The world's busiest passenger station, with a passenger throughput of 3.5 million passengers per day (1.27 billion per year), is Shinjuku Station in Tokyo
Tokyo has great art, music, history, food and people!
We are in Tokyo now April 8 and enjoying the beautiful Cherry blossoms in full bloom. .
So excited for this series 👏🏽 Traveled to Japan for the first time last summer and have been dreaming about it ever since. The kindness & grace of the Japanese people was simply the best! Enjoy!! ✨ 👘🌸🍡🍣🍶🍜🚅⛩️🦌🇯🇵
You guys are making us want to go back to Japan! 🤗
It keeps getting better and better here :D
The high-tech toilets seen at the end of this video (they are often called "washlet") are one of the best invention in Japan. If you live in Japan for long enough to get used to them, you will never be able to spend the rest of your life without them.
I hear one Japanese baseball player rejects spring camp abroad every year just because there are no high-tech toilets there.
Yes we already love them :D
They are quite affordable; I purchased one for ¥30,000 at a store in Osaka. It's a common item in almost every Japanese household.
Thank you for coming to Japan!!🇯🇵 I'm really happy to watch this video of your trip to Japan!
The toilet water you use to wash (grey water) is then used to flush the toilet. Pretty cool. Saves on water! I love Japanese toilets specially the ones in Narita airport cos they have warm bidets. After a long flight it’s such a comfort. ❤
very clever :D
5 weeks of Japan content! So excited to watch
Cant wait for your future Japan videos. We stayed in Japan 3 full days and fell in love with it. Can't wait to go back!
You sure are right. What a culture shock, but in a good way. I was just there in Feb. What a Beautiful clean Country.
yes it is hard to show in the video how different everything feels here, we feel our video doesn't really show it properly. I think it's just something you will only realize if you are here in person. Our first culture shock in a long long time
@@JumpingPlaces😅
Lovely to see you all together again (Hi Vera!) and in such a beautiful and interesting country. Have a wonderful time, can’t wait to see your adventures here 🤗
Thank you so much!
Perfect Timing: Watching Shogun series, so looking forward to your travels and the different customs. Thank You!
That's based on our history, however, just around 400 years ago. Many things changed, and got changed. Just enjoy the series as an entertainment!
@@rabbit07236 Yes, not expecting to see 1600s in 2000s, in fact the juxtaposition. Read the book in the 80s and really enjoyed it. The series so far has exceeded my expectations, very much like the focus on the customs and culture of Japan of that era and not sole focus on the Anjin -- like that the women characters are given their due.
Thanks Chris And Carol for the Video Looking forward to the next ones in Japan
Nice guys! i was waiting for you two to go to Tokyo as its top of my bucket list and i knew you would give a honest review thankyou. looking forward to the series
So cool to see you guys in Japan!! 🇯🇵 loved this video!
Cheers! Many more coming up :D
Hi, I’m happy to hear you guys and your family are in Japan!
Welcome to my country.
I’m living in Hokkaido Hakodate.
Here Hakodate is very famous city in Japan.
Most notably the view from Mt.Hakodate and fresh seafood.
Please come ! Cherry blossom season will come around here in late April. (I recommend to eat a local BBQ under the cherry blossom at Goryokaku park )
Glad to see you all enjoying Japan! Beautiful country and people. My daughter was just there a few months ago to meet some of our relatives for the first time ever. Enjoy your stay!
Nice! Which place do your relatives live?
@@JumpingPlaces They're from Chiba, just across from Tokyo.
Going from Africa to Japan would be a culture shock for anyone Lol. Nice video enjoy time spent with your parents as my wife and I are going to travel with my daughter in Turkiye the end of the month. It's a blessing as she is lives in South Korea and we don't see her often. Thank you looking forward to more videos from Japan
Nice! We need to visit South Korea at some point
Hi from Japan😊 I’m happy you’re enjoying my home country and hometown❤ 22:00 yes it’s Japanese traditional wedding. I’m also happy to hear that Carol is considering buying kimono(or maybe yukata is more easy to wear if you get it back to your country, since it is easy to wash and requires less additional underwear and shoes)!
I lovedd Tokyo! Looking forward to seeing your next 5 weeks! Enjoy all the food you two 😋
Ooh I’ve missed you guys. I’m ready excited about this series!! Have the best time!!
