    Windex typically has amonia in it, which actually creates a residue that works against adhesives... alcohol would be more appropriate...

      @ScoutsOut  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would totally agree but my r7 tank grips are still in perfect shape and the tank grips o put on my sons r3 i did exactly the same but found my alcohol and used that and they fell off on the first week so I don't know anymore lol

    I work insurance claims for bikes and ride. I've indeed had total losses at work because frame sliders caused frame damage when we would have otherwise just had to replace fairings and bar ends. now if you are going slow or if it just tips over in your garage, it will save you.

      Nice! So good to hear from sonó e that actually has data about it. I did end up taking them off now that’s it’s a dedicated track bike for me. Thanks for the comment!

    Thanks for the video!
    From here it looks like the frame sliders won't save your turn signals, right?
    I want to install those to improve my slow speed skills and be able to drop the bike a lot, but ofc I want to save all parts.
    Do you think 13cm (5 in) would be enough?

    • @ScoutsOut
      @ScoutsOut  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks bud, no it won’t save the stock ones but I installed the flush mounts and it will save those. If you want to be able to drop it a lot a impatech cage might be a better choice

    Great video, I totally agree on the reasons to get each of these options. Personally, I wouldn't recommend the Yamaha OEM optional tankpads as they look OK but don't provide that much grip. On my track bike I installed "stompgrips" and those provide a lot of grip, especially in the corners hanging of the bike. I have no experience with the brand you used.

    • @ScoutsOut
      @ScoutsOut  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks bro, stompgrips are the best in my opinion but they weren’t out for the r7 at the time, and I don’t like cutting my own out of the big sheet. these tank grips are good too just not as good as Stompgrip

  • @Baleur

    5:30 i mean there ARE frame sliders that are more "skid" shaped, not just round pucks.
    Round pucks makes no sense, since the motorcycle is travelling FORWARD, which means you want an angled smoother surface facing towards the front. That will prevent it from "digging" into the tarmac and flipping the bike. I dont know why 99% of people put the round pucks.

    • @ScoutsOut
      @ScoutsOut  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea the skid shaped ones would be a lot better and they look better too

    • @daskinil
      @daskinil 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I know exactly why 99% of people put round pucks on... Cost. I'd get the Yamaha pucks if they weren't three times the cost.

  • @1000750

    Coming together nicely!!! What's next rear sets, bar levers, does it have a steering dampener, or what's the chain 520 or 530? A thing used to be on the big bikes with 530 chain you convert it to 520 and add a rear tooth, you lose a lot of weight in the drive chain and with the added tooth more acceleration, not sure if that's still what people do, I'm out of the loop now a days. 😂🤙

    • @ScoutsOut
      @ScoutsOut  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks bro, I’m eyeing the front lights, levers and finishing the intake and tuner before I mess with chain and sprockets I think, gotta see what the power will be like

      @UCh-k4NFr8t2jj9x2koq7YCA definitely maybe even squeeze in a MTB ride I got an extra bike or they rent too. For motorcycles I only have a 2011 YZ 250 2stk right now sold my streetbike when I moved here but watching your vids has me itching again just for a sportbike not many roads worth wile just to many tourist cars and slow speed limits so you’d be breaking the law 110% of the time. A dual sport would be sick over here. Give me a heads up when you come and if I go that way I’ll do the same I have good friends in paso I’ve been wanting to visit too. 🤙🏼

  • @ironwolph

    There supose to be plastic frame sliders so it slides on the concrete.

  • @arnoldperez4344
    @arnoldperez4344 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Do not by any means put a locktight on the frame and engine mount...just tourqe it tight to factory spec...it is a fatal error doing this...please read the service manual of the specific bike
