Absolutely sensational. WOW. Inspirational too I must say. I'm certainly inspired to go over there. I loved this.

Thanks Robbie. So many fishing opportunities in NZ, and the redfin are definitely an under targeted species, but with sensational trout fishing, I can understand it.

What a fantastic fishery for redfin. I will be travelling to NZ later in the year, and I'll be checking this place out. Thanks for posting.

You'll have a lot of fun here, Ron. There are a number of good redfin spots to explore, and of course world class trout fishing as well.

Thanks mate. I had 3 trips to this lake and never saw anyone else fishing. Definitely an underused resource.

Enjoyed watching your video… I like a good feed of Red fin but fish that size are hard to come by here in Tassie.

Thank you. They were all in excellent condition and the average size was much better than what I am used to as well.

When you cast do you let it sink or do you retrieve straight away? Also how fast are you retrieving ?
    thanks

Hi there, Lake Waihola is quite shallow with tremendous weed growth, so I tend to start retrieving when the lure hits the water. I usually do a twitching, reasonably fast retrieve to stay above the weeds.

Sensational, Michale. No virus, and well conditioned fish that fight strongly. Well worth a visit if anyone finds themselves in the area.

I'm part of the yacht club have been since a child I could cast with a worm on back in day and before it hit the bottom fish on 😂

I can just imagine how good it would have been back then, Dan. I love fishing at Waihola.

@@FishtalkVideo I like how you talked about the weed if you can get the youre lure over the tops of beds you get lots of action very predatory fish
