You've made me CRY a lot watching this,SENSEI STUART. I think I've found a brother who loves "HIGHLANDER" inasmuch as ME. Mère words can't describe how I feel everytime I watch your video documenting such spectacular trek. THANK YOU VERY MUCH
Great little vid mate. Highlander is my favourite film of all time. Yh I know there are hundreds of “better” films but coupled with what is easily the best soundtrack ever, it’s just magical & makes the 11 yr old in the 45 yr old body very happy. And after seeing the bay at Morar, I can’t hearing Ramirez going “feel the stag” 🤣
Thank you so much for doing this, I have visited to most of these but you made it so much more special with the right music and comparison shots. Very emotional
Thank you for posting this. I very nearly stopped at the wrong beach near Morar yesterday, but thanks to this I kept going until I found those rocks in the establishing shot. Off to Glencoe today......!
Bellissimo video! La foto in cui c'è Sean Connery mi ha fatto emozionare.... gli anni sono passati, molto in fretta. Grazie per aver realizzato questo video 🔝🔝🔝
Fantastic video, due to a sharp research and faithfull camera work as compared to film stills. I know nothing about Harry Potter movies but Highlander is the reason why I once visited Scotland and its Highlands. Your video makes me yearn for a second vacation there ! Thank you !
rest in peace Sean Connery one of our best actors gone but not forgotten and will always live on in his films i imagined him walking along that beach in that shot obviously most of the buildings were props but nice to see there locations all these years later, if you had looked hard enough there may have been small remnants of the sets. sometimes film studios tend to leave something behind as a marker of the film.

Hi Mate! Ok going on my own and leaving the wife and kid at home. Going to drive my porsche in and all my friends are thinking I'm insane to go in November. My question to you good Sir is.. Is it difficult to get to the exact locations? Is there a long climb or walk? will I need boots and and supplies getting to some locations ? sorry for daft questions but Ive never done this before but this is my fav movie and I have to pay tribute! Thanks in Advance :).
Hi Tony, It all depends on which locations you're visiting. I've added some details next to each location in order of appearance: MacLeods Vs Frasers (Glencoe) - Next to Road Loch Shiel (Glenfinnan) - Carpark, small walk to shore. To get the high angle shot, need to go up monument Eilean Donan (Clan MacLeod's Castle) - Car Park Ralston Cairn (Connor & Heather's Homested - Glencoe) - Next to a road but this one will need a bit of a climb to find the outcrop of rocks. Dun Dubh (Training Montage) - Probably the hardest as it's a 0.6 mile walk on a slight gradient from the Quiraing car park. Village Field (Glen Nevis) - Next to road. Gate was closed but I entered it to get my shot amongst some sheep! Refuge Bay (Beach) - Tricky one to find. Best look out for the rocks on the south side of the beach. This was all done in October so I think you'll be ok! If you need any further details, I can create a map of exact locations and where I started from and email it over. Happy Hunting!

Hey matey. I messaged you a while ago asking about Highlander music you used etc, anyway, as I said in the message, I was making Scottish Highlander Locations videos, well the first one is up on my page and as a fellow highlander fan I thought you might be interested to watch. It’s on mackie outdoors matey, hope your well 🏴🗡
@@MidiansMusic yes mate you did and thank you for replying again. I reckoned as a fellow Highlander fan my video would be right up your street. Hope your well you and yer misses 🏴👍🗡
How about highlander the series, in the episode homeland, Duncan MacLeod goes to Glenfinnan to visit the burial site of his first love....he buried a bracelet with her, but had found it for sale in Paris, having been dug up by grave robbers, so he had to go back to re-bury it, and end up having to fight the Immortal who killed his father and activated Duncan's immortality by killing Duncan. There's an inn there called glenuig inn, unfortunately it doesn't look the one in the show because they did extensive renovations, but it's the site where the episode was filmed. 🙂 What I don't know is if the forest scenes in that episode were filmed in Glenfinan or in Seattle. 🙂
It was never a real building, just stage materials. Besides, there's a main road directly underneath. The only thing that is still there from the movie is the pyramid of stones.
Wow. Thanks for making this. Must have been amazing to visit these places. I live in Ireland and I’m planning to visit these locations. Do you know where the place is where Conor and Ramirez practised together on top of rock slab in the mountains? Helicopter filmed I presume.
That location is called the Cioch in the Black Cuillin Mountains on the Isle of Skye. You have to be a very good climber and not afraid of heights for that one! www.ambaile.org.uk/asset/37124/1/EN37124-the-cioch-the-cuillins-isle-of-skye.htm/
Hey buddy. Loved the video, a man after my own heart. I’m going to be doing a small documentary on the Scotland Highlander locations and the tune you use by Michael Kamen is what I’d also like to use on my video. Can you tell me please where you got the rights to use the music please? I know there’s places where you can do this, pay a small fee and it’s copyright free, but it’s mostly chart music. Any help and I’d be very grateful. Best wishes. Dene.
Hi, ok..in a nutshell I just used the music! During the upload process I wait to see if it's accepted, adverts attached, or block in countries. On this occasion, I believe adverts were added. Also, you won't be able to monetise the video (which i don't care about).

Some are quite close, but other locations were further away. Yes we were there for a few days. For example the first stop was the battle field, then onto Heather & Connors home (2.6 miles away), then onto the Village Field (24.8 miles away), then to Glenfinnan's Loch Shiel (18.6 miles) on to Morar Beach (24.2 Miles Away). We stayed at Fort Augustus on the southern shore of Loch Ness, so it was still an extra 47 Miles to Eilean Donan Castle, then another 62 miles to the locations on the Isle of Skye. It's a big long round trip. If you need any extra info on exact locations, let me know :)
