      @@DigitalPhotoMentor Hi Darlene! The couple that stand out were how to use curves to fix contrast and the use of a vignette to darken the underexposed edge of the image as well as the Luminar Neo features that can be used for restoration. Most of my restoration work was done before I took your Lightroom and Photoshop 101/201 courses so I often just used the Auto Color/Tone features in Photoshop to adjust contrast or color. I also need to find the time to work through your course on Luminar Neo!

    Question: In 9:28 you moved the Smart Contrast slider that created some bluish tint. Why did you not just moved the Smart Contrast slider back to remove the bluish tint instead of using the eyedropper?

    • @DigitalPhotoMentor
      @DigitalPhotoMentor  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ah I rewatched it and I see now. So the smart contrast slider lowered the contrast and then the whites were a bit more grey and a color tint showed up. It was always there but lowering the contrast made it more prominent and then I could use the eyedropper to correct it.

    Darlene, as others have stated, lots of great tips so thank you! However, under the context of constructive criticism, I'm wondering why your guidance on the first two photos didn't actually cover appropriate alignment (goals) in cropping? When cropping, you mentioned how to eliminate the edges but had no communication on the most important part of 'cropping' which would be to ensure, or work towards the goal of proper vertical or horizontal alignment first, THEN crop out your edging. Again, under the context of constructive input, is there a reason you left this fundamental point out or did I miss something perhaps? Alternatively, I appreciate your in depth remaining points in sharing how to use the various tools within Luminar to achieve a restored pic so again, thank you. Job well done.

    • @DigitalPhotoMentor
      @DigitalPhotoMentor  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think because my goal was to keep the integrity of the original image. I just cropped to the edge of the photo, I wasn't correcting anything in the original.

      photo lemur was made by skylum as well but they discontinued it a while ago. Yes you can do batch editing in Neo too. Just edit the first one and save it as a preset or copy the edits. Then go back to the catalog and paste the settings to other images.
      I wouldn't do all 3000 at once though, try 20 or so to test it. you can also batch edit with Lightroom and Photoshop but you'd need the monthly Adobe subscription

      @@dd61125 seriously? Your comment was 17 hours before this one. This is a social media platform. I provide free video tutorials, and I do answer comments. Not everyone on TH-cam does. But demanding I answer you immediately is frankly quite rude. So here is your answer.
      Your photo is not posessed nor is it demonic. It likely just has a stain due to aging. Scan it as normal. If you still believe it to be demonic then get an exorcism on it.
      Best of luck, and do not come at me again in this manner.

    Way too complicated unless you are doing just one or two special photos. I've done well over 1000 restorations and can get 90% of the results in 1/4 the time. (That's a SWAG.)

    • @DigitalPhotoMentor
      @DigitalPhotoMentor  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Sorry what is a SWAG? I have no idea what that even means. What software are you using to do that?
