Wonderful to spend time with those beautiful deer in such a magnificent setting! You are right that they can tell if you are a threat, our body language says a lot. I was uncovering the kayaks to go paddling this morning and a big doe watched me the entire time. They are so use to me and know I mean them no harm, and I talk to them. We had a nice paddle and I shot some video that I'll put up the next time I am at the library. Take care, Ossie

That was very pleasant to watch. Thank you for sharing that beautiful experience with us. You could feel the quiet peace of the area as the deer continued to graze. As I was watching, I thought the only thing that would make this better is if there were water nearby, and then there was water. :) It bothers me when other hikers come along in a quiet and peaceful setting, speaking loudly or making unnecessary noise when out in nature. It shows that they are not experiencing what is around them and it also disrupts the serenity of others. I go out into nature to get away from the hubbub of life, not to take it with me.

I am so pleased you enjoyed it the river was the other side of the path to the first Deer and at that point we were much higher than it . Then as we walked further down the track and dropped down closer to the river we saw all of the other Deer. My vide batterie was virtually finished and so we had to concentrate on capturing images instead. It was so lovelly when the deer crossed the river , you could see the water splashing up as it walked :) They stayed around after they realised we were just standing quietly and we watched them for a good 15 mins before the only two walkers we had seen came along the track talking so loudly..... We heard them before we saw them ! The deer just took off to the trees and I could not blame them. The walkers were so engrosed in their conversation they did not even know the deer were there! I was just pleased we had had our magical moment with them before they got disturbed :D Thank you for watching Take care :D Teddy

School teddy error there not having another video battery in your pack!! ;-) Seriously though this was lovely to watch and listen to before going to sleep - very calming! Thank you Teddy! :-)
Glad you enjoyed it and that it helped to relax you before bed. As for the battery I have news for you Snowy..... it was the second one of the day and I only own 2 LOl . We had had such a perfect day down Glenfinnan and while sitting by that river the camcorder was just left on the tripod running away while we ate lunch and relaxed.. If i had known we would be seeing deer and that perfect pond on our return I would not have filmed so much water LOL I had almost 50 mins worth of footage from this day !!!! Some of it personal stuff just for us I also got about 15mins of footage from that first Stag ... So lets just say it was my own fault for going too crazy with the old filming I am just so glad we had the camera with the long lens in the pack. On the way to the bothy we had not used it and the human was complaining it was extra weight in his pack that was not needed !!! However he soon changed his mind when all the deer showed themselves and I was able to capture them with it :D Thanks for watching Snowy sorry for long reply lol :D Teddy

Nice video teddy. Shame other people have to spoil it by being noisy and spooking the animals. Some people don't think and don't care.
