"Daydreaming," "YOLO," "Puzzle,” and a host of others are world-class masterpieces. Oh well, I'll stop daydreaming now. Thx Wally, for another great Band-Maid reaction!
hey wally, here are the translated lyrics. thought you may enjoy seeing that the lyrics really do match the mood of the song: Daydreaming, don’t wake me up There's nothing I can do with a hoarse voice Stay next to me tonight Hold on, feel my soul
As we swayed under the moonlight Our shadows blended together Clumsiness intertwined I hope tonight does not end
This may be wrong Though I thought it was over I still want to believe I feel more alive in this moment
Daydreaming, dreaming of you
So, I'm daydreaming, don’t wake me up There's nothing I can do with a hoarse voice Stay next to me tonight Don’t go
I want to daydream, don’t let it disappear We cannot go back, so don’t go Stay next to me tonight Hold on, feel my soul
Feeling the distance of this breath Somehow I love you so much Our shadows start to move And dissolves in the early hours
This may be wrong Though I thought it was over I still want to believe I feel more alive in this moment
Daydreaming, dreaming of you
So, I'm daydreaming, do not wake up There's nothing I can do with a hoarse voice Stay next to me tonight, do not go Hold on, feel my soul
I want to daydream, don’t let it disappear We cannot go back, so don’t go Stay next to me tonight Hold on, feel my soul
Saiki's voice on this is beautiful. I love all Band Maid but their slow and mid tempo songs always knock my socks off and they don't let up on the musicianship. Plenty of others like this, About Us, Page, Anemone and Awkward for example. If you can grab a live version of Daydreaming (Studio Coast is a good one) there is an added piano intro by Kanami which takes this song up another notch .
When you start suggsting mid-tempo gems by Band-Maid and find other fan's comment, that makes me wonder how many more I've forgotten. Mirage, Matchless Gum, Wonderland...I was in the middle of listening to my B-M playlist just before checking some B-M reaction videos. I'm sure I'll a few more.
Hi Wally, stellar ballad and really elevating for souls. Was filmed in Taiwan, specifically in the city of Keelung. Yes, Saiki was in front vocally and Miku was in the shadow with the backing and parallel vocals. Great reaction for this masterpiece of emo rock. If you want to continue feeding your heart then you have Anemone (live), Smile (live), Catharsis (live), etc. but, in my opinion, Puzzle (acoustic live) is an emotional surprise as they change the pace and rythimg of an explosive song to a pure demonstration of sweet sensibility, deep emotions with Saiki and Kanami (guitar and vocals) adding colors to the dark sky. In this song, Saiki turns her heart into the third lung while Kanami provides the oxygen needed... Keep going
Personally I feel that he should do the Puzzle Double feature. The Full on live followed by the live acoustic. To hear the powerful emotions that Saiki puts into the lyrics.
Such a perfect and, er, beautiful song. Miku's lyrics and Kanami's music composition can create anything from 220 BPM in-yer-face blasts of sound (Black Hole) to the most gentle and emotional, lyrical and moving pieces (Anemone and About Us) and lots more in between. This is one of my favourite favourites! Think you'd enjoy the similar feel of Wonderland, where Saiki gets to show off her vocals really well.
Most people praise how good instrumentalists MISA, Akane and Kanami are when they first listen to a Band-Maid song, but don't realize how good a lead vocal Saiki and a support vocal Miku are. Saiki's singing really shines in mid-tempo songs such as Daydreaming, About Us, Puzzle (acoustic version), Anemone (acoustic version), Endless Story, and 12 songs from their Christmas acoustic Okyu-ji. Btw, I didn't realize that your image was flipped till today😁
You're right, the title of this song couldn't be more appropriate. It simply invites you to dream. And if Saiki's voice and this solo doesn't scream for emotions, I don't know what does. By the time this video came out Band Maid were already masters of the genre. They have always been the most versatile band out there. Their immense talent allows them to produce any kind of music that they can think of. They literally have no limitations.
it's one of my top 5 Band Maid songs. From the overall feel, to Misa's surprisingly busy bass line, to the scorching soul rending guitar solo, to Saiki being left ringing out solo to end it, it's just a perfect song.
Kanami's choice of sound for her guitar to suit each song is simply second to none as far as I'm concerned. Just always absolute perfection. I've been constantly listening to these miracles that make up Band Maid for a little over a year now and I still feel like I've barely scratched the surface of their talent.
It's funny, when Band-Maid slows down. It's like watching a Porsche driver stuck in traffic. Kanami found an opening, and she hit the gas. ... I got the same feeling during the acoustic show, especially from Akane. ;-)
A fan favorite, and for very good reasons. I have like 30 songs in my Band-Maid Top 5, but Daydreaming is not one of them. It's in a category of it's very own. 🥰
Daydreaming is perfection , acoustic "smile" as well as acoustic "puzzle / anemone" and "about us"..... yeah I been repeating myself for years but there is no band like Band-Maid :)
I believe Kanami (lead guitar) said this was her favourite track also....At least as the time.....I do hope it really is...As she is also my fav member....I know it's hard to say which individual is our fav...as they are all delightful ladies..But it's human nature to be drawn to an individual in a band....Whether it's because of how they look, or the instrument they play, or their personality...The thing with BAND-MAID is that they ALL have those traits...looks, instrumental talent, and personality.....But it is Kanami that's captured my heart as a person...She's as cute as a button and as mad as a box of frogs...and she melts my heart (though I am a drum lovin guy)...I lost my partner to cancer in 2017 and it has been dark times for me....But BAND-MAID is the light I needed to see their are things worth being around for...They are like a a famous piece of art....You can admire the magnificence of it's creation even though you can't own it...Though I do have a Kanami on a t-shirt!!!..hehehe!.