Cheers! Many amazing places coming up :D
It would be interesting to get more podcasts about what you're learning by traveling to literally every continent all over the world
Hey Japan! Cath was there for a family wedding and loved the experience. So different to anywhere she/we had been. Look forward to see where you go. Cath travelled on her own and had to take a breather when at Tokyo central as more hectic than even London. Found people friendly and willing to help. Lovely you have your folks with you. Wish you all a great time 👍✌️
Yeah the amount of people is mental! It has probably been our first culture shock in a long time, everything is so different here. hard to really feel how different it seems from the video
how fun! with your parents. Very cool..Enjoy guys. Looking forward to this Japan journey
Wow very interesting! Nice to see your parents joining you - that is a lot of walking! Will get my daughter to watch this as they are going in the Fall. It is a little too crowded for me especially the subway!!
They are going to love it! Everything is so different here, never seen anything like this country before.
I've been really waiting for this, that one of these days I could meet you guys here in Japan since I'm just so near Tokyo. Glad that you had a great time here.
Our son is in Kyoto studying advanced Japanese. Wife went to visit him and man.......culture shock indeed!
yeah it's way more different than we expected even!
Hey Chris.... I've lived in Japan many years of my life. Going back to the 70s.
Shintoe, is a group, who everyone, no matter where in the world. They time a chant prayer, a small gong, and lite a insent. It brings peace on earth and one ness with Nature . They do it all at the same time no matter the time zone there in.
Nice! Has it changed a lot since the 70's?
Meiji Shrine actually has unique circumstances from other similar places. Anyway, that doesn't matter to us who pray to everything and eat everything.
Amazing video you guys are so awesome.I Already booked my flight to Tokyo!! 🗼🗼 Can't wait 😍
I like how everything is so affordable in Japan.
The Japanese and the Japanese culture is very impressive. Clean, intelligent and respectful. I’m many ways so different than the US.
higher IQs
@@giomusah2155 High suicide rate as well. IQ is not what you believe it is. It is subjective.
@@youme1414you've commented several times now, somehow you seem to have a dislike for Japan. Are you jealous? A hater?
@@porfiriato84 Nope! I actually like Japan and the Japanese. I am only exercising my right to free speech on TH-cam.
Thank you.
@@youme1414I'm not sure I believe you. Every single comment you've posted about Japan is on the negative side. And I'm not sure why you're comparing your Africa to Japan when they're complete opposites.
Happy that you've checked another place that you'd like to visit on your bucket list.
Us too!
Sunday afternoon around Harajuku station is the best time for seeing all the costumes. Head into Yoyogi park just around the corner and that is where the 50's style "Elvis" looking dudes used to hang out!! I used to walk by them on my way to hear the dj's that would play a bit further into the park. It's the best free entertainment in Tokyo!!! Happy Travels
Thanks for the info :D
Enjoy it! Can't wait to see all the upcoming videos too. I plan to go there for my 60th b'day!!
You will love it D
Love how you guys are cranking out these videos! Such an inspiration for Gaby and I. Japan is also high on our list too. Any issues with the language barrier or difficulty getting around? It seems like ordering the ramen was straightforward.
Cool to see your parents traveling with you guys as well.
Cheers! It has been a bit more complicated than many other countries that we go, sometimes nothing is in English at all but then we use google translate and that helps a lot. At restaurants it is usually ok because we can just point to what we wan't and many times the menu has the images of the food so we can already see what we are ordering. The people here have been very helpful most of the time though even if we can't talk with each other :D
You have no idea how happy I am to know that you are in JP now. Have an awesome trip guys :)
Thanks! 😃
Very good video, I enjoyed walking with you and your family. It's good to see the Japanese people carrying on with their traditional way's. Very clean. A little too crowded in some areas. thanks.
I also took my parents on my first trip to Tokyo and they loved it. So clean, so organised and so different.
Staying in residential areas is a fantastic way to experience local neighbourhoods which you will not get staying in Shibuya or Shinjuku. There are so many different residential areas that they are all very different.
Konnichiwa! Now that was a big jump! From Mozambique to Japan! Amazing place! We are expecting great few weeks from the country of the rising sun! ☀️
Finally!! Welcome!!
Wow this brings back soo many memories from when I was there last year in Oktober!! And Nooo way!! You guys ate at the exact same ramen place as I did on my first day there haha that’s so cool!!
💡👍Brilliant!! Nice to see that you brought along your parents.
Welcome to Tokyo, Japan this weekend in great joy on your first remarkable visit in April of 2024❤❤❤I wish you guys the Best always in peace 2024❤❤❤
5 weeks in Japan. Wow! ❤
Weirdly we had the best pizza ever in Nagano, Japan. Better than Chicago, NYC or even Italy!
Safe travels! I love your videos.
Thanks so much!
