      Can someone explain to me why this game gets so negative reviews??? Has more stages than any other rally game, stages are from real life and not fake, driving physics are amazing outside of the 5% more grip than it should have (Dirt Rally 2 had easily 20-25% less grip than real life)
      I think people are just shitting on the game just cause it says EA in the title... Cause compared to Dirt Rally 2 it's a HUGE IMPROVEMENT

      @@nikosfotidas8543 In EA WRC you can only do championships with WRC 1, 2, 3 cars, so no group A/B nor historical. As I enjoy older cars much more, I really miss this. The career mode is much more involved, which is good, but each 'year' is the exact same as the last, so not much replayability there. VR visuals are pretty bad at the moment. Also, EA automatically makes it worse, that is obvious. Those are the cons I can come up with. Also, Phil Mills is sorely missed, I enjoyed his pace notes MUCH more than the more 'robotic' ones in this game, but that's entirely down to preference.

      @@iseslc sorry but saying that the fact EA is on the title of the game makes it worse is disrespectful to the devs... Also I used to play FIFA at the same level as the pros back in 2014 - 2015 and that EA game was impeccable... Big studios are capable of good and bad... But I don't prejudge...
      Also just make a custom tournament with old cars dude and enjoy them... I love running the old Impreza or some old H2 RWD cars... So that's way more than you had in DR 2.0
      Anyway, EA WRC is waaaaay better than what people give it credit for... And gamers don't understand that killing good games through their nonsensical whining means that less studios will try to make a good modern rally game in the future cause they don't want to throw money and lose it...

      @@nikosfotidas8543 I have to agree with you, EA WRC does a better job at physical simulation (they finally fixed tarmac!). Also the stages are much more complex and technical, which is cool. Yes! Cause I answered same question asked by myself by buying it at the beggining of this week. Firstly I must agree that it is actually better than Dirt Rally 2 which i refunded after an hour. I mainly compete in races on track in AC and ACC and some friend of mine convinced me to try Richard Burns Rally. Oh man still having Dirt in memory I immiedietly felt in love with after doing 3 upshifts and one corner. But still keep hearing a lof of shit about this EA WRC but the other hand I've heard opinions like yours that its a HUGE IMPROCEMENT from Dirt 2 like there is no comparision to it, different games. So with big hopes I deceided to give it a Try. And in terms of simulation it simulate nicely the reallife liveries and yes they look like in real world and the strongest simlation point in this called simARCADE game. It's so ridicoulous and still so arcade that I am still wondering how the fuck You can say that driving physics are amazing?! They are amazingly ridicoulous dish stil that I need to ask you this question now: Do You even have driving license buddy? And I am still wondering from where You took or what are the calculation for this 5% more grip outside? xD Either my country didn't get some patches and hotfixes to EA WRC (it's a joke ftr. I am up to date) or You trippin hard my man. Like ok driving model can fits You and You can say it is realistic for You it's an opinion but brother before saying that EA WRC has more stages than any other rally games it's good to do a little of research cause it is obiously not true. EA WRC has got : at the moment 216 (few new are coming I know) but You know how many stages are in RBR? 1145 so like EA WRC is not even fucking close. Don't get me wrong EA WRC is good arcade game but shitty af if we wanna look at it as at a "simulator". I think we will have to enjoy RBR for few more years before something will came up with proper physics to replace old good Richard.

Do you know how many LEGITIMATE stages made by devs are in RBR by the way... Next to none... But yeah .. compare 20 years of fan made mods to a legit game made by one team 1 year ago... There is so much to learn from your video. 🤔
    At the 45 second mark you explained the ideal is to be just locking all 4 wheels at 100% pedal travel. How can you tell they are locking evenly front to back?
    Is there a technique for finding the balance? Does your brake pedal vibrate and give feedback? Mine doesn't.
    I use 4 year old Fanatec pedals with two 3D Rap elastomer bushings to reduce effort and increase pedal travel.
    Do you watch your stages with an outside view to know when braking is balanced?
    Any feedback will be appreciated 👊

      It depends...on tarmac I put more braking at the front to take advantage of the car's weight transfer under hard braking 70/30 or so.
      On tight loose gravel stages I have tried more braking power at the rear so I don't lose steering under braking. More rear brake bias on gravel helps the rear end slide out a bit to set the car up for accelerating at the apex of the turn.
      Car settings are something like adjusting seasonings of a meal to personal taste. It boils down to personal preference and is not an exact science as far as I can tell.

    • @RALLYTechnical
      @RALLYTechnical  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi, so when setting the base brake balance and pressure I used to run in chase cam and pull the view to the side and hit the brakes hard and repeat this until all 4 are just locking at around 95% travel. But now i can just feel that out as im driving through a stage for the first couple of time.
      When I'm in a stage max attacking i may need to adjust the balance slightly if I'm not getting the desired rotation for key corners. By key corners I mean heavy braking. Hope that helps.

    I always felt that the developers didn't have a clue how to make a car handle, default setups in the previous Dirt titles were always pretty bad for me. In this game I have found many cars damper setups are just set to middle of the slider bar, as if they just threw their arms up in the air in surrender and didn't bother. Also Codemasters seemed to cut and paste some of the historic cars from the first Dirt into Dirt 2.0 and now into this game, some of the toe settings are reversed, toe in on the rear of a 4wd car should increase stability cornering, but a few cars and the RS200 in one that comes to mind that putting toe in on the rear makes the car swap ends like it's a Tesco shopping trolley. Toe out actually tightens her up and reduces the oversteer. Unless of course after watching this video it is other settings affecting this. Lastly, can I ask where you are from? I hear a bit of a West Country accent?

    Isn't it sometime theoretically better to have slow rebound as low as possible? as the wheels are pushed faster into the ground for more grip.
    If stability is not a big concern, on stages without jumps but maybe many small bumps.
    Or on very twisty stages to make the car more reactive to subsequent turns, it might also be an idea to have rebound lower than bump?

    • @colonelcorpse7260
      @colonelcorpse7260 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Very good question, I've been asking myself the same thing. (personally) I always softened the slow bump to low or medium low and tighten the fast bump to about medium, softened the rebound and used a medium to med high bump division. It seems to work on some cars and some stages but I still find myself wondering if I even know what I'm doing 🤣 I can still get some decent times on the leaderboard though so I must be doing something right.

    • @Astramarus
      @Astramarus 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I also have a preference for this low slow rebound setting you speak of. I'll disclaim that while I have no input on whether this sort of setup is objectively better, and my preference may be outweighed by some real physical logic, I feel like I can shift the weight smoother and faster (bringing the car back around for an opposing corner) with -5 on the slow rebound. I used -5 front and rear for slow rebound on the car that I set my one overall world record with.
      Edit: I'm also a controller driver if that makes a difference.

    Hi, so I have a question. Given your explanation, is there any reason not to just max out the handbrake for every setup since if the goal is to lock the tires, then max force is the dumb way of getting there every time?

    • @colonelcorpse7260
      @colonelcorpse7260 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Maxed out handbrake force can cause the car to over rotate on hairpins and acute turns, which in turn can add significantly more time to your overall stage times and splits.

      @ilzee_vk handbrake turns are a controlled manoeuvre. By adjusting the strength you change how early they lock on the travel of your handbrake and as a result how violently/fast it brakes lose from you.
