charting it with an app I used to use a few years ago when I did Keto and IF in 2020 with success). I think I wasn't getting enough of the fats even though I was trying. Glad to know I can have coffee with heavy cream for my fast because that means I can have a cup now and not worry about it and still burn fat! I fixed a cup now with heavy whipping cream, vanilla, a dash of cinnamon, and a stevia erythritol packet. Thanks so much!

    I add powdered clove to my ground coffee that I brew in a french press. In my cup of morning coffee I add a dash of sea salt, ceylon cinnamon, a slight sprinkle of cayenne pepper and MCT oil.

    I've been swapping sugar with stevia for a lot of things. I recommend the SweetLeaf Vanilla Stevia liquid. It still has some after taste but honestly, after using it for the past 5 months I've gotten used to it and I don't notice it much anymore. I have a huge sweet tooth and the sweet taste even after using the stevia helps trick my brain into thinking I've had something sugary. I recommend it for people trying to swap sugar cravings.

      Hi I saw where a lady suggested to put butter and heavy cream in her coffee and I finally added after learning the nutrition we get from butter and I’m now addicted. Wish I would’ve tasted this years ago. Check out the nutrition butter has. I’m lookin for a local cow farmer to get some real milk and make my butter to get more nutrition

    This information is a GAME CHANGER for me! I start my fast earlier in the morning because I can’t go without a little bit of cream and sugar in my coffee but now knowing that I can use Stevia or Monk fruit plus a tiny bit of half-and-half, I just might start my fast later! I work nights at a restaurant so fasting from 6 PM on is very difficult for me with all the food I’m surrounded by. Thank you SO MUCH Autumn, you’ve gained a new sub!

      I apologize in advance for my grammar, I talk text and Siri does what she wants to do. Lol You cannot use heavy, whipping cream, and especially half-and-half, and think that your body is in a fast. To be in a fasted state, your body cannot have any calories of any kind if you consume dietary fats like those found in heavy, whipping cream and half-and-half, the body is going to use those dietary fats before the body uses your stored fat for energy. Now I don’t know about you, but I fast in order to burn stored fat for energy if I was not intending to burn stored fat for energy then I would just greatly reduce my calorie intake and drop the pounds national which is what everybody is doing when they add half and half And or heavy, whipping cream to their coffee. They are simply consuming less calories than what they used to with all the sweet, sugary fattening, flavored coffee, creamers if you want to know if you can consume anything with your coffee during a fasting state, I suggest you get yourself a blood glucose monitor and test your blood prior to consuming coffee with additives in it and then again 30 minutes 60 minutes and 120 minutes after you drink the coffee. You will find a rise in your blood glucose levels, I guarantee it therefore, you’re fast, ended

    I tried black coffee while I was fasting. I couldn’t do it, I used unsweetened almond milk. For a long time even at Walmart at Starbucks.

    I don’t understand when people say artificial sweeteners cause sugar cravings. That is not the case with me at all. I’ll usually have 2 or 3 cups of tea and I always put a pack of stevia or Monk Fruit in it, depending on what I have. Also, I make my own dessert with plain yogurt, chia seeds, and a pack of stevia or monk fruit. Anyway, I have zero cravings for real sugar or sweet foods, even though I use a few packs a day.

    I’ve been low carb almost six months and fasting for two. Lost 45 pounds so far. I’m a little confused about the nutpods though. Here you don’t mention a limit, but I read an article where you mentioned to stick to 1 TBS. I would want a little more than that, so I’ve abstained from it while fasting. If you could clarify, I’d appreciate it!

    What about: butter, unsweetened cocoa powder, MCT oil?
    That's how I make my bulletproofs. The cocoa has around 1g net carb.

    I have been using the monk fruit/eyrithritol of the lankanto or whole earth brands which i like much better than stevia.
    They have some good health benefits and the taste is great without the side effects of sugar

I’m a 16:8 faster and I swear by it now , lost 20 lbs doing it and the coffee part was most important since I wake up very early and need my coffee .     I am from India and I cannot go without having my tea with milk (no sugar) in the morning. I have 1 cup in the morning, and I go without eating anything till my feasting time. It doesnt give me a morning headache, eases my day too. I am doing OMAD… been 4 days and already 2 kgs down. So excited to lose another 10-15kgs… 🤗

    it’s funny cause i like my coffee sweet with creamer. when i started IF, i forced myself to drink plain black coffee. and i find that it’s not that bad if it’s good coffee. and now anything other than plain black is a bit too sweet for me

    Just heard that if you take turmeric before your coffee it triggers autophagy and the heavy cream won't kick you out of autophagy. Seems too good to be true 😆

    Do you have any videos where you discuss Torani or Matteo’s sugar-free syrups for coffee or sugar free syrups in general ! I use some with my coffee cause I just love vanilla coffee and like the nutrition facts on the bottles seem OK but I’m not a nutritionist !!

    If you consume food, you are not fasting. Cream is food. It is fat, it has energy. You can do whatever you want, but it's not fasting. If you like it, do it. But it's between fasting. It raises insulin. Not a deal breaker for your goals, but you can't redefine the word. I tried cream, but would get hungry later. Once I ditched the cream, my fast got easy with little to no hunger for the whole day. Best advice: Try it with cream for a month. Second month without. See if it's any different. Then choose.

      Try the Wim Hoff breathing exercises. L-Thianine just made me feel weird but this simple deep breathing followed by holding your breath for 1-3 minutes is incredible.     I use the nut creamer no fat 10 calories/tbs..I just don’t go over 6tbs during my 18 hr fast first meal 12noon. If I feel like coco then I just add a small sprinkle with the nut creamer ..I really hate over thinking cause I derail❤

    Will plant milk or coconut cream in coffee break a fast? and how about lemon juice, how much in water is acceptable before it breaks a fast?

    The body WILL ALWAYS use dietary fats before stored fats so when fasting, if dietary fats are consumed, the fat burning purpose of a fast is halted. That’s a fact. Maybe no insulin spike but the original purpose of the fast has ended.

    I admire your contents specially when when you said if you fasting for religious purposes 😅😅because some people can’t even think it’s possible to not eat from sunrise to sunset, I mean the benefits are amazing physically and spiritually 🙏🏻🙏🏻

    Half and Half has sugar, heavy whip does not. Are you stating they are equal?

    Cinnamon is best to use near the end of your fast, like 30-60 minutes before you break it.

Do you have anything in your playlist for people that work night shifts ? How to fast on a night shift? This is new to me at the age of 56 I became a bus operator ! My hormones are wacked and feel tired! I have iBS so I don’t eat during my shift but I drink Zevia energy drink only one and sometimes I eat Lily’s chocolate ! Lost some weight but now I think I am insulin resistant and stuck ! Should I have keto coffee instead of carbonated Zevia?

    I am confused - if half and half is used ( which I understand is half skimmed milk and half cream) then how isn't the fast broken as it has fats and protein in it?

    M sure Dr berg n Kait would agree with all of these and their opinions are the only ones that matters... So will Dr ekberg 😅😅. I add butter n cream to my coffee and Iv nver evee worried abt that breaking my fast!!