I'd second (or third, or fourth, or....fifteenth) the recommendation for "Smile" live acoustic and "About Us" live. Both are songs written expressely for us fans. "Smile" written from the perspective of the stage, seeing all the fan's smiling faces and "About Us" writen like the band is saying, "Hold on, we're here and with we're with you" in the face of the pandemic. Just beautiful, like "Daydreaming". Thanks Wally! 🕊

You might also want to check out the two latest acoustic Band-Maid videos if they are still up. I think they are limited time only.
If you want to get into your feels check out About Us live version. A song they wrote during covid for the fans because they couldn't do live shows. That shit brought a tear to my eye the first time I heard it this band is just too good.

There aren't too many "ballads" where you can say that the drums are one of the biggest highlights of the song. Akane's musicality on this track is unreal. The drums aren't just keeping time or driving the beat here. They are actually functioning as a "voice" along with the other instruments. She does a lot of amazing and technical playing on Band-Maid's other tracks. But I'd actually argue that Daydreaming is her master class.
They can go even softer, check out "about Us". If you want to her Saiki really bring some emotion to a song, listen to Puzzle (acoustic, live) it's just her and Kanami.
Emotions are guaranteed with me during this song. A favorite for many Maidiacs. And with Band-Maid expect the unexpected. That's what they do. No matter what tempo they're playing. As diverse a band as you'll find anywhere. Try "About Us" for a ballad dedicated to their fans. The unexpected is a big reason why BAND-MAID is Awesome. Peace.
I know it's a favourite for many Maidiacs, and I guess I can understand why, but I'm one of the exceptions. I even think that solo is somewhat overblown by a lot of people. But I'm also not the biggest fans of ballads in general and come from the heavier side of metal for the last 15 years or so, so that might be why. Most of their slower songs tend to have parts that somewhat bother me to some extend and I find them somewhat boring even though they all well crafted and Saiki's vocals tend to be amazing. That being said, I do like about Us and Wonderland a lot. They both would be very high up if I would rank all of their songs. So I second the "about Us" recommendation.
@@MaartenT I come from the heavier spectrum too but what makes these slower songs so impressive is that B-M are prepared to try them in the first place when they could easily stay within their heavy rock comfort zone :)
@@MaartenT Thanks Maarten for your comment. Everybody has their favorites. That's what it's all about and Band-Maid I believe has songs that will satisfy everyone. 1:25:17 Saiki: We have been having days of turmoil for about a year. In the beginning, we were very surprised because we hadn’t experienced it before, and we had no experience of not being able to meet others in person.
1:25:49 Saiki: We were sad, but we found we shouldn’t be sad in this situation.
1:26:04 Saiki: When I saw you masters and princesses on social media, you were more depressed than us, and we thought that’s terrible.
1:26:23 Saiki: We Band-Maid have been thinking about how to cheer up all of you in the last one year.
1:26:36 Saiki: We truly wanted to meet you at Nippon Budokan, but it’s impossible because of COVID, so let’s wait for the day when we can meet.
1:26:52 Saiki: And in the last one year… or in the COVID pandemic, we have become more eager to cheer you up, and we Band-Maid realized again it’s important to give our songs to you.
1:27:19 Saiki: That’s why we wrote this song for Budokan.
1:27:25 Saiki: We made the album also in the pandemic, so it might have a little similar feel, but this song is planned for Nippon Budokan, and we really want to give it to you masters and princesses now.
1:27:52 Saiki: Budokan is not our goal but just a stepping stone. We will perform at bigger venues, and we promise we will bring you there and give you even better songs, so let’s keep it up a little more.
1:28:15 Saiki: This is our present for you masters and princesses.
1:28:25 Saiki: Please listen to it.
Great comment Kevin.👍 Tell me about it, my comments getting deleted are the bane of my life :(
@@GaryHolloway-810 same here. 1 that I am aware of as of last night.
@@greylocke100 It happens for no reason. It 's not like we post offensive comments.🤷♂️
@@GaryHolloway-810 Oh heck no!! There is no WAY i would post something offensive when it pertains to the ladies. I dont want MISA or Kobato to come after me, and even the thought of making Kanamincho frowning at me has me quivering. 😁
@@GaryHolloway-810 I think it happens a lot if non-u2b links are included. The OP stated that he added a reddit link.
MISA MISA MISA!
Tiny hat!
Masterpiece
Kanami could shred Amazing Grace and make it sound epic.
Top tune for me.
Can you publish you sleep, list? I’d like to have one.
try wonderland
Worst timing ever
It’s fake an imitation.
"Daydreaming" brings a smile to my face & a tear to my eye at the same time, such is the beauty of this song.🥲
The tears really come when Kanami's solo starts.
Totally! 🌈🌞
I get you Gary, totally get you....
@@silentwood207 Yep that comes totally out of left field, that's what makes it even more awesome :)
@@RahimRahmat Sometimes a song deserves a serious comment.🙂
