- I am back to a WRC dual paddle shift for this video using the Subaru World Rally Car (2001) on a great Rally stage in Greece called Anodou Farmakas and it was EPIC :)
The stage is really 3D and made me feel like I was in a real life stage. Out of the box I thought the Subaru worked quite well, no doubt it can go quicker with some tuning tweaks, but I left the setup completely standard to see what the Subaru could do. A few mistakes, so there is a bit more time to be had from the car.

I have my force feedback to feel as realistic to rallying as possible. Rotation is 810. TV's are Sony LED's.
A popular question, Is DiRT realistic? There is a lot in this game that feels like the real thing. Like rallying, the scenery goes past pretty fast in bonnet view, which is why I use and prefer it, it makes me feel like I am there, I don't look at the dashboard much on a rally :) I can use a lot of my car control in this game and the car responds as you intended it to, most of the time xD

i always fly off the cliff on those 3 left/ 3 right turns even, yet she just dives into them at double my speed.
And she was still 19 seconds off the top time, even with that near flawless run.
Only difference is she can do that irl, the top time probably cant
Top times are the pinnacle of people using up every single exploit in a track. They memorize the track. Go wide when they can and cut as much as possible. Also they probably map the handbrake to a button and run the same track again and again.
@@michaelagustinsantos3015 I'm not trying to take anything away from her, that was an amazing run. I just couldn't believe that you could shave 19 seconds off that!
@@the_appointed1142 give that top time a car equivalent to hers irl plus some seat time and we'll see. Just because she has the money/opportunity to do this in real life does not mean she is faster than many sim racers by default. Always hate this argument because the sim racers have no way to prove themselves other than these leaderboards and when they get to the top people still complain. Also note this wasn't her first attempt given that she had a PB with the same car, albeit a slow one indicating that this was indeed in a handful attempts.
She did several mistakes.
The thing is : cumulative.
She did not crash the car or anything, but several turns could be done more optimally - building up the lost time over the course.
Still, impressive run, nevertheless.

The scale of difficulty is insane. Theres a point where you gotta start pushing the games boundaries too

The most closest of the perfect driving I've ever seen in my life. It was amazing, how the track pass though so fast, the cornering, wow! And the screens makes feel so inmersive.

You could say "I lead a club where we read books" in the past tense, and they sound like led and red, or you could say "I am going to lead a club where we read books" in the future tense and they sound like leed and reed. It's weird how the sounds change but not the spelling depending on the tense, and if you don't know the tense, there's two possibilities on the pronunciation.

I have to think all rally drivers are running a set-up like this (or better) just to practice for real races. Great stuff!
Now just contemplate the fact that she can do this for real. Imagine being in that car with her on a race like this. You would be eternally grateful to be alive when the car finally stops.

Co driver is actually more important in this type of race. Read one weong note the car will crash.
@@jj987987987 I would not say more important, they are a team. And that one note wrong leads to crash is not correct, it depends on so much, but it might lead to a crash. If the co-driver says left turn 6 instead of 5, the driver can fix it in time.
But who is more important is easily argued with a few simple questions. Do you think Daniel Elena is the most important reason Sebastian Loeb won 9 WRC championships? If Elena went with the driver that came last every year of those, would that driver have won? And if Loeb got another co-driver, would Loeb lose?
The driver has the toughest job, by far. But they are a team, and they need to be in sync to be really good. But i think we can safely say, the co driver is not more important.

its called muscle memory the more you practise the better you will get because it then becomes natural and your performance will get better, her hand and eye control and reflex and muscle memory make her as good as she is congrats, what a breath of fresh air in a male dominated sport

As much as I love the 2001 Impreza, it turns out to be one of the slowest 2000cc cars, which surprised me. The Citroen C4 is one of the quickest of the 2000cc class.
It looks so smooth that I could swear we're playing different versions of the game. Cause when I clip a bush I get launched to the moon. But I guess it's just something I'm doing or then I just don't grasp the size of the car properly and it's going further than I think.
Having three screens like that might help

I'd like to see a comparison of her run to the #1 with her commentary about the differences. (I assume the #1 drives nearly perfectly via muscle memory whereas she hasn't driven this track 10,000 times.)

Plus the fastest Impreza is #59 on the leaderboard, the Citroens and Focuses are a bit quicker in this class.

That's an "OH SH*T" turn to right, tighter ones are called "MYGOOOOOOOD" or "FUUUUUUU--"
yup and you can tell she was also extremely scared. So she had to wait a full 2 seconds to scratch her ear after being back in the more comfortable full throttle mode. I mean can you even imagine fearing for your life while also having an itchy ear.

It's the sound. Every time I think I'm gonna convert to dash view, I start driving and I miss all the ground effects and the hard to hear environment sounds. and the engine being higher pitch drones out my focus a bit. Bonnet view so much more fun, I like to put the fov up a notch too.
Rally racers are on different level. They not just have to drive in tougher terrain but also listen to the directions and errors can cause you so much

Ahh the 2001 Subaru, such an incredible car. As unbalanced as that class is (its pretty much C4 or good luck) its great to see those cars flown around.
I gotta challenge you, Oksala Finland, with either the RGT Mustang or Camero, give it a shot!
For those don’t know, she’s has even disabled manual throttle, all aid options are on, including some custom configs and even cheats on this wheel which I’m sure what brand is it.
It’s impossible to play it like that in a sim mode.

Back track hit side ditches several times, if you have played Dirt rally in a sim way, you will never survive that with that speed, your car will surely turn.

Watch from the beginning - moment of counting to start. We see only brake and clutch, the right foot on gas is hidden - rig is in the way.
So she does accelerate all the time. Left foot braking of course - easier to keep car balance, trying this from yesterday also. Much quicker than switching right foot from gas to brake.

I like how you corrected the way to turn the 270 degrees turns from half way into the stage. The first half were mostly all taken wide open while the 2nd half were near perfectly cut through not losing speed.
