It's Cisco. Nothing is free. They're financial predators even towards those who simply want to learn how to deploy their equipment.
funny enough, today I was revising automation for my ccna, and started thinking about practising automation on my CML2.6 Labs and how to do it!!
Lighweight "VPCs" images such as the one available for GNS3 and EVE-NG would be great. Sometimes you only need to simulate a host and don't want to run a full Alpine Linux host VM to do this

I hope this new CML version has something to play with DNAC like a Cat9300 to do some Fabric Edge, Border, Control, and so on.

Did you buy it? On the website it says the current version on sale is 2.6. Is there any difference between 2.6 and 2.7 and if I do buy..do we get updated to 2.7 when it comes out?
Sorry for delay. Yes I bought it and love it. You get a 1 year license. Yes you will be able to upgrade if newer versions are out.
@@jeanharvey1063 no worries. I went and bought it too.. so I am excited to get it setup! Ive been using packet tracer..What computer are you running it on? I have a decent laptop with 8 cores CPU and 32GB ram so hopefully it will run ok. Cheers

Would there be any reason one would want to use the IOSv or IOSvL2 images instead of the new lighter IOL equivalents?

I am looking to deploy CML in Azure. Does anyone have any information on doing this?
I upgraded to 2.7.0 and I have none of the new nodes?? any ideas? It definitely upgraded as I see the new version on login and new UI.. but no new nodes :(
The reference & supplemental images bottom of the 2.7 download portal are both needed, the supplemental has the new nodes. I had the opposite issue, new no old. Uploaded them both to the platform and hot to trot.
I really hope they don't cap the throughput on the new IOL images, 1mbs is ridiculous.

Not sure if I understand the comment (sarcasm or happy?), but for a server of that size that you only use when needed, that may be much more cost effective than buying a large server / computer for your labs.