Another Awesome Adventure Chris & Carol Thank You🙂❤👍Watching from NB Canada🙂
Cheers!
Welcome to Japan! The water of the toilet you mentioned is for washing hands. I've been to the Ramen shop you went in Harajuku more than 30 years ago. It has been very popular for long time.
wow. . finally. .next switzerland. .enjoy you guys. .good to see your parents again chris.
Definitely need to go to Switzerland
Mom + Dad is back! YAY! 😊
Enjoy Japan👑!
The train system is kinda complex.
Cheers!
Wow 😲 Amazing city. Another great travel video. 👍😊💙🇯🇵⛩️
Cheers don!
I have been watching your videos for a very long time.
What an improvement!
You guys are awesome in showing more the contents raather than always you in the camera. Information you provide is also very relevant.....and ya, your music sense in earlier videos was very good. Also, you put the music in only when needed.
Like not needed in this video and it's not there.
Good to see you parents as well. Carol came a long way, excellent provement.
I hope you are settled now with the you tube. Stay blessed.
Thanks for all the nice feedback :D
Great temperature all year round clear, blue aqua water from ocean white pristine, sandy beaches
Hello mum and dad, nice to see you again.🫶🏻🫶🏻🇬🇧
Gday Guys! I loved Japan ❤
Chris and Caro… love your exploring.
Congratulations to you guys to heads Tokyo, Japan this weekend on your first time visit in Asia April of 2024❤❤❤I wish you guys safe journeys & good luck always in peace 2024❤❤❤
Tokyo (and all of Japan) is the most amazing place on earth! The atmosphere and food are so good. And after a few days you'll be a master of the trains and metro. Smart to have Suica on your phone, tap and go!
I recently stayed in Morishita Sumiday City for a month and got an apartment for $1200/month. Prices go up soon for Golden Week
There is a lot to see in Shinjuku so you are wise to save it for another night :D
Seriously, that is amazing in the 30 seconds, we went to all those places exactly a year ago this week, and ate the same things. In fact, I message you guys and encourage you to go there when we were there.
Surprised we took so long to come here
@@JumpingPlaces i’m glad you guys finally made it there. I really thought Tokyo station was cool. It’s amazing how big it is. Cheers.
Your parents can get a ticket from the machines, they all have an english button, , and they will not have to wait. Also, if you get the wrong ticket, there are fare adjutment machines at every station so you can pay the difference and will not be in any trouble. Have fun.
We used the machines all the time after this.
Great Video!!! ❤
The hand washing tab is triggered when you flush, so that the water you used to wash your hand will go into the tank. It helps save water as the water you used for hand washing will also be used for flushing.
Great idea 😁
Was just wondering when would be your first Japan trip and Hawaii trip. If you have time, hit up the Hozugawa River Cruise close to Kyoto. Its a great experience.
Hi Chris and Carol, I hope you explore the city of Tokyo!
The cutest couple on TH-cam
Bom dia! I’m looking forward to seeing your Japan travels.
I leave for Rome on Monday for a week of solo travel. I’m sure you will have posted several videos by the time I return to the US. Obrigado.
Fantastic four are back again..
This really is the best video of Japan I’ve ever seen!
Cheers!
I am excited for your Japan vlogs with your parents. For sure you will enjoy it.
It's a beautiful country, looking forward to visiting, enjoy 😍
will be in tokyo next month. thank you so much for this video
Awesome, this place is something else! More videos coming soon
@@JumpingPlaces looking forward to more videos!
Welcome to Japan, my country🎉
I hope you to enjoy Japanese authentic traditional foods such as Original Sushi, ramen, tonkatsu, Kaiseki which is Japanse traditional fancy dinner course ,Sukiyaki and more😂
If you have chance, Get into Japanese Izakaya with some courage and in Izakaya, Japanese people must be friendly and You'll be able to make Japanese friends soon🇯🇵
Greetings out of Africa! Highly interesting - thanks for sharing new insights in the Japanese culture - love your videos!
Cheers, more to come :D
Welcome to Japan! My wife and I have been traveling all of Japan for 2 months! Enjoy the Japanese toilets and Ichiran ramen! Also we found the basements in the fancy stores all have amazing food courts!
It is too good here!
If you use google maps, I can share with you all the places we have been the past 2 months all over Japan. Might help with your research. We are in Tokyo until Tuesday then off to Kanazawa area for a week or so.
Culture Shock? That's how I always feel when I visit my family back in Texas 😂 Great video. Hello from Saga Prefecture, Japan 🗾🇯🇵 been here since April '96
From africa to japan.. wow what a sudden change in culture, scenery and weather.
