As I know if you want use additional subnets in your lab, you should use NAT on outside interface when bridging you network.

Thank you. Tried it and worked with no problem. Cisco has made this easy. Have you figured out how to install FTDv and FMC in CML 2.0? A video on that would be great. I have not been able to get it to work.

Hi, Thanks for explaining this. But is there any way we can connect to all topology devices via an external connector?

Hi David, thank you for this video. Ext-conn is working for me on VMware ESXi. Initially there was an issue - unable to ping from CML router to external network and vise versa but issue is resolved once I changed the ESXi vSwitch0 promiscuous mode configuration from "Reject" to "Accept".

your videos are simply awesome David i follow a lot of them.. Small question: i am in Nat mode.. got a Natted IP. I am able to ping internet but i am not able to ping from my local machine(windows) to Host and vice versa. if i need that capability do i have to use only bridge mode.. My whole purpose of this CML lab is to have 2 vms instances, one for cml and other for ansible and practice playbooks.. any suggestions will be awesome..

    Hi David,
I've started using VIRL2 (The online CML) and I've setup a lab topology that contains an ext-conn. I put the settings of the ext-conn into a bridge mode, and connected it to IOSv router on interface Gi0/1 and I set the interface to DHCP, but I'm not getting any IP from my home network.
Is this because I'm using the online VIRL (VIRL2) and because of that, it's not seeing my laptop interface?
