    Thank you Rabbi Friedman for your teachings. This subject is such a beautiful commandment, and that is because it was given by our Most High G-d. I love him so much, and I only wish that I knew my ancestry were, from both my parents, from the tribes of Israel. If I would have know my heritage I would sought my people and study Torah younger. I grew up a Catholic because of the Inquisition of Spain, but Hashem, blessed is He, revealed to me who I was in Him. Your teachings are so amazing, I love you all with all my heart and soul. Thank you for bringing this teachings to all of us. I needed it so much. B"H

      You realize the Tanakh is full of examples of the Oral Torah, even with God and forcing it and giving it his blessing, right? Also, why would you use the Bible to insist that non-jews have no obligations on their morals are their lives? Even godless people understand that to at least some degree. The noahide laws are basically all the moral laws of the Torah broken down into 7 main categories that you're supposed to go and study further.
      If you have a problem with it, find a video that caters to your own religion and leave Jews alone. You'd just borrow (appropriate) the Bible from the culture that actually owns it and then casually throw the words around as you please without even doing proper study first.

      Non-Jews may study Torah and have a day of rest, of course on the 7th day,
      but the Instruction to "keep the Sabbath" is for the B'nei Ysrael, not B'nei Noach.
      Break a few of the 39 forbidden tasks, don't make the challah, light the two candles, or have your husband say the blessings.
      Remember, the 7 Instructions were given to all of humanity before the Jewish people were given the 10 at
      Mt Sinai.
      We all have the 7 ( appx 70ish) to observe and when we join the Nation of Ysrael via conversion, have the 10 ( 613), as was given at Mt Sinai.
      Hope that helps.

    Is it considered wrong (or at least irrelevant) in Judaism for non-Jews to observe a mitzvah outside the Seven Noahide laws?
    I am not Jewish, yet:
    1. I work to honor my father and mother. It would disrupt the fundamental family unit, hurting my parents and bringing disrespect to them, if I did not honor the parents G-d blessed me with.
    2. I work not to lie, to be an honest person. Without a commitment to honest speech, how can a Noahide court of justice ever be maintained?
    3. I work not to covet what my neighbor has and to be content with what I have. Covetousness lowers one's focus to (and elevates one's obsession with?) created objects -- not to G-d, the wise and sovereign bestower of such objects.
    While these three laws are not found in the Noahide laws, they are found in the Ten Commandments. Should I not be observing them?

    • @mosherosenthal4321
      @mosherosenthal4321 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You aren't commanded among them but that doesn't mean they're useless. They are very important, some even for gentiles but not a commandment as they aren't in the 7 Noahide laws. Although other commandments that are more ritual based and focused on certain aspects of the religion may be useless like the laws of the sabbath. But if it helps you in your life it is benificial to do it.

      They are are for jews, the 7 noah's laws werw given to noah (the entire humanity), when the civilization has started again, because human civilization didn't keep them before the big flood in noah's days. And if you ask why would the keep them if they haven't been given is because like today - also then, every human being can easly with his/her mind can realize that these are things that are forbidden to do, but because they didn't follow their hearts and played "politically correct" with god and told him like "if you don't tell us what to do we can do whatever we want and what it's matter what we have in our heart" - so god as given them these laws and told them like "ok, you don't want to follow the pure heart I created for you? No problem, do it because I say and I don't care what you think anymore"

    • @michaelyaeger5309
      @michaelyaeger5309 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      May I address the clothing question? Reading very strictly from the text, it says Adam was created “in the image of God” and was “erum”...that is, “exposed.” Does thetorah tell us God created “the man” with skin like you and I? No, that is an assumption we have read in. Adam was in fact created “exposed” and in God’s perfect “image”; in other words, I am suggesting Adam was totally a spirit. Then, after the “sin”, the text says God “stitched together skins”. It does not use the word “animal”. So I am suggesting that humans received our human skin after the “Sin”. So Adam haRishon did not use an animal, as asked in your question.

      @@gabris123 I don't see an issue? Whether Adam was already skinned like you and I are, or whether he was "spirit" makes no difference of whether or not he could use leaves to make for himself a covering. We have long assumed he was covering his private parts. The text says nothing of this. What's to say he didn't cover his biceps! If the thought of Adam being a spirit is a little weird, I suggest an analogous thought to un-weird it would be to consider his similarity to an angelic being.

    Isn't it possible to see the commandment to uphold a vivid relation to God also represented by the commandment not to kill? That also learns us to respect life, to respect the existence itself, to respect God, to hold a living relation to God. All further commandments are teachings about this first commandment, to live in a living relationship to god, to respect existence in it self.
    The word become existence and enfold itself to all the variation of the earliest initial existence. And God saw it is good. Afterwards, of course, mankind failed to uphold the vivid relationship to God and harmed there own existence.

That seems weird to me that if I was a kind of person who steals, murders, rapes, etc and then hears some rules and decides to follow them because I was told to, that that would somehow be a better person than someone who would never have wanted to do any such evil in the first place.

      @@BertGraef lol. You're right, hardly my best sentence structure for sure. Sorry about that.
      Let's see if this is better -
      There are 39 tasks prohibited to do when Jewish people observe Sabbath.
      There is no prohibition for us Gentiles to not do the 39, as we are not obligated to observe Sabbath.
      We may write, we may dye, we may measure, we may bleach, we may pluck, we may stitch, we may mix, we may sort, we may measure, etc etc., but for the Shabbath observant Jew, those tasks are prohibited.
      Hope that takes more sense now.

    Why Noahide laws are NOT the plan of our Creator! Jewish tradition tells that six of these laws were given to the first human being, Adam. A seventh law, the prohibition against eating the limb of a living animal, was given to Noah when humankind was permitted to consume meat. But over here Gods plan is revealed. Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: 32 not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the Lord: 33 but this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. 34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the Lord: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

    Points of disputation from the Karaite Noahide Community: The Rainbow Torah (Genesis 1:1 - 11:9) should be observed NOT because of any Mt Sinai tradition, but because that is universal mankind's ancestral obligation towards God since the days of Noah, and such commands have never been annulled. Further, the incident with Shechem was based on the righteous anger from Simeon and Levi at their sister Dinah's rape, NOT because of the violation of any Noahide laws. To put it bluntly, the lads were pissed off, and took vengeance. Nothing more than that. There are other points of disputation, but that will suffice for now. Thank you.

      Any Gentile who accepts the Seven Noahide Commandments, and is careful to observe them, is truly a pious individual of the nations of the world, and merits an eternal portion in the future World to Come. (And with this merit, the person will be included in the Resurrection of the Dead). This applies only if he accepts them and does them because the Holy One, blessed be He, commanded them in the Torah, and made it known through Moses our teacher, that the Children of Noah were previously commanded to fulfill them.