I love my Africa. What we need in Africa are wealth creation, sound infrastructure and clean environment. I still prefer Africa to this place when it comes to nature.
From poverty and backwardness to efficient and expensive place.
@@Siopaoko Not everything about poverty and backwardness is all about Africa. Japan has its own problems too. Some are even worst than what you will get in Africa sometimes, like Tsunami, earthquakes, small living rooms, nuclear contamination, etc. I would rather live in Africa where there is little to none of those than the affluence of Japan.
I wasn't saying one is worse or better... i was just pointing out the sudden change from one country to another where the whole vibe and scenery changes completely. Both equally beautiful but very different at the same time.
I lived there for a year-so cool. Try Sarugackyo monkey park in Gunma to the north.
Yooo!!! I Loved Your videos in Egypt and now you guys are in Tokyo for your first time and so am I!!! I’m staying in Shinjuku
Nice! the video is a week or 2 behind, we are actually in Okinawa right now. Had a big scare with the possible tsunami! We have a video showing the kabukicho nightlife coming soon, what a place at night!
did you go to golden gai and omoide yokocho at night?
@@JumpingPlaces Not yet just got here yesterday. Have Fun you guys!! 👍🏽
Nice to see your mom and dad.......quality family time..👍😁🙋♀️🙋🏼♂️🇨🇦
Thanks 👍
Another good one, you kids make great videos.
I have a good feeling…you will be in my neighborhood soon! We enjoy jumping places with you💕
Which neighborhood is that? :D
Wow.. a breath of fresh air from you 2 .. 👌
Shibuya is a magical mixture of everything, people like ants, and music pouring out from all possible corners.😊The yellow acacias were lovely. It is a shame the sun was not shining.Enjoy your stay in the capital of Japan with your parents.👍
Reminds me of NYC how busy and so much going on at the same time.
Congratulations to you guys to heads Tokyo, Japan this weekend in great joy & peace after weeks in East Africa 2024❤❤❤Welcome to Tokyo, Japan in peace 2024❤❤❤
When your inside the cherry trees in Washington DC it is absolutely amazing it’s like in a movie
Good luck in Japan. Have fun there guys. If someone starts dragging you into some store there in Tokyo, reject them. 👍
I luv ramen. I'm lucky I live in Los Angeles which has a lot of ramen chains from Japan, along with a sizeable Japanese American community. Hopefully you and Carol see more cherry blossoms on this trip. I'm planning to visit Japan next summer 2025 when ts hot and humid, so I'm taking notes of where and what you and Carol are visiting and experiencing there.
Welcome to Tokyo. I hope you enjoy it here.
We sure are loving it :D
Looks fascinating 😊

they don't think about it much. Rather, they love outdoor activities in nature, are interested in vast nature and unknown territory, are adventurous, like to seek new experiences, respect individual freedom and rights, Seeking realization, always passionate about self-expression and who you are.
Japanese people tend to be quiet and introspective. Influenced by traditional cultures and philosophies such as Zen, tea ceremony, and Bushido, they prefer modest and quiet behavior, value politeness and humility, and value harmony with others.
Japanese people like beautiful and delicate things and value attention to detail.😅
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it
Hi guys, just to show how much I enjoy your channel... I'm planning to watch all your Japan videos, even though I have zero interest in the place, nor any intention of ever visiting ( unless I win the lottery 😉). Have fun! Its great to see your parents again in your videos btw👍
Cheers! Some interesting places. Coming up 😊
Japan still on my bucket list and I'm from the Philippines 😊. Looking forward to your Japan videos.....Stay safe always!
Definitely visit!
Welcome to Japan! I have been watching your videos for 2 years. I was always hoping that you visit in Japan.please enjoy cherry blossom season !!
Take care.
Many videos coming from here :D
It's cherry blossom season in Japan.enjoy Japan !
Vous êtes les champions du monde du voyage !
I ❤ everything about 🇯🇵. The world could learn a lot from the Japanese. I hope Osaka is on your itinerary.
Yes, but I don't like the matches-box room. I am claustrophobic.
@@youme1414 Extremely unfortunately, Japan's population is decreasing, and there is a more than adequate supply of real estate outside of a few central areas of large cities,
and the area occupied by each household is increasing compared to the past. There are many examples where it is already wider than urban areas in Europe and US.
Of course, don't compare it to suburbs in Australia or the US.
welcome to japan!!
日本を楽しんでください😊
日本人ともたくさん交流してくださいね!
Thanks!
