This truly is a surprise for the 400th episode. And yes, the movie had a $13 million budget but only made $20.4. It had negative scathing reviews to the point that even the actual Beatles shun the film. No joke. No wonder Marvel decided not to release it in the US. It would have hurt Marvel even more.

Haven't rewatched these episodes in a while, just wanted to comment that the translator did a great job with the lettering on the pages. I've seen so much amateurish translations on scans before, but this looks near professional.
Oh no... XD The Cinema Snob episode of this movie is one of my favorites, in part because the musical is just so bonkers INSANE. It's a musical that is absolutely prime for riffing in just about every sequence. The ending is also all sorts of amazing (for the wrong reasons, obviously), but we'll be getting to that in the second part...
I love these anniversary reviews because of all the effort put into them. They're standouts because they're ambitious and have the most polished writing and editing

I can't believe that it took me until AFTER my first year of college to figure out that "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" was actually about "LSD." In hindsight, it should've been more apparent. Yeah...brought back a lot of bad memories here.
It really isn't, the band was quite forthcoming about their drug references, and all of them are adamant that the song is just about a drawing John's son drew that he called Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds and that any drug references were not intentional

From what I understand, and I’m just going by the Literary Lair’s review of it, but the novelizations (yes, this film got a novelization), explained quite a bit and answered a lot of questions, including that during WWII, the original Lonely Hearts Club Band performed on the Pacific Theater, not the European one.
This episode is and always be special to me. Because it was originally released in june. This episode was released right on the day I packed up to move to a better house.
