I used to collect coins as a kid but lost my collection in a house fire. I have randomly held on to some stuff through the years but never got invested because I was overwhelmed with all the "guides" available. I randomly came across the variety and something (I can't think of the name) which led me to your channel and now I follow you both. Thank you for taking the time to make these videos. It has encouraged me to look through all my coins/bills and the stuff my dad gave me. I especially appreciate the close ups and examples so I know what the heck I'm looking for!

So I found a 1952 wheat variety....and I couldn't Resist cleaning it (then I learned Never Clean the Coin). Any otc person can't stand looking at a dirty coin:-) Anyway, it's a beauty and I love looking at it and thinking at All the World History during that year, the end of the wars etc etc....I think I am getting hooked at collecting for the History of the world which rhymes with every year of printing. It just Amazing: it's another way of Having a history book you make by hunting☺

Thank you for all the valuable information! I, personally, have both the books you mentioned (and others), but I definitely get more out of you explaining this stuff, lol! This stuff isn't always black and white to me. It also helps that the videos are put together in different categories so I don't have to flip from page to page with every coin question. .. I have 2009 one... it's the first and only coin I own that's uncirculated and protected in a cardboard slot nowadays put away in storage... so now almost 10 years later I'm into knowing more about coins...
Though I don't sell coins any more for a living which I wish I still did. Miss doing it. But I'm always still on the look out on my coins in my pocket when I get em. Watching these videos also keeps me going on the hunt. One of these day's I'm determond to find me a freaking doubled ear 84. That's one that I want.
I collect silver dollars,but did buy at auction some bags of wheat pennies. They seem to be much better grades and rarity then ever expected. You are a patient person keep coining.

I enjoy and appreciate your sharing of knowlege and information. Your videos are fantastic. I do not understand, after plunking down 40 bucks for he Cherry Picker's Guide, why it is ever plugged with pennies. I was hoping it would be the definitive source for all the penny errors and codes. Imagine my surprise when I thumbed through after getting it home and realizing it has no pennies and really, not much in the way of modern coins at all. Did I get the wrong book? I'm hoping the Strike It Rich book is much better and certainly focused more on the modern coins as well as pennies. This time, I'll look through it before deciding! Thanks and do let me know if I somehow ended up with the wrong edition or book.

I really like the way these 2009 Cents are toning! Really rich dark tone that makes the designs pop. But, that massive zinc content is a tragedy. Might as well be minting these coins out of sugar cubes..
hey i know this video is all about coins but im curious how you feel (and i respect your opinion) about cga grading services as ha refuses to sell their graded notes , i got burnt on six of their notes andsimply had to pull them from their capsules and have em regraded (what im saying is the notes seemed graded right but the cga association put them on the same value as ungraded or raw notes) thx for your time and all the great info!

I looked at it with magnifying lens and can't find anything to tell me it was scratched off. It's in nice shape and was part of my Dads stash of pennies I've has since I was a kid. What do you think?

Whats funny is...that feeling you got when you found it...and realised it was a true doubled die...well you will get that same feeling everytime you find one. I have been coin searching for many many years...and i still get that feeling. I love it!!

After I examined my medium stack of 18 2000 pennies, I was dissapointed with not seeing any doubling, but then I found something really interesting. The FB initials of the engraver on the reverse said PB! F and P look very similar so I made sure to get good lighting and focus on it with a magnifying glass. Sure enough it was a capital P instead of F. I Can't tell if the F was sloppily printed - meaning it was a double die, or if it was a straight up letter P. My guess is double die? I haven't found anything online about that kind of doubling or error. Please help!

ever heard of the chip that's on 2012 p one cent pennies? it's on the top left of the shield, about half way from the left corner and top left corner in the middle of the curve.. any idea of it's vaule would be greatly appreciated; I have collected about 10 of them so far.

I came about a 1984D zinc penny. The local Coin Gallery said that someone tried to remove the copper coating, but I find no evidence of any tampering or any copper residue on it. What is your opinion.

I have a 2000 D Lincoln error penny. The word Liberty, the B looks like it has an S over it and throughout both sides has beautiful rainbow and gold toning. Hello. I have a 2018 U.S. quarter that on the face side in the four o'clock position on the rim a major defect. It's a quarter inch long and its raised up . Hard to explain. But would appreciate some advice.

i would have to see it, but without looking...id have to agree with Gilbert Cantrell...its most likely mechanical doubling..or strike doubling. There are ddo's for the 2000 lincoln cents...just i do not know of any with the wide am reverse. Doesnt mean its not possible though...new varieties are discovered all the time. every "double die" i thought i found like 200 of em were md yesterday i found a real dd rosie dime and finding it cleared up all my confusion thanks dustin

i just found in pocket change 2017 p double die lincoln has extra earlobe and extra on beard looks like full rough beard with extra chin in lower beard bottom of neck also looks like the neck tie around neck does ot have straight lines its distorted at top and looks like he has neck separation

If at all possible (assuming someone would have the time, I need a list compiled into one of the names of all these misprints, mistakes, and mishaps bc I seem to be a magnet for the highly sought after. Less than two weeks I found two '45 what pennies. One I believe has this double print on the front as well as a myriad of other high quality coins
I work at a gas station and I found a penny that wasn't stamped on either side. it is slightly smaller then normal pennies but it is a US penny.
